    My memory of Cullen Golf Club. I'll never forget playing a mens club team match semi final when I was a junior golfer maybe 15/16 years old at Cullen. I was playing for Garmouth & Kingston Golf Club where I played as a junior and we won the first leg 7-1 at home before going to Cullen for the away leg the following week. From what we had heard about the course at Cullen the tie was by no means over. Cullen were nearly impossible to beat at home. I had one of those days where I couldn't miss on the greens and managed to win my match. I got in and everyone else had lost, we were tied at 8-8. So it was going to be a sudden death one hole play off to see who went thru- I was picked. I made bogey up the first and we lost. But I still love Cullen golf club.

    Another fantastic episode. Bits to watch out for - Big Randy doing his best baby giraffe impression down the steps, two extremely underappreciated short-game efforts at the 4th, Tron's three-putt from 12 feet that probably traveled 50 total feet at 14, and the varying volumes of whiskey in everyone's bottle towards the end of the round. I might be a birdie sip truther, haven't decided yet.

    I don't know which Randall-directed quote I like better: "How'd that stay out?" or "Like a daft American." The new captain is a human highlight reel, and he sets the bar high right from the start. Such grace and elegance on the death-defying downstair decline.

    "It's only blind the first time you see it." Respect that quote. Agree that I don't love blind golf either, but if a course is blind because of it's raw, natural elements, I'll accept that much more easily than if a bulldozer made it so.

    • @mangoman2148
      @mangoman2148 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm cool with blind shots where you can walk somewhere to see your target. For example, a big dune guarding the green short right makes shots from the right side blind, but you can see the green and pin placement by walking over to the left of the fairway. In that regard, punishing a poorly angled tee shot with a blind approach is a sound method of strategic design. Not a huge fan of 15 @ Cruden Bay either, but Soly had a good attitude. Don't let architectural snobbery stop you from enjoying your round.

    From 12:35 to 13:02 I was CRYING laughing at Tron and DJ just chirping away at Big Randy.
    Tron: "Randy, what are you doing?"...
    Randy: "Playing it up in the air!"
    DJ: "Like a daft American". LMAO
    (hits it straight up and falls at his feet)
    laughter.... DJ: "SICK!"
    Tron: "You deserve that!"
    DJ: "Yeah, that was GROSS!" lolololololol
    Then Randy somehow barely wiggles in a 3 footer....
    DJ: "hohohoho.... that's DISGUSTING!"
    Tron: "You're a scumbag"
    Randy: "F you guys (while giving the bird)"
    DJ: "You're a scumbag, Randy!" bwahahhahhahahahaaaaa!!! Best golf content and group of guys out there. No one comes close. Please keep Tourist Sauce going for years to come!!!

      We didn't on this trip due to time constraints. I believe DJ and Soly have played on previous trips. I'm keen to see what it's all about as it always seems to elicit a strong reaction from folks, love it or hate it.

      @christopherkulukundis3069 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@troncarter2056 having played it double digit times it really is the ultimate love-or-hate course. I've grown to enjoy it but always feel that they've tried to recreate the green complexes on the old with the wild undulations etc however the attempts come off as artificial and tacky making large sections of every green unplayable. I've come to realise that it depends immensely on where the pins are on a given day as to how enjoyable it is, good, fair pins = an enjoyable day and vice versa.
