ND uses the portal the way it was meant to be used. They get guys simply to fill holes in the roster, but most of the core and regular players on their team are home grown.
Not the first national show to mention all the big plays Notre Dame transfers made. Sounds like Notre Dame did really good in the portal. Plucking players that make an impact. They recruit portal players like they do high school players. By film, fit, and need, not stars.
How does everyone magically forget that ND's #3 in the country in points per game, they got a lead and went into boa constrictor mode in playoffs, but they have won shoot outs when they needed to
They didn’t miss a false start, if you watch the All22 film, you can clearly see the UGA DL (97), jump first (before 11, who was called), and that caused ND’s 24 (Price) to move. It was offsides, not false start. The camera angle in the tweet by the UGA sideline doesn’t show what actually happened.
Right. The talent kelly has in baton rouge is unreal... absolutley egregious that they couldnt make playoffs. I really thought he was the guy in south bend...but freeman est a real culture...and makes ND likeable
The wide out for Notre Dame did not move until the defenders did, but lets be honest, it didnt change much of the game anyways and the refs were calling the other way all game.
ESPN just stop it please. We know that in the short term, teams like these four are good for ratings. However, any fool knows that in the long term, y'all need more SEC teams to be good. It's an insult to play with people's intelligence like this. We sll geard you guys saying wins and losses count for too much. We heard you say that Bama and SC should be in the playoffs. That happened! Stop trying to rewrite history, right in front of our faces. By the way, Ohio is the seventh largest state. Bigger than every SEC state, except Texas and Florida. Geez!
Georgia out weighted ND by 50 pounds per man on the line ND played that overweight to perfection proving weight of the linemen means nothing if the other team knows how to play them. MKL Go ND
@DJ7mph a bunch of nerds and suits picking for ratings is what it has been. But don't worry, they're changing it next year again anyway 🙄😂😂 Can't have 4 byes with 14 teams
Something I haven't seen anybody really mention that I think is worth considering if not just for conversation, ND realistically held the SEC Champions to a field goal most of the game. The only TD Georgia had was on a bust in coverage because the LB Bowen didn't pick up the RB coming out of the backfired. Had he managed his assignment I don't think Georgia would have scored again the whole game and stayed at 3. So to me looking back that game really was 23 to 3. And that's crazy to think about.
The Notre Dame wide out did indeed flinch, but he did so in UNISON with the Georgia defense players who jumped offsides. And as the RULE BOOK STATES, such a situation IN UNISON, goes against the defense 100% of the time.
Committee isn’t making any changes. Why would ACC or Big 12 as example say yes when you get a guaranteed 4/5 shot at getting $8M for conference when team is in quarter finals vs $4M for getting first round? No way committee makes a change. $ talks and $ says this isn’t going to change when it has to be unanimous.
Without a dog in the fight, can anyone unbiased give me a reason why the Notre Dame football team that has a starting quarterback unable to pass the ball is so confident from feeding back up players on a mediocrely good team?
Because he can pass, he just hasn’t had to. They just have efficiency in all aspects of the game. They score with their defense and special teams as well. It takes pressure off of their offense.
The missed false start was egregious but not the missed facemask that almost broke Riley Leonard’s neck. Notre Dame gets a TD on that instead of a FG if it’s called.
The fans?! The fans were angry because Ryan Day had a Ferrari but has been driving it like a minivan. Just like the players were angry. Crazy that the fans and players knew what this team was long before the coaches.
The false start was because the defense moved first Rece. They also missed a blatant facemask on Leonard. Not a single holding call on GA after ND got 4 sacks is also BS
I think everybody's talking about the fact that since the middle of the season you guys have been pushing these brackets for like if it ended right now and then you've been all over the nuts of Georgia and SEC so I'm not sure they're saying you didn't get what you want they're saying you as in you didn't get what you want
I love that Ohio State winning these next two games is a forgone conclusion, might as well cancel these games and give the trophy to OSU, the way everyone talks
@brendenstyre4784 i agree, I just think its crazy that everyone is picking Ohio State because they beat an overrated Tennessee and Oregon collapsed, all these teams are capable of beating each other any given day
@@getcloveryourself for sure. OSU has been very impressive their last two games and deserve respect, but to act like they are invincible or unbeatable is ridiculous. they lost twice and almost lost to Nebraska and Penn state. OSU is undoubtedly hot RN but I think OSU fans should of course be excited by the way OSU is playing but seriously need to eat some humble pie. Texas imo is the best team they will have played so far and their defense is much much better than Oregons, not saying Texas will win
@@likecake The roster expenditure breakdown I saw was Oregon- 23M, OSU- 20.5M, ND- 20M, GEORGIA and Bama were down below 15M The 14M is the payout Notre Dame receives for making the semifinals. It could go up if they advance.
Rece himself said one line throughout this whole podcast that absolutely kills the entire argument that the playoffs should have the 12 best teams in the country. 36:20 mark...."The best team doesn't always win, its the team that plays the best". Sorry Rece, you have been as guilty as anyone screaming for the best 12 teams in the country and you just contradicted yourself.

facts
I agree but gone lie it was close but we'll take it
Also his feet were firmly planted...it was really just a twitch of his legs
False start wasn't as bad as Face mask on RL run.. referees blew several calls on both teams.. no excuses...
please DO NOT give Brian Kelly any credit for any of what Notre Dame is doing now
Right. The talent kelly has in baton rouge is unreal... absolutley egregious that they couldnt make playoffs. I really thought he was the guy in south bend...but freeman est a real culture...and makes ND likeable
Howard Cross, Rylie Mills, Jack Kiser, X Watts, all recruited by BK. I am an alum, I do not worship BK, but he made us better than we were.
He hired Marcus freeman and I'm thankful for that.
11:54 refs were missing Georgia holds all night long... Let's not even mention the ball placements on the field that massively disadvantaged ND
Well yeah, they don't want to point out their own tricks, ESPN wanted Georgia to win, its no secret
The wide out for Notre Dame did not move until the defenders did, but lets be honest, it didnt change much of the game anyways and the refs were calling the other way all game.
We don't want Reece Davis to pick the Irish!
1. ND #24 did not false start on that play.
2. sacca is coming to ND as a linebacker, not a cornerback.
