Well, when it comes to accessories for film shooters, there is one item that I think is very useful and can come handy and in today's video I am going to show you what that item is. My Leica M6 has a light meter but I never put a battery in the camera. Even though is has one, the external one I am showing in the video is much more useful.
😁
See you soon in the next one!

Thank you for explaining the Exposure Compensation setting and the way it switches back to EV on the screen. I've been using this meter for about a month on my Leica M4-2. I either wear glasses and can see the tiny EV readings blinking away or I wear one contact with limited close-up power. The EC/EV is smaller than the other readings. You need a microscope to read the instructions that came in the box but there is no mention of setting the EC and it defaulting back to EV on the screen. I think I've watched every TH-cam on the meter and yours is the only one that mentions this. Thank you for that!
Great video. Thank you.

I have this meter. It works well. There are a couple of things I don't like. One is the the dial has clicks but the clicks don't correspond with setting changes on the screen. For example, If you change ISO and move the wheel 2 clicks you would think it would move 2 stops...but it doesn't...the value may or may not change. You just have to keep moving the wheel until you see the right value. Second is that the screen is on top and is hard to see in direct sunlight. The exposure lock feature helps with this because you can freeze the reading for 5 seconds. But it slows you down. Move the screen to the back...declick the wheel...it'd be perfect. For the price and size it's fine!
Also you can move the hotshoe mount for a better fit on different cameras which is nice.
Very useful!
It’s very similar to the Doomo Meter S. I have two of those, one in black, and the other silver.
Was wondering about this meter! Appreciate the video! My sister's inlaws gifted me a Hi-Matic 7S, that I quickly fell in love with, meter just died.
Phone app light meters can be good IF the camera lens is not covered in fingerprints which is an incessant problem. My light meter looks like your third example but varies +/- 2 to 3 stops so it’s now a paper weight. I’ll be interested to learn more about this one’s predictability and reliability.
I can see immediately that the meter blocks the shutter speed dial on the camera, isn't that a problem?
You can set the mounting in three different positions so for most cameras this wouldn't be a problem.
What is the battery life like? Will it make it a full day?
It will last a full day or more. It also charges really fast - like 20 minutes. (I don't work for the company; I've just been using one for about a month.)
Don’t most professional film stocks have a latitude of 2 stops or so ? Unless one is bent on professional work, the sunny 16 rule or the phone apps do the job in a pinch. The Hedeco Lime II does lead the field in my opinion amongst its ilk.
