If you want it to last longer. Start with the air bleed open. Fan on for about a minute, then turn on pump and then close the bleed valve. Always cool it down between fills.
I was not even going to attempt to hand pump when I ordered my AT44-Long in .22 lol I ordered one of these cheap $169 pumps from amazon about 2 weeks prior to even ordering the AT44 as my first PCP. @@OTSA anytime !! I had the small what everyone calls the cigarette filter on my spark and if you pull the white cotton filter out of the inside of it it's wet after filling only one or two guns !
Being a springer guy, I don't understand why the Foster fitting isn't on the gun fill port from the factory, and is separate, and easy to lose. Can't be THAT much more to make it part of the gun.
Newbie here. 1. How long did it take to directly fill the rifle shown here? 2. How often do you have to change that air filter and is the filter replacement a standard size that you can easily find online to purchase? 3. I notice guys bringing a small looking scuba type tank with them to fill in the field. What size is recommended for that? Thanks
Sorry for the delay in responding. It takes about 1 minute or so to fill the Umarex Notos. Changing the filter really depends on how often you use the compressor, but I would say once a month average. And yes the filters are a dime a dozen on Amazon. As for the scuba style fill tanks, this compressor will fill small ones, but it won't be able to handle the larger ones. 580cc max on tank size. That goes for any fill tanks of that size or guns with tanks that size. 🍻
How would you use this if in the back yard plinking? Will a car battery w/ an inverter power this thing? I'm thinking not. Extension cord? Small gas generator to plug this into??? That's why I've never gotten into PCPs. Don't know anyone w/ one, and seems like such a hassle. 500 bucks for a tank?????
It actually can be powered directly off of a car battery. It actually comes with the proper cables to do so. PCP can be a hassle. It's an investment, and requires the desire for it. It's definitely not for everyone and there's nothing wrong with that 🍻
That's why I stress the 3 year warranty. I hate to say it but it would cost more to repair it than to just buy a new one. At the price these are, I would just outright replace it, or save up for a Benjamin compressor. Even then, I stress getting the warranty. These things can be fickle, even with the brand name stuff.
Reading the instructions for the compressors I have (No Name, Vevor, & Yong Heng) say to put the filter on the fill hose closest to the compressor, not at the gun.
The small 1 1/2" cotton filter cylinder should be at the gun. If you want extra filter protection, then you want a desiccant style filter at the other end at the compressor. Those filters are much larger than the little cotton filters provided with these cheap compressors. The reason those small 1 1/2" cotton filters should be at the gun end is because they trap the moisture better as the air cools. So if it's right at the compressor it's not going to filter as well since the air doesn't have a chance to cool before it hits it. So that's why you would want a larger filter at the compressor end, and the small cotton filter at the gun. No I did not cover this aspect in this video because it's just a review of a cheap compressor that I only recommend using for tanks or cylinders that are 500cc or less in size. But in my experience with this compressor for a few months now, I recommend adding the larger desiccant style filter at the compressor end. You can get a decent one from Amazon for around $15-ish dollars. They come with a lot of extra replacement filters and will last quite a while. That will add a much needed extra layer of protection. 🍻
Thanks, Riddick, as I start looking to transition from the break barrel and pumper rifles, this information is just what I was looking for. While I do like the Notos I'm thinking more traditional with a wood stock and I'm comparing the JTS Airacuda to the Benjamin Marauder. They seem pretty similar, and I'm pretty sure this compressor would handle either. No rush, the dentist is going to install a high quality air rifle in me on Friday, actually he'll be installing the equivalent of several. :)
who are you kidding here, you think you will be able to settle with just a wood stock rifle? hahahaha the Notos is essentially a snowpeak gun with an extra long barrel...its fun, cheap and hell accurate...as are PP750s, most Kral guns, etc etc
Get a marauder Pretty much everyone's first pcp gun and can be upgraded in the future to be a serious shooter for target shooting, even in competitions if tuned right, great for hunting, etc. Try to get the model with a Lothar Walther barrel. You won't regret it
Been looking at these budget compressors. Purchased my first PCP, and am currently using the hand pump. Its not terrible to pump by hand, but I’m liking PCP and will probably move up from my budget rifle. How long did it take for the compressor to fill your gun?
It really depends on the size of the tank on the gun. At maximum, this compressor can handle a 580cc tank. I say that because anything bigger and it could potentially overheat, and you will have to shut it off and wait, then back on again in order to avoid overheating with tanks larger than that. The Hatsan Blitz, which is a 580cc tank, takes about 15 minutes to fill from empty to full. After that first fill, it's around 8 or 9 mins to fill simply because you never want to run them completely empty. As for smaller tanks like the Umarex Notos or the Hatsan Jet, those take very little time to fill, at around a minute or two max. So very quick for filling those. Hopefully that gives you an idea on both the low end and high end of how much time it takes to fill. 🍻
I have the same exact pump. I cannot figure out what is going wrong. It works and I also got the 3 year warranty, my issue is it will not fill any of my air slingers over 3,000 psi. I have tried even filling 3 times to reach 200-250 bar but I can never get there. Any ideas?
Ty for vid…might as well cancel my hand pump order which is almost the same price as this…the 3 yr warranty is so inexpensive and is worth it for piece of mind.
Just a question, Can the air stay in the pcp Notos when not in use. Air compressor is not a bad deal comparing that to $500 I will listen to the noise.
Yeah you can leave the air in. It's actually better to always keep enough air in it so that it doesn't drop too far below the green range on the gauge. Once it's down to the edge of that green, I usually like to go ahead and top it back off so that the needle is up to the edge of the green on the full side. Definitely never fill the gun past that green range on the gauge. You can go up to the edge of it, but stay out of the red. The green area is your friend 😎🍻
First initial fill on a 500cc takes about 12-15 mins, then after that about 8 -10 mins to top off as long as it's not too far down in the red. The Hatsan Blitz is a 580cc tank and it fills it no problem.
Is it the first time filling the gun? Sometimes these PCP guns need a quick burst of pressure to set the seals and start taking air. The compressor isn't a quick enough burst. A hand pump, or getting someone with an air tank to just hit it with a quick couple bursts should set the seals, then you're good to go with your compressor. I'm just learning about these PCP guns myself, and this is something I'm recently finding out with these. Does it sound like any air is escaping? I know it's a silly question, but is the air release valve on the compressor closed all the way? Let me know. Hopefully we can figure this out for you
@@OTSA From empty, it's best to cock the gun first to stop air escaping through the barrel by passing the firing valve, cocking the gun closes the valve like a blast of air from a cylinder would..👍
I didn't use my gun for a while and forgot the procedure. I forgot to pull the bolt back. Pumped it like that for 3 minutes realizing the guage didn't change. Bled the line check things over this time i cocked the bolt and the guage moved a little bit but that was it. Did I break something? Hopefully it is fixable.
The difference between a good pump really just better cooling and a airr filter system. Quick tip if you want it a lot more quieter change out the fan to a brush less motor computer fans of the same size and more fans or cooling the better because when it does get hot it's hard to cool down and ruff on the pump you can add a filter so there no moisture going in the air tube that about 300$ difference lol🎯💯🛠️👍👌✌️🍻
A link to this compressor would help. There's a lot of cheap ones on amazon... What's the point of reviewing something that most won't know what it is?!
Would that separate power supply make this thing longer lasting then a self contained compressor? And do you just hook up that power supply to any plug in your garage?
Yeah it plugs into any standard electrical outlet. The wiring you see coming off of the power supply is already hooked up from the factory. All you will need to do is plug it into the compressor, and then plug the power supply into the electrical outlet. It also comes with a set of wires and clips to hook it up to a 12v car battery if you are out in the field and need to use it. I don't think it matters if the power supply is separate or built in. I guess one benefit is the power supply won't get as hot since it's separate. Otherwise I don't think it's going to matter either way.
@@OTSA Should I worry about mixed reviews on these things? PCP compressors can be dangerous oh thinking of grabbing a Seneca dragonfly for a back up plinker it’s like a PCP hand pump had a three way and gave birth to a self contained pew pew device! Did your dragonfly fly have any pellet picky problems and is it easy to pump it like my old daisy 880? And can it fling slugs also like my avenger?
@@pricelessppp If you're uncomfortable with the PCP aspect, then there's nothing wrong with that. The Seneca Dragonfly MK2 is a great air rifle. It's a little harder to pump than an 880, but the effort to pump doesn't get any harder with each pump, it requires the same effort regardless of how many pumps you put into it. I haven't tried slugs in it, so I can't speak on that, but I can tell you it's a really nice rifle and I'm sure it would fit your needs.
@@OTSA Thank you I miss shooting my avenger I’ll see how I like the pump is the Diana bandit any good? Break barrels are hard for me to chalk when you have to hold the barrel down also.
@@pricelessppp the Bandit is a great little pistol. It is unregulated and is best for 20-25 yards in .22. You can also put a stock on it if you want. A company in Canada sold me a camouflaged one for 60$ and now it has become my grandson’s favorite PCP when we go out in the woods. Mine shoots about 685 FPS with a 16 grain pellet and it was 179$ new.
An empty 500cc tank takes about 10 minutes to fill with this. 500cc is the max size tank you can fill with this compressor. However the smaller 50cc-100cc tanks take only a minute or two to fill. So it's really nice for the PCP pistols/carbines with the smaller tanks. That's mainly what I would recommend this compressor for.
@@pricelessppp for the compressor or the hand pump? The TuAuto Compressor should work fine. Regardless of what you get, I would definitely get the protection plan. It's worth it in the long run.
It's been doing its job just fine so far. It gets used regularly at least two or three times a week and multiple fills in one day. Mostly guns with smaller cylinders, but also one with a 580cc cylinder. Hatsan Jet - 1 minute to fill Hatsan Blitz - 8 minutes to fill Umarex Notos - 1 1/2 minutes to fill Benjamin Marauder prod - 2 minutes to fill. I did buy and add a secondary desiccant filter that I have at the compressor connection, while the small one that it comes with is at the gun connection. Just a precaution to keep the moisture down in the lines due to high humidity in my area. It has never overheated or even come close to overheating yet in any instances that I've used it, and that's even with multiple uses in one day. I make sure to keep it in a cool environment when filling though which helps obviously. The fan on this is an absolute beast and does a great job at keeping the heat down. But the price you pay for that is that it's LOUD lol.
Hell that compressors not that loud I have a noise decibel monitor it was quieter than my wife’s snoring. I know this for a fact I measured both noises.
For that new air gun I would have to ditch the fill prob and drill and tape a 1/8 hole in front and screw in a 1/8 foster fill fitting and just use the paint ball fill cover for a cap that way I won't loss it or forget it and can't find it LoL 🎯💯👍✌️✌️
Im about to go fucking insane looking for something to fill up a AEA HP SS with a punk ass 7mm "fill probe" peice of shit. Where can i find something to fucking fill it?
Well I can't guarantee anything as I'm not the manufacturer, I can only tell you my experience with mine. It's been running good for well over a year now, but I don't try to fill any tanks above 500cc. It's PERFECT for the smaller 40cc - 200cc tanks. That's really the size it's made for. It can handle the 500cc ones, but you have to fill in stages. Fill for a few minutes, turn it off and take a break, then fill again for a few minutes, etc until full. This just ensures it won't burn up the pump trying to fill a large tank like that. For the smaller tanks though, like the Hatsan Jet, Umarex Notos, even some of the smaller Beeman rifles, it fills those up in just a couple minutes tops. Perfect for those. 🍻

Well that sucks. I've been using mine regularly to fill a Hatsan Jet, Hatsan Blitz, and Umarex Notos and it's been great. I guess it's just another case of "luck of the draw" with these. Mine has yet to even get really hot, and that's when filling all 3 in a row. The Blitz takes 15 minutes to fill, and the other two take about two minutes. It can fill all 3 right in a row and still not get over 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Maybe I should play the lottery because I got lucky with mine I guess 🤷 That really sucks you've had that many issues. I guess that's the risk we run when buying cheap crap. 🍻
Strange how you do not say which brand that is. If it is a Tuxing then, No, these are not good. Junk, zero effective customer support. Don't believe me? Well find out for yourself then.
It's a Hatsan clone. There is no brand to it. It's simply an unbranded clone. Amazon is the customer service. I've had it for over a year and it is still going just fine. It's only for smaller PCP guns, nothing bigger than 580cc. 🍻
At one point sure, but HatsanUSA does in fact now manufacture them....in China. This is a TactAir clone, of their previous model with the separate power supply. Amazon provides protection plans of up to 3 years. Buy a protection plan with it, they are inexpensive. Then you will have 3 years of full replacement power if it ever comes down to that. This isn't some high dollar investment, it's a couple hundred dollar cheap compressor. You get what you pay for my man. 🍻
I have this one bought it April 2022 it gave out in November 2022 .Warranty i called about no response from manufacturer.Just bought another compressor with 3 year warranty
The warranty is through Amazon's Asurion. They have to replace it free or refund your money when it's through them, AFTER the manufacturer warranty expires. The manufacturer warranty is 1 year, but if it fails in that time frame Amazon still has to replace it if the manufacturer isn't responding. You have to contact Amazon and tell them the manufacturer doesn't respond, that you also bought the 3 year warranty, raise a little hell over it and they will replace it. Even though it says the Asurion warranty covers mechanical failure after the manufacturer warranty expires, you can still get them to replace it. Especially if the manufacturer doesn't respond. That's unacceptable. If it's after the manufacturer warranty then Amazon/Asurion replaces it and you shouldn't have to fight with them over it. I've had a few items from Amazon that I've had to deal with over this situation, and I've always been able to get an item replaced or refunded. Sometimes you have to get a little frisky with them, but it works.
Well if the old one broke back in November then it might be too late to get them to do anything. Unless they are still unaware? If you had the 3 year warranty on the old one, then definitely raise hell with em'. If you didn't, it will be harder. But for this new one you bought, just keep after them if anything happens.
It depends on what gun it is. If it's an Umarex Notos or a Hatsan Jet, Beeman Chief, etc then it only takes a minute or two. However a gun like the Hatsan Blitz will take a good 10 minutes or more.

If you want it to last longer. Start with the air bleed open. Fan on for about a minute, then turn on pump and then close the bleed valve. Not all of them are like that. Some do actually have the foster built into the gun. 🍻
It's definitely not for everyone and there's nothing wrong with that 🍻
Mine just stopped working all together after about 2 years. The pump and fan simply don't turn on at all. Any advice.?
That's why I stress the 3 year warranty. I hate to say it but it would cost more to repair it than to just buy a new one. At the price these are, I would just outright replace it, or save up for a Benjamin compressor. Even then, I stress getting the warranty. These things can be fickle, even with the brand name stuff.
Thank you, I agree with you. I got lucky this time, I took it apart, wiggled the wires, put it back together and behold it's working again. @@OTSA
I bought the same compressor and haven’t had any issues with it
i bought one of these 8 weeks ago with no expectations and its very good for the price
Love my YH .. its was around $250.
Shut the compressor off and let the fan run to cool off the unit . Yes, I have one of these. What sled is that ?
It's by the Allen company. Of course it's nothing like a Caldwell lead sled and significantly cheaper, but it's decent for the price. 🍻
Interesting i just bought my first pcp pump. Now i have to buy my first pcp 🤣👍
Get a marauder
Pretty much everyone's first pcp gun and can be upgraded in the future to be a serious shooter for target shooting, even in competitions if tuned right, great for hunting, etc.
Can those PCP air compressors be used outdoors in Arizona summers?
I have the same exact pump. I cannot figure out what is going wrong. It works and I also got the 3 year warranty, my issue is it will not fill any of my air slingers over 3,000 psi. I have tried even filling 3 times to reach 200-250 bar but I can never get there. Any ideas?
Does it come with a cord to hook to a car battery?
Yep sure does Nibs. Of course I failed to show that lol
Is it normal for water to come out from the end of the filter side Forster fitting?
Great Vid, packed with lots of useful info👍 Any rough estimates on how long this would take to fill a 500cc tank??
First initial fill on a 500cc takes about 12-15 mins, then after that about 8 -10 mins to top off as long as it's not too far down in the red. The Hatsan Blitz is a 580cc tank and it fills it no problem.
My umarex gauntlet.25 cal is not building pressure on this air compressor I need help plz😢
Hopefully we can figure this out for you
@@OTSA From empty, it's best to cock the gun first to stop air escaping through the barrel by passing the firing valve, cocking the gun closes the valve like a blast of air from a cylinder would..👍
I just got one. Thanks for this
Got one coming friday good video Riddick! I'll keep my handpumps for backup..
Just could not fall asleep before this video.
Thanks, and Good night!
Steve
What is the brand, model # and cost of this one? Thanks
Is the fan loud?
I didn't use my gun for a while and forgot the procedure. I forgot to pull the bolt back. Pumped it like that for 3 minutes realizing the guage didn't change. Bled the line check things over this time i cocked the bolt and the guage moved a little bit but that was it. Did I break something?
Hopefully it is fixable.
Did you add the specific air pump link to amazon? If not, can you reply? Thanks
thanks for the video . just the name or a link of the compressor?
It's loud😂 But a minute plus to fill up ain't that bad at all Happy Aloha Friday Riddict 💯🤙😎
Yeah you can't beat the ease of use! Happy Friday Hawaii 🤘😎 🍻
I don't have a PCP or a pump yet. I was planning to start out with a hand pump.
Nothing wrong with that, I have a hand pump too. That's how I started out.
How much times its take to fill up 2700psi tank?
So, your saying it pumps to 3600 pasig. What is the mane of it and how much did it cost?
Where can i get a hatsan adapter to that one?
I have the same one. I have over 500 fills/top offs on mine. There should be 2 fans. One in back and one on bottom.
No link?
What's the compressors name
How often do you have to replace those filters?
It really depends on how often you use it. On average, I would say once a month. They are dirt cheap though, for a huge supply of them. 🍻
@@OTSA thank you for the quick reply! I just got the avenge x and a hand pump but will need a compressor soon haha
Gonna come down to portability vs durability
Thank you brother.😎
No problem 🍻
soo funny and smart , theye made these with 250 watt scooter motors than have been around for decades .Super reliable , good torque so it makes sense
How’s the pump doing?
Still going good. It's what I use to pump any PCP gun I feature on the channel 🍻
A link to this compressor would help. There's a lot of cheap ones on amazon...
What's the point of reviewing something that most won't know what it is?!
Because TH-cam removed the link, it was originally there.
How long did it take to fill up?
An empty 500cc tank takes about 10 minutes to fill with this. 500cc is the max size tank you can fill with this compressor.
However the smaller 50cc-100cc tanks take only a minute or two to fill. So it's really nice for the PCP pistols/carbines with the smaller tanks. That's mainly what I would recommend this compressor for.
Did you get Amazon warranty for this even hand pumps?
Yeah I did say in the video I got the 3 year warranty. The hand pump I have I got from Pyramyd Air
@@OTSA Nice I should have done that to my pcp compressor lol but got hand pump in mean time. Is TuAuto a good brand?
@@pricelessppp for the compressor or the hand pump?
The TuAuto Compressor should work fine. Regardless of what you get, I would definitely get the protection plan. It's worth it in the long run.
@@OTSA Oh can you claim multiple times? After each replacement order can you re add Amazon insurance with the reimbursed money?
Thanks for sharing
Got me again Gman !! You're on it today my friend !
It is an excellent compressor...
Link please?
How is it holding up and how often are you using it?
It's been doing its job just fine so far. It gets used regularly at least two or three times a week and multiple fills in one day.
Mostly guns with smaller cylinders, but also one with a 580cc cylinder.
Hatsan Jet - 1 minute to fill
Hatsan Blitz - 8 minutes to fill
Umarex Notos - 1 1/2 minutes to fill
Benjamin Marauder prod - 2 minutes to fill.
So you don't recommend using it outdoors in Arizona summers? @@OTSA
I have a PCP. hand pump and will get an Electric soon just waiting for a good 177. carbine.
Hell that compressors not that loud I have a noise decibel monitor it was quieter than my wife’s snoring. I know this for a fact I measured both noises.
🤣
How much ????????????
Nice video.
I watched a video on one that cost. $2000!😳
Only one minute to fill up works for me.
no data on pump. FAIL.
I can not afford to buy any junk and I hope you can save me some heartbreak and misery.
Air Tampon...? 🤔
🤣
Too bad you couldn't be bothered to say the name of the product you reviewed. Or even put it in the description.

Maybe I should play the lottery because I got lucky with mine I guess 🤷
That really sucks you've had that many issues. I guess that's the risk we run when buying cheap crap. 🍻
Strange how you do not say which brand that is. If it is a Tuxing then,
No, these are not good.
@@OTSA Hatsan does not manufacturer compressors, they rebranded them.
This thing is junk!
@Off The Shelf Airguns Warranty is for my new compressor I just got 2 weeks ago .I'll definitely contact Amazon and seller again
Well if the old one broke back in November then it might be too late to get them to do anything. Unless they are still unaware? If you had the 3 year warranty on the old one, then definitely raise hell with em'. If you didn't, it will be harder. But for this new one you bought, just keep after them if anything happens.
how long does it take to fill the gun?
It depends on what gun it is. If it's an Umarex Notos or a Hatsan Jet, Beeman Chief, etc then it only takes a minute or two.
However a gun like the Hatsan Blitz will take a good 10 minutes or more.
