I have the base Macan. My wife and we’re at the dealer in October of 2019 and the salesman said he had a brand new 2018 base speced like the old turbo,(quad exhaust, sports chrono package, the 18 ways seats, air suspension and the turbo wheels. We paid 59,000 for it and it’s the best car I’ve ever owned. I’m going to drive that thing for at least another ten years. Love your videos and really appreciate your analytical approach that does not follow the herd.
I haven’t yet started this video but already know that it’s just the thing I need this wintry Sunday. Been agonizing over a 718 vs 911 decision so really looking forward to this. And given that it’s Thomas, I know I can expect great, trustworthy content to help my decision making. Thanks man. 👍🏽👍🏽
Im agonizing over convertible or not, eg back window sizes (smaller in convertible), cleaning and water proofing, open and closing or stuck issues, I saw a you tube showing how to manually over ride but hell it is a lot of work just do to that on the 718. I also do not know what option I have to selected to get stitching since it takes away the 2 tone black and chalk.
I agree with your summary. I was raised on sports cars with lower hp manual transmissions. They are sooo fun on twisty mountain roads. I used engine noise not because it was cool but for shift points. The worst feature for EV's are fake exhaust. Nothing fake is ever good. Porsche gets the looks and handling near perfect and those are the main features I consider in a car. Also love the manual controls and normal door handles. Thanks Thomas.
I completely agree! Cayman if you want a pure sportscar / roadstar, Macan if you want a sporty car that is also a daily driver and suitable for long road trips. Just get the Macan S, it has the better engine and if you consider the equipment upgrades, the price difference is easily justifiable.
I bought my wife a Macan Turbo 2015. Best family option. Compact, top quality in everything. I own only one button in that car - Sport Plus. Once in a while when I feel like driving, I take that car, push my button... oh man... it's a Porsche. My Macan doesn't have Turbo sign :) so I have fun quite often. I will never forget faces of 2 dudes in G-wagon G63 AMG after they tried to be a king of a road. Passed me on a highway in Croatia at 180 km/h, I pressed my button :)) and here we go... right on their tale. They pushed to 200 km/h... I'm still there... 220... I'm still there.... Last try... 240.... and that was it, G63 toped out :) I passed them like they were standing at close to 270 2 miles later... both guys their faces were staring at me as I was passing them by as they were standing at close to 270 km/h. Sure, later on I regretted flying at such speed, but that was such a sweet moment. Cayenne - honestly I don't feel it. Cayenne is not my vehicle. Cayenne GT I never tried. I also love Panamara 4S e-hybrid. Perfect family sedan. When you drive it - you keep thinking that it's better then 911, because nobody really looks at you at ever intersection and no M3 guys try to get into a race with you every time you meet them on a road. Panamera is hidden Porsche, Porsche with no "obligations" of a sport car but... a hell of a sport car! I also drove Taycan Turbo S... one word - it's a quiet assassin... A-S-S-A-S-S-I-N!!!!!!! Never in my life I ever drove ANYTHING even remotely comparable to this car. You can't drive this car as a normal human being... it pushes you into a seat at 220 km/h.... If someone drives in a left lane thinking he is fast.... you just get behind him.... wait when he gives up trying.... and then push gas.... You understand, you pass him by at least at speed at least 50 km faster then he is going, regardless whether he drives 150 km/h or 200 km/h... Boys on Kavassakis and Yamahas just can't belive how you accelerate after they let you pass them at speeds over 200 km/h... My teeth dried out after of 2 hours of driving the car because I was smiling entire 2 hours.... This car is insane.
I've driven base Cayenne, Macan GTS and Carerra S. My favorite of those three was the Cayenne. It's amazing how big it is and how small it feels to drive. Maybe that's why I liked it.

Great vid. I have a question. I have porsche 911 and now I'm thinking of getting a car with more seats. I'm thinking Macan S (2022), Cayenne coupe S, and Panamera Sport Turisumo. Which one would you recommend and why? Thanks!
The best Porsche is the unreleased Taycan Sport Turismo base model 2WD. It seems very obvious to me that a rear wheel drive Taycan station wagon is the best Porsche for me. I have had my time in 928s and 911s, and I still have both - but I spend most of my driving time in a 1997 Tommy kaira M20b wagon - one of the rarest (and best) small wagons ever made. A Porsche station wagon such as the Panamera is too large, but the Taycan is superbly sized.
I’m really just looking for a four door Porsche that can occasionally take two greyhounds in the back with the seats up or down (not sure if the sedan body styles can accommodate that). Currently considering the Panamera ST GTS and the Taycan ST GTS. Trying to avoid the SUV and crossover vehicles. Leaning toward the Panamera ST at the moment, but I’d like to hear other opinions.
Great video, even if I'm not rich enough to afford any of those. Could you consider a similar format with other brands like BMW, say the best overall M car?
Great video. Overall my favorite 4 door Porsche woukd be a low spec taycan CT. It looks and drives better than the cayenne, macan and panamera imo. By the time you add a few options to a macan S you’re in the low 70s. A taycan woukd be in the mid 90s after the US tax credit. Add in a little fuel savings and ownership costs will be quite similar. Plus if you keep the car long term, there’s less to go wrong in an EV. When it comes to sports cars there’s nothing I want more than a boxster gts.
ownership costs? your tires are going to wear faster brakes are going to wear faster the batteries will be dead cycled out of lifespan within four years
@@Mr.Thermistor7228 agree on tires. Brakes will last longer though because the car uses regen for most braking. Not sure what you mean about the batteries being dead in 4 years. Plenty 8+ year old Teslas still on the road with the original battery
Thomas, Can you actually buy a new GT3 or a Cayman GT4 from Porsche, or are you forced to buy from specculators/scalpers at a hefty markup, given their access to dealer's allotments here in the UK?
In the US the time to buy was nearly a year ago. There were quite a few in inventory. I found mine with almost no markup... surprising as it was a discontinued color too. Now dealers here are charging markup like crazy
I didn 't know that you can speak english very well .I ve follow the spanish versión of your channel and as a fanátic of Porsche brand really enjoyed this video .
Ya u r right gt3 is overhyped and it beats pista and 765 lt in sport auto test by having 200 less hp. I don't know how a car enthusiast can say gt3 is overhyped.
I was lucky enough to be invited to a private event at Porsche Experience Center Los Angeles through my dealership. I told the organizer than everybody knows Porsche can build a sports car. But what really changed my mind about the brand was when I was given a loaner base Macan when my car was out for a couple of months. I felt like it drove better than most cars out there.
When I got the macan as a loaner I hated it so much. It felt too bumpy for what it is. Plus the gas is bad. Comparing the macan with a tesla model y I rather get a tesla model y
In the cayenne GT you feel you are being tossed around a lot more because the driver has the added stability of having their hands on the wheel in front of them thus being able to stop the side to side movement more than being in the passenger seat.
May I ask about your opinion of the “blind spot” near the c pillar in the Boxster when the top it up? Is it going to be annoying or even dangerous when you drive it daily in the traffic? Some people say, if you adjust the mirror properly and combine with the blind spot monitor, the visibility is not a big problem.
This C8 is amazing! With that said, not having it in a manual really is a letdown for me which makes me think a C7 Grand Sport with a manual would be a great car for those who love to row their own gears. Again great job Joe and Lori!

Glass roof has got to be one of the dumbest things you could ever specify in a car. Cars flip over very easily, and a glass roof offers zero protection in a rollover. I used to get taken to car crashes as a teenager, and so I know how common it is for cars to flip. You'd have to be insane to buy a car with a glass roof. It's like randomised suicide.

" base engine 4 cylinder "boo"..🤣🤣😂😂 Thomas is hilarious...sorry 🤣🤣🤣🤣💯🏆
1968 Porsche 911S (2.0)...!
Hm if they sit upright in the trunk, the SUVs will have more height than the STs of Panamera and Taycan.
They are the same space, if u get the sport turismo Wagon version or Executive of panemera u wont have any issues fitting things in the trunk
What did you get? I have a Pan ST and absolutely love it
Great video, even if I'm not rich enough to afford any of those. Could you consider a similar format with other brands like BMW, say the best overall M car?
Sure!
We also have videos like this: th-cam.com/video/dEQubj8fETE/w-d-xo.html
Hello everyone thanks for having me.
Nice Daytona white dial
Thomas, Can you actually buy a new GT3 or a Cayman GT4 from Porsche, or are you forced to buy from specculators/scalpers at a hefty markup, given their access to dealer's allotments here in the UK?
No idea sorry
In the US the time to buy was nearly a year ago. There were quite a few in inventory. I found mine with almost no markup... surprising as it was a discontinued color too. Now dealers here are charging markup like crazy
Need one of those. 911 if I had to choose.
Thomas, what watch are you wearing while driving the Macan?
The Macan colour scheme reminds me of the 2009 Clio Renaultsport 200
1. Panamera turbo s 2. Boxter GTS.
I didn 't know that you can speak english very well .I ve follow the spanish versión of your channel and as a fanátic of Porsche brand really enjoyed this video .
que lux vamos por el millon de vistas gracias .......
I like Porsche because it is an enthusiast brand.
Am looking for the one with Thomas Blue
=)
panamera vs 718 boxter which one to choose?
Panamera Turbo for me, please. Otherwise, Macan GTS
Panamera ✌️
Ya u r right gt3 is overhyped and it beats pista and 765 lt in sport auto test by having 200 less hp. I don't know how a car enthusiast can say gt3 is overhyped.
I say the 911 in general is overhyped when it comes to price performance ratio over the 718
Keyless is KEYLESS !
The Taycan is for boys who want to drive a computer. Real men and titans of industry pick a 911 or Panamera.
The best Porsche you can find only within the 911- and Cayman-Range.
in this year we plan to buy Porsche Macan
In my family we have a 911 Targa 4, Macan S and 718 GTS. If you asked which one we had to give up, it would be my wife.
The one that won't kill you if you leave it running in the garage. :)
hehe =)
I believe, someday I will have that car
I was lucky enough to be invited to a private event at Porsche Experience Center Los Angeles through my dealership. I told the organizer than everybody knows Porsche can build a sports car. But what really changed my mind about the brand was when I was given a loaner base Macan when my car was out for a couple of months. I felt like it drove better than most cars out there.
When I got the macan as a loaner I hated it so much. It felt too bumpy for what it is. Plus the gas is bad. Comparing the macan with a tesla model y I rather get a tesla model y
Find the best porsche?? NAH! All porsches are the best.
que lux vamos por el millon de vistas mis cancione gracias ........
And the winner is.... the boxster
If y’all really knew what it was like to drive a gen 1 Miata you’d be busting a nut. All that electric steering is just so sad.
I went to Porsche website(USA) and don’t see 718 Boxster T.
yeah maybe not every version is available on every market ....
Panamera & Taycan, and of course the Sport Turismo & Cross Turismo not the sedan one.
Thomas, what was the German word you said (Panamera - to describe flat and precise)...
timecode ?
In the cayenne GT you feel you are being tossed around a lot more because the driver has the added stability of having their hands on the wheel in front of them thus being able to stop the side to side movement more than being in the passenger seat.
May I ask about your opinion of the “blind spot” near the c pillar in the Boxster when the top it up? Is it going to be annoying or even dangerous when you drive it daily in the traffic? Some people say, if you adjust the mirror properly and combine with the blind spot monitor, the visibility is not a big problem.
Blind spot monitor is a must have imho
Best porsche is macan!
"Co-driver" ....You SO know my wife!
My man looks like Clark Kent
💪
How do you cross shop between all this ? joke.
Still nice compilation Thomas.
=)
When can you review the new Kia Ceed 2022?
Macan EV will be on the Taycan platform
Taycan 4 sure
in this year I want to buy a car
the new base cayenne steering is very loose , no good
Cayman GT4RS ! nothing else
❤ Greetz from Honda #TypeR #HondaNSX
Porsche сила 👍
This C8 is amazing! With that said, not having it in a manual really is a letdown for me which makes me think a C7 Grand Sport with a manual would be a great car for those who love to row their own gears. Again great job Joe and Lori!
wtf lmao this isnt raiti's rides mang
Wrong car
the taycan ev of course. only.
Der Kanal heißt Autogefühl und er quatscht Englisch....

Look, we get you don’t like leather, but you really stress animal free way too much. Other than that, amazing reviews. Very in depth and well shot.
Thank you very much for your interest in this topic. Please tune in to what the animal leather industry tried to do here with our channel: th-cam.com/video/nP_CvLlaFlI/w-d-xo.html
In general, depending on the animal skin grade, the animals are specifically raised for this matter. However even if meat would be the reason no.1 in other cases, the hide remains one of the most profitable body parts. That means: If manufacturers put animal leather in a car and you accept it as a customer, you give your money to an industry that earns money by oppressing humans, animals and destroys the environment, you make them more profitable. Also, if you turn the argument around "meat is the waste of the leather industry" you realize how biased the argument is. After all, would you care for which exact body part you would be murdered? Or imagine someone robs you on the street and beats you to death - would it matter to you if it was for your Smartphone or for your purse?
The animal agriculture industry occupies 2/3 of all farm land on this planet which cannot be used for direct human nutrition then. That is extremely inefficient. The no.1 cause for deforestation is the animal industry. It is also one of the biggest contributor to climate change. The amount of land, resources, energy and water being used is beyond imagination.
If you are interested in how the animals are being treated and transported in the global leather industry, watch this footage: th-cam.com/video/tkjCAmq1_8E/w-d-xo.html
Note that the footage is genuine and was recorded by a highly decorated investigative journalist in Germany I know myself personally.
For the alternative, you can either use artificial fabrics which can be made from recyclables (we have already shown a lot of vehicles that use great fabric seats from PET-bottles etc.) or more and more also from plant-based materials (like Pinatex). And even if you would create a seat completely with petroleum without a recycling share, the amount of oil being used for that is nothing in comparing just to once fueling up your car.
In practical reasons, fabric or microfibre seats are just more useful. You do not sweat in summer and it is not cold in winter. And if you want the slick look or something to wipe clean easier, that is possible with animal free leatherette.
And there are also new leatherette materials available which are superior in every aspect: th-cam.com/video/u94YXJ72UTA/w-d-xo.html
More and more natural materials are rising: th-cam.com/video/nRSsXEnwHDo/w-d-xo.html
Using animal skin on seats is a major issue of animal rights, human rights - and after all it is just common sense what is better both for the environment and just more practical and more luxurious for the customer. We cannot change what we have bought in the past (that also counts for ourselves of course!), but with more information and compassion we can change how we decide in the future.
Your english is not the yellow from the egg 😂

For the alternative, you can either use artificial fabrics which can be made from recyclables (we have already shown a lot of vehicles that use great fabric seats from PET-bottles etc.) or more and more also from plant-based materials (like Pinatex or Desertex or Miriam). And even if you would create a seat completely with petroleum without a recycling share, the amount of oil being used for that is nothing in comparing just to once fueling up your car. By ditching animal skin leather from car interiors, the amount of emissions (CO2e) is reduced by 85 (!) %. So it is the most important thing you can do to make car interiors more sustainable.
In practical reasons, fabric or microfibre seats are just more useful. You do not sweat in summer and it is not cold in winter. And if you want the slick look or something to wipe clean easier, that is possible with animal free leatherette, even in ventilated options.

I almost thought I was watching a porsche comercial. 🤦♂️
Not sure if Porsche would like that I blame them for being too expensive and slaughtering animals
👏👏👏👏👏
Glass roof has got to be one of the dumbest things you could ever specify in a car.
Cars flip over very easily, and a glass roof offers zero protection in a rollover.
I used to get taken to car crashes as a teenager, and so I know how common it is for cars to flip. You'd have to be insane to buy a car with a glass roof. It's like randomised suicide.
You may want to do a little research before you make a sweeping statement like this.
Taycan and it's not even close. 10 years ahead
Someone doesn’t know their cars 😂
@@BounceHeavenliterally turbo s 911 is top dog
Taycan for sure
Best at depreciation, anyway.
Until you need to change the 50k battery
3 hrs vid, come on .....
enjoy :-)
wow, thanks for the reply, I haven't finished watching yet.
I felt MACAN and Taycan are too small for me. Now I'm hesitating in between Cayenne GTS and Panamera 4S
Really dunno should I get a GTS now or wait for the new S@@autogefuehl
Thanks for watching!
