  • The basilar artery is formed by the left and right vertebral arteries and supplies blood to the brain. Most importantly, it supplies blood to the brainstem. The names of its branches are logical but can be difficult to remember.

I have a completely occluded Basilar artery. I suffered a dissection at the base of the artery in 2006.
The symptoms I experienced was primarily extreme vertigo, wicked headache, and temporary loss of hearing.
I was sent to a specialist in Calgary and I still remember his first words to me. "I've never seen anyone with an MRI like this sitting in my office. They're usually downstairs."
Thankfully I did survive. I have some vestibular issues, which makes sense after watching your video, but that's about it.

I had a basilar stroke at age 25. July, 2023. So crazy to know how important it is 😢

do you know what caused it? Do you have any lasting affects?
I had one too at the age of 38. The artery is still completely blocked.

@@tchevrier I apparently had too much weight lifting at the gym, it was like a trauma, they said it caused the dissection of the artery... I have no symptoms so far (after 7 months - almost 8) and they told me I don't need to take any medications. I hope you're ok now as well. Sorry for my English, I'm Brazilian lol

I say this and I may as well be taking Chinese to a English GP ... I ask to be put on musical relaxing drugs but get a No? But They do work... I think as they relax the RVLM?? like GTN why Im in A&E....Keep up the good work vids help me a lot ...ps in for a mri on the kidneys you got to love them specialist Doctors for not lessing at all... ..One day they will think may be he has an Atlas out of.line and it is a SCI ...Having AD that is bowel triggered and walking is a No no😢😢..
