I didn't know 4 Truck was equipped with an EQ2B!
Right above Ladder 4 you can see the sign recovered from the old rig that was lost on 9/11.
Engine 54 hadn't gone back into service yet ... so Engine 5 was still there and since they hadn't received a ticket home yet they took in the box ... After the call they got a ticket home ... :-)
love ladder 4
nice work
@playswithboobs Believe it or not it was Engine 54 ... I believe that Engine 5 Acting 54 had not been given their ticket home yet prior to the call coming in so they were dispatched .... Thanks for the comments ....
You know working for the FDNY is an insomniacs dream job,They really don't get much down time between calls.
Yes ... They've had it since they received this rig in 2001, and the new 2011 Ferrara also has one ...
Great work keep it up
Great catches! 🚒🚨
@cfdcaptin1 Amen .... They will forever be in our hearts, and on our minds ... Thanx for the comments ...
You would be correct ... F=Firefighter A=Assist S=Search T=Team
I love this cpvideo
Wow, those two firefighters just barely made it on that second rig... hurry! jump on...
@Bilbodr They had returned from another call and Engine 5 was Acting as theme .. since they hadn't returned to their quarters(E5) Engine 54 parked on the street ...
Excelente man
Always the window down and the arm out, even if it rains
the engine out on the street looks like engine 168 's old rig
No it is seen here responding as Engine 54 ...
@kfrankhouser131 Thank You for serving your Community as well ... We are all brothers ... :)
That IS the station in the video ....
@Zantozzzz Sounds to me like you're talking about the hard suction hoses ... They are used to make the hydrant connection for a water source ...
It's kinda like a motto for the company ... Like in Chinatown the have the Dragons ... This company has the godzilla ...
@CryingShadow01 The BIG E5 on the front helps too .... :)
@FDNY8231- I saw fire in the caption so I thought FAST Truck right away.
It's my favorite spacer ... :)
There was no FAST Truck on this call because there was no confirmed fire (10-75)
@mrstix2306 Yes with a new Ferrara Rear Mount ....
Nice Job on the vid, I love FDNY but why was E-5 acting if E-4 was right outside the house?
@Zantozzzz Yes .... Exactly ...
This was when the EQs started rolling out, they seemed a hell of a lot special then but now I miss the old PA300s..
From what I gather they have been putting BOTH the EQ2B & PA300's in the new rigs now so the best of both worlds
5 truck sure took it's time
@Breezin36 they get in the truck outside the garage b/c theres no space in the garage for them to open doors and also to block vehicle and pedestrian traffic
@Airlick123 Special to you I said: I didn't know that these guys were the 2nd due companies... And I didn't choose fire engine or fire clothing, I just doing my job. I did not want to disappoint you. But if we respound second or third, we are try to go as quickly as possible. Standards for the respoundion and we exit the alarm has not been canceled and even our colleagues simply need help. (Sorry for my English). Good luck to you...
@1983Valiko That's okay I would have thought the same had I not been there to see it live ... :-)
@NYG1991 There was no FAST Truck because there was no actual fire ... No Fire = No FAST Truck :)
isn't this the station in Midtown manhatten where engine 54 ladder 4 and batt 9 is stationed?
Engine 5 was ACTING as Engine 54 ... It's called covering .. Dispatch sends another rig of the same type to cover the area of a company that's busy or out of service ..
Conditions are REAL bad in some parts of the city .. The Rockaways are in bad shape .. and also Long Island ,,,
No it will come from another firehouse in another section of the city ... The Starfire computer will normally handle relocation's ...
Shame Ladder 4 wasn’t using pa300
Ladder 4 was out of service ... The Ladder responding was 30 Truck who was covering for them, and they didn't have the PA300 in that rig.
They had not returned to service from their previous call yet so Engine 5 was still Acting as them ...
Not that I'm not glad to hear it, but I was under the impression that FDNY was no longer allowed to use Q's on their trucks?
I hate when the dispatcher's say language barrier and say it's a fire lol , did they say 'Fuego' or anything ? Lol than it's a fire the dispatchers should have a list of all the ways to say fire in any language so they know lol. Anything else can be a language barrier lmao
After taking forever to get out of the station these brain dead people walking in front of the trucks while they are pulling out is insane.
This is one circumstance. What about the ones that we don't see where they are under 30 secs.
Slow for a fire call.
And was that some random pedestrian stopping traffic?
@Airlick123 "I didn't choose fire engine or fire clothing" - I mean our poor country and our goverment.
@wannabenj Your right on the money with that comment ... :) I got video of these guys back at this SAME box this week ...
@NYG1991 That's understandable .. :)
@TH3GR1FF13 thats not for all the houses here...
@FdNy8231 True but there are sadly stations (well sad for them sometimes) that get 1 or 2 calls a day i bet...somewhere in the distant edge of the boroughs haha
@AngusTheCow95 The REGULAR Q's are banned in the city that's why they use the Q2B's ... They are quieter ... :)
They didn't have the wail and yelp in WW2. They are rather recent. That is why the rest of the world is slowly catching up to us and using our sirens.
@1983Valiko Hehe ... U camp out in your rigs brother .... ??? :) Also the first responding units on this call were on the street in LESS than 20 seconds ... That video is also up here ... These guys were the 2nd due companies ... :)
what are those big black tubes the engine trucks have on their sides?
@HaloSpaceAgency Yes ... It was recovered 3 months after the attacks on the towers ..
So is 5 Engine leaving it's own house to cover 54's?
And u wonder why there response times are so bad they take there good old time
@runhot0576 EQ2B. FedSig's answer to the "no mechanical siren" bullshit noise law.
that was engine 5 i know it by the godzilla dinosaurs on top plus i knew someone that works at that firehouse.
but why is it engine 5 and not 54?
by the way, are conditions really so bad in the area of NYC deu to sandy?
@FdNy8231 yeaa those ones. You mean that if they are near a lake or something they use them to get water from there?
@FdNy8231 a firefighter friend of mine in paris france told me that. at night when a call comes in they have 3 minutes to get ready and jump on the rig.
Love the americanos with their quaint trucks and WW2 sirens...
@FdNy8231 lol yeah, i thought somebody had commented that it was engine 5 acting as engine 54
If an engine were out for an extended period of time like on a call, where does that acting engine come from? FDNY headquarters?
Why do they take so long to roll?
In Ukraine we need 42 sec. for respound.... you need 2 min 31 sec. Very bed. (Sorry for my English)
Who was your FAST Truck?
Negative ... this was the old Ladder ...
Lol hate when ppl don't get outta the way
@familyguyjc It might be ... :)
Why was Engine 5 acting as Engine 54? Was Engine 54 out of service or on another call? Just wondering?
ruggged
What exactly is a FAST truck? I'm guessing it has something to do with rapid intervention.
@Zantozzzz they hold hoses
yeah but they still went some fire department don't even go
@FdNy8231 Sorry, my apologize to you... 20 sec - this is record respounding... Once more - sorry? I was not right (sorry for my English)...
You like using "..." don't you :P
Ladder left firehouse at 1:34 MARK. Engines should be right behind it. Why does FDNY take so much longer to clear a station. These apparatus', with constant air pressure for brakes, & battery charged & manned station, they should have cleared the station in 2 minutes.
Looks like they did ok if 2 minutes is the mark ... Ladder out at 1:34 .... Rest behind
Why is it some FDNY trucks are plain like these, and others are so ... completely pimped out with elaborate paint jobs of eagles and flags and special badges and stuff?
it is terrible with the lot trucks
Are people in New York really that stupid ??? Should have squashed 10 of them while leaving.
You know I hope I don't jinx the guys who drive the trucks but these guys are simply the best. They maneuver these monster trucks into a tight fire house and they maneuver the trucks thru these tight blocks and a ton of traffic without getting into accidents.God Bless the FDNY.
