Hi Paul, its all about product life cycle. There is an enormous gap in European/Alpine/Pyrenean trekking online. That market would keep you going for the next 10 years career wise, plus enough walks to fill 10 lifetimes. Good luck with the merchandise - I like that hat I will get one for next winter!
Great job Paul! Congratulations on taking the leap. It is a very hard thing to do when you have a family to support. I have gone down a similar journey. I discovered Mr. Money Mustache and the FIRE movement several years ago. My wife and I decided to downsize and save WAY more than we earned. Needless to say, we got to a point where I was comfortable stepping down from my position and move to part time. We have a similar passion with the outdoors. I created my TH-cam channel and Facebook communities. I also created a local hiking challenge that has raised over $150k for environmental organizations. We have similar hustles with tee shirts, Amazon affiliate, guided trips, and education classes. No sponsors. All of these have added up. I hope to fully take the leap soon, but I have two teenage sons heading to college next year and the following and I hear that is expensive. Your journey has inspired me and have given me some positive vibes to keep grinding. Thanks for sharing and I hope you do another update after a year. See you outside.
I originally fell into this channel when I was looking out about wild camping rules in the UK, and keep coming back. It's like sitting with a tea with an uncle who can give you so great tips for your next trip out! Keep at it Paul! Only think I would like to see is maybe some useful beginner friendly hints on stuff like map and campus skills.
Hey Paul, I'm from Haarlem the Netherlands and I watch all youre youtube clips. Youre like a teacher for me and I think its awesome that you changed the way you life and follow youre dreams. Greetz Hans
Hey Paul, i work as a video editor for a series of TH-cam channels, and the point you make about people not understanding that you cant just make money by uploading the video is spot on. Alot of people dont realise that you have to look at other ways of monitising content or increasing cash flow through sponsorships, patreon-type membership models and merchandise. There is a balance to be struck between giving people the content they love and evolving your business. Some people will switch off, but many more will join. You should be very proud of the strides youve made as a content creator, keep up the good work!
Really appreciate finding your videos. Inspiring to see what you are doing and have also gotten me thinking about what to do with my time off work. Also have been a good advocate for wild camping in the UK and I hope to visit there someday.

I’ll definitely keep watching your channel
Don’t listen to the cranks , make your money how you see fit , the people who value what you do will stay with you 👍
Couldn't have happened to a more nicer humble bloke. I hope you can grow the brand so you can take on Jo full time too. Keep up the good work mate. 👍🏻 😁
People complaining about free content are the greedy ones. You keep at it Paul. Great channel. You keep doing what you need to 👌🏻
Love that you get to do what you love. And you taking it on full time means we get even more awesome content, so that sounds like a win-win to me! Good stuff, mate!
Don't worry about the haters Paul mate. Been watching you for years now and love all of your content regardless of how much money you spend! You're a true Blessner.
Keep up the good work Paul I always look forward when you release a video wish you Jo all the best every thing both of you do Jim
Good walk Paul, excellent explanation, enjoyed the insight,I’ve subscribed!….looking forward to sharing your adventures.
Love it Paul! I've been watching your content for quite a while now, it's great to see you happy and doing TH-cam full time! :)
Paul you are a great source of inspiration. Keep it up the good work you are doing for people like us thousands of miles away.
Greetz Hans
Very honest dude, much appreciated
Do the things you love, love the things you do!
