Sauber didn‘t just have RedBull as a sponsor, they brought Mercedes back into F1 as an engine supplier. That is even weirder than RB and Petronas on the same car
they originally were meant to be a Mercedes factory team actually, just ran by Peter Sauber, but that plan didn't come to fruition - so that means we could well have gotten Mercedes team with Red Bull as their title sponsor instead
Why F1 ever changed these cars is beyond comprehension. People really should just stop watching the sport until we get these small, nimble, awesome-sounding cars back. You didn’t even need a fight for the lead to enjoy these buzzin’ hornets in action, that’s how awesome they were.
Also, they were hard to follow because of dirty air, and couldn't overtake for shit, which made for some really boring races. Monaco had zero overtakes on track. Zero. The main creators of drama that season were bad weather and cars breaking down, which happened more often than today. Plus, we had Jordan and Minardi on a downward spiral, already well far off the pace of the rest of the grid. It took a freak wet race (and some regulation wrangling) for them to score points, let alone a victory. All things which are remembered fondly today, but were kind of a pain at the time. I mean, I'm all for lighter and more agile cars. The ones we have today are flying bricks. As much as I want F1 to focus on reducing weight and simplifying the tech, I want them to focus on actually making cars raceable and providing on track battles. That's what we want to see.
Funny. A lot of people switched off their tellies at the time because there was no fight no for the lead or any on track action. Small, nimble, loud cars amounted to *_fuck all_* when it was a Schumacher/Ferrari benefits parade.
In 2003, for the last time (other than that one Formula E race in 2015), we had open-wheel racing in downtown Miami proper instead of Homestead or Miami Gardens, and there was a fair bit of carnage in that one. The stadium was also several renovations and name changes away from being the Hard Rock Stadium we know today. It was called Pro Player Stadium back then, the Miami Hurricanes college football team hadn't yet moved in, the Florida Marlins baseball team hadn't yet moved out, the giant white canopy over the stadium wouldn't go up for another 13 years, and obviously there was no FIA Grade 1 racing circuit on the grounds. Max Verstappen was 2 days shy of his 6th birthday and Lando was not quite 4.
Great era, great teams, great sound, awful track. I'd love to see Tom race other human drivers in a full GP using either the 2003 or 2004 mod. Somewhere like Silverstone would be mental.
Huge question for you Tom with this mod, love it tried myself but one huge issue I had is using it in career mode, more so practice programs..even at low difficulty there almost impossible to pass..are you having this issue as well or is there a fix? Thanks!
Is this assetto corsa or f1 2020? Do i have to have one of these games to actually play the mod? Or is it built in with both game and mod together? sorry for my bad english.
2:57 "Much like 2001" ?! Are you even a real F1 fan?! You have no idea if you think the 2001 championship went down to the wire! Oh my days, it's embarrassing. Are you trying to pretend that you know about F1?!

Wouldnt have happened if it wasnt for kimi
Interestingly enough they used Ferrari engines branded as Petronas, which makes the whole thing even more cursed
@@RandomGuy37 Weird, I didn’t know that, but that’s very awkward

@@RandomGuy37 it's like those companies pay to be advertised and they aren't actually loyal to each other

At times, change is good

Eddie Irvine left Jaguar and F1 at the end of 2002.
Yeah Weber and Pizzonia were there in 2003.
I love Kimi raikkonnen he was my favourite of all time
Fast driver, no bullshit just unlucky
the 🤮 emoji for miami definitely aged pretty well
Damn, only about three seconds slower than the current spec F1 cars in Quali trim.
Those cars are NOT slow
Remember these don't have slicks either so if you swap the grooves for slicks that gap will probably disappear.
Great era, great teams, great sound, awful track.

Seeing this makes me realise how gross modern F1 tracks are
You should take the modern f1 cars to Kyalami in South Africa🇿🇦, just to ad to your fantasy laps
Amazing video! Thanks for showcasing my mod 🔥
“you can actually race 2 wide through here”
Pierre and Ocon: “am I a joke to you?!”
I think Irvine actually retired in 2002. Antônio Pizzonia was the only other driver than Justin Wilson and Mark Webber I believe.
Justin Wilson was also driving for Jaguar, he got bought out by Jaguar and then got released at the end of 2003
Please, do the 1976 race in the very next F1 race.
Oh man, Miami just becomes a lot better track with more nimble and less downforce cars
It's a shame the onboard cam graphics are the best I've ever seen yet the replay/circuit cam graphics haven't improved in the last decade
Its surprising how fun these older f1 games are lol I have to say 2010 theough 2012 were the best though!
Yeah true but in the video it's Assetto Corsa
Prob gonna hold on this them car models don’t sit with me and it probably uses f2004 Handling
1994 imola would love to see you race as senna and win him that race
5:37 the way he says that is so funny
Beautiful cars.
Beautiful sound of V10 engines.
Fantastic drivers/racers.
...
Terrible racetrack.
Abu Dhabi as the next track for this mod
nice F1 04 menu theme song

The intro music is F1 2004 PS2 main menu isn't it ?
yes it is
Why is it so low resolution? Is it on purpose with like a filter or something?
2003 and it looks so good after remastering
Always entertained by your content, it's awesome!
Love These different track&car combo races❤
You should use 2010 Mercedes at Imola
What i have to do when my throttle and brake graph dissapered?
I’m here from the future and these lap times are actually quicker than the 2024 cars. Kinda embarrassing if you ask me.
Is this assetto corsa or f1 2020? Do i have to have one of these games to actually play the mod? Or is it built in with both game and mod together? sorry for my bad english.
Walt…is it possible to modify the carmodels as well? Back when i played F1, there where only Livery mods
What the name of the game ?
I highly dislike some of these modern tracks, like Miama, but I love the 2003 cars (well the older not boat cars)
Why do you put a visual filter
You play in beginner mode. And try the veteran mode, you won't last even 5 laps.
Tom mate , be a G and post the download link to Miami 🙏
Could you post links to the mods? Please
F1 24 when?
would be nice to see jordon and minardi bck in f1 as teams and not take overs
Should try 1980s cars if there a mod for it though
How many flash backs you use in this one Tommy lad!? 🙄
the years jaguars lost the diamond at monaco if i remember good ?
It happened a year later
@@yudhabagaskara98 thank you for the correction 😊
