If you look on the arm of the tensioner pully by the pully itself you will see a small square hole. That hole will accept a breaker bar or ratchet to give you leverage to move the arm to stretch the spring. This will not require as much brute force as it would without using a breaker bar or ratchet.
Use a longer piece of pvc pipe to give your ratchet more leverage. My older Cub RZT50 drive belt is a B---- to change. The square hole is not easy to get to. I also use a heavier piece of pvc pipe setup for my blade belt. I just purchased a used Exmark Quest50. Wanting a video on replacing its drive belt. Is it about the same as this one?
@@scottmisus4678 What do you mean? ( Pulley ) There is a 92-5771 TOOL-SPRING OEM but it only refers to deck belt spring. Nothing in owners manual about drive belt anything. Would this OEM spring tool work on the drive belt spring? I took pictures of drive belt setup. The drive belt tension spring is easy to get to.
Hello my dry belt did the same thing last Friday at 4:30 PM and of course the lawnmower shop closes at five closed on the weekends appreciate the video once I knew where the drive belt went. It wasn’t bad word of advice. There is a square hole there for a, half inch ratchet set where you can use it to ratchet the spring worked out. Perfect. I found that putting the blade belts on was more of a pain in the backside. I’m using my wife’s tablet. I am on messenger and Facebook.
Hey man, thanks a lot. It’s so rare that these belts break. I can change a deck belt one handed with one eye closed but this one was a little trickier. I appreciate your time and video!
Arrg. Having to take the blade belt off makes me want to take it to the shop. Mine snapped today. 😞 Need er running. Sounds like 2 hours of messing with it in the morning.
Thx for the great video. I've changed the deck belt b4 but not the drive belt yet. I guess you're not 6'3" & 235 lbs b/c there ain't no way I can squeeze under the mower without jacking it up! Last time my drive belt was changed was at 215 hrs, it's over 1200 hrs now & it's getting brittle & I'm getting a slight burning rubber smell, a noticeable loss in power & performance! How did you get the mower on the ramps without them sliding away when backing up on them? Lmk, thx Ps. I'm a new subscriber
Is it hard to replace a tensioner pulley my exmark zero turn belt came off that makes steering work now my belt aren't turning after I put the belt back on
The Power in "KNOW HOW" There is a square half-inch hole on the tensioner so you can use a half-inch break-over bar to pull back the tensioner to install the belt, "Peace of cake"
My belt just broke and was glad to find this video to show how it’s done.
Glad it helped!

Honestly, I’ve never had to replace it yet.

Or you can pull it with your hands.
I know im in the right job when I can read and swap a belt on Amy Lowe in less than 5 min max , John Deere’s drive belt is another story 😂😂

Thanks a lot!

Show me on a E series mower replacing drive belt please
Don’t have one.
Thanks
No problem
This is a newer lawnmower a easyer to change
Why is it so hard to find a video of a 2012 exmark quest. Cause I don’t need yours. Because your mower is so different.
Google the model number of your mower. You should be able to find an instruction manual. If not I’m sure a local exmark dealer could find it for you.
Mine is a E series not like that
👍🏻
Good hacks
Thanks!
So you jacked your wheels up first
I jacked them up so you could see under the mower.
Hopefully you won’t have to do that again anytime soon.Pain in the butt as you said.
Those are ramps, not stands.
👍🏻
