Wow. I never thought Volvo put safety airbag in the armrest at front seats. But sadly, the AEB didn’t work perfectly that detected the child pop up from the car.
I don't understand why Euro NCAP replaced the ODB test with the MPDB test? It can be a bit difficult for small cars but big cars aren't? Or look at how the C40 pushes back the barrier after the crash. May 25, 2022 7:15PM
Volvo currently has quite many issues with one Software Update to the next with their AEB. It seems like their training their Neural Networks to much (and not sophisticated enough). Overfeeding it. In our Polestar 2 there is a clear decrease in accuracy and increase in Phantom breaks during a 30 km zone. And since the last Update 2.1 it seems that sometimes the Systems dont work at all it says "unavailable" and you have to park the car wait a few minutes and then hope that it works again. That why it went to the dealership now. My son dose not trigger the reverse break either currently (he is not being used as a test subject ;), he is just not being shown in the camera as a potential risk)
what euro NCAP should have been doing for a few years now... is actually testing crashes at higher speeds, because in a highyway nobody is at 50km, it at 80km or 120km, thats the real test... Also.. i said this in another video about volvos crash test... one thing i never seen in crash tests, is what if the car flips over as a result of a car crash, what then.. how do the people inside of it stay (survival rate) and the car it self!?
I am surprised i was expecting more points 92% adult and 89% child is not enough for Volvo. Especially when we look at the body it is solid how can it be possible?
I still do not understand your logic. Volvo has been always over hyped "safety" product. This one got 70%, VW got 69%. Volvo ran over pedestrian, VW didn't. Nothing to say.
EuroNCAPs latest ratings have very little to do with actual structural integrity and occupant safety and way too much to do with seatbelt warnings and autonomous systems. Absolute BS and little to do with actual CRASH testing.
Probably there is some tests that isn't showed here, or there is some kind of variable that they need to include like features. For example, Mercedes c class 2022 have 80% score despite failing 2 tests in vulnerable road users test.
And a tesla recently took over and killed 2 people injuring 3 until it crashed because of something wrong with the software. Teslas that gets put on fire. Testla that has 40% failure rate with consumers of the brand. I dont think tesla is a bad car brand but i would rather have a volvo after the recent video
Volvo tests way beyond what ENCAP or any other institute is requiring to be legally sold. Volvo really goes the extra mile with many tests outside the standards.
It's rock solid, nothing is rippling, look at the panel gaps.

The airbags are in the seat and not in the armrest.
@@MagaGeneral thanks dude.
Every car 2022 and newer has it in Europe. It’s required by law.
@@chrisak49 *EU.
Well, that should taught kids a lesson not to pop up like this!
Central airbag for both passenger and driver is very nice.
A masterclass in safety
Not really, i would have expected more 2 years after the Polestar 2
*Hits child*
@@dominickpresto2572 I talked to the guy in charge of the safety camera. They are looking into this. Because the Polestar 2 performed better.
@@dominickpresto2572 well you still shouldnt take your eyes of the road
@@dominickpresto2572 It’s the child’s fault. Don’t run into the road.
Volvo For Life!!
design & safety very good, volvo cool
Big respect
I wish they let the video roll on the one instance the AEB failed.
That’s impressive ! I have one it’s amazing

To worship EV’s
It doesn't have difference, the barrier have the same weight as the tested car
@@eduardolorenzetti3282 No it doesn't. Barrier is 1400kg. C40 is 2149KG
Volvo=5 Star
I wish you'd put the speeds the tests are run at to give some reference.
The speeds are written 0:14
All tests have speeds written
I meant the safety assist AEB tests.
Why AEB in this car didn't work properly "against" child, whilst in for ex. XC40 it worked perfectly?

Volvo tests that stuff themselves
volvo safe car in world Sweden🇸🇪
the only eletric car that i would buy
cars are getting so heavy these days the trolley car is flying backwards after the crash...
It is pulled back hydraulically to prevent any unwanted collisions
Why was there so much noise from the first collision?
I farted

That clearly shows that you don't know what your talking about. Volvo is performing very well in corner cases.

Looks like Volvo it's losing its lead in safety. The Tesla Model Y performed way better than this by a lot actually.
