Before my dad passed away from Alzheimer’s is 2013 their major purchase was a 2002 Eldorado ESC with only 8,228 original miles on it. They owned Buick Centuries for as long as I can remember but my dad always wanted a Cadillac but was afraid what his church congregation would say so he never bought one. They finally bought an Eldo ESC in 2003 but it was the last of the 2002s available. They parked it in their garage and drove around the block once every 5 or 6 months. They only took it on one trip to go see my brother in Mooresville NC but that was it. When my mom passed in December 2023 it was in the same place my dad parked it before he started getting sick. I own the car now and I’m keeping it in a temperature controlled environment because it’s that special of a vehicle. That one material item represents part of my mom and dad’s hard work and sacrifice. Every time I walk past it on the way to my every day clunker it always puts a smile on my face.
apiece - thank you for sharing your personal story! I have the same connection to the 1980 Mercedes 450SL I got from my dad before he passed. These connections never fade. Thanks again for sharing!
North Star head gasket fix was very expensive and you could replace the car for less 😆 don’t take me wrong. They were beautiful, driving automobiles, but that head gasket WTF timing chain sprocket were plastic 🤦♂️
I just bought one. Yr 2000 with 48k on it beige and clean from a senior citizen… love it!
