I can see why Spielberg would have avoided aquatic scenes because of comparisons to Jaws, but yes, I’ve always expected it to be a prominent part of one of the sequels. The mosasaur was underused in JW.
Wouldn't it be awesome to see Segisaurus be the feathered dinosaur rumored to be in JW III? I think she would make for a perfect candidate! Imagine such a small carnivore turning out to be a big problem for the protags in the next movie...
Except Segisaurus didn't have feathers as far as we know, and I agree with Klayton that if they're going to have "feathered dinosaurs" in the movie then they need to do it right and only put them on animals we know had them (or similar features), as I sure don't want them to screw things up.

The creature was a small theropod with an avian bone structure, much like most dromaeosaurids. With a bit more research into the subject - which Universal and the team behind Jurassic definitely has the time for - it might be possible to conclude a decent answer regarding the plumage of this creature. With Colin Trevorrow having narrowed the subject down to "Dinosaurs we know have feathers" we haven't been left a whole lot of options. Paleontologists have been unsure of what would make "accurate dinosaur feathering" for many years, and while technically provable on many subjects, it is still entirely theoretical on most. That said, there aren't many dinosaurs that we know very well about that would be incredibly scary to see on the big screen. This new dinosaur would likely have to rival ones we've already seen make their mark on the saga, and I doubt they'll go with something as small as Archeopteryx or Microraptor. Also, using a dinosaur that would be almost exactly like the Velociraptors (like Utahraptor) might crowd the "6 foot tall raptor" niche in the series. In my original comment, I was only suggesting that with the right time, research and effort, Segisaurus could make an interesting antagonist in III!

Similarities in bone structure doesn't necessarily indicate the presence of plumage, and since this is so exceedingly speculative, it goes directly against Klayton's statement (which I strongly agree with) of only including such plumage on species we know had this feature (which is actually a pretty short list), since there is no evidence of such on Segisaurus, and so I don't want to see such features on the animal.

The plesiosaur would have to be genetically modified to allow for more neck movement inorder for it to stand a chance against mossasaur, but if they removed the neck bone constraints I could see it using it’s neck as a constrictor snake uses it’s body, wraps around the body and bites the neck and the two thrash into the depths, but mossasaur would easily win.

Ooooooooh the Euoplocephalus !!!! That was probably my favorite dinosaur name to say out loud as a kid. Being a german, we pronounce it in the non-anglified old school greek way like it's *clears throat* supposed to be ;) Oioplo-sephalloos is what it should sound like and BOY that OIO at the start and the CEPHALUS ending (which is a greek word commonly used in medicine so that many people have ONCE OR TWICE heard it, which makes it a super smart sounding word ^^) just makes it sound so strange yet so educated... It was the kind of word that made people think I was a way smarter kid than I really was^^

I was expecting troodon to be on the list just for the horror factor. I remember you mentioning it in a previous video but having it in the Jurassic world evolution game sold me on it because of how efficient at killing an entire park of dinos it can be. It was one of the most aggressive ones to keep content in the game for me and it killed all edmontosaurus in my park and killed plenty of guests when it broke out

I feel this dino is important in relations from the jp1 when Dr. Grant talked about dinosaurs relating to birds. And if played the role watching the archaeopterx chasing a dragonfly there could be a great fitting scene to downsized dinosaur more birdlike. The ending should be an important thought to. I was thinking a badlands scene facing the West sunset focusing off dino skeletons lifting up to the sky with a comet. Pretty meaningful no actors present just nature itself.
Maybe Tuojiangosaurus, & Torvosaurus. Although they haven't ever been featured in any JP/JW franchise, yet it would be really great to look at one. Especially if there is a conflict between Tyrannosaurus & Torvosaurus, or maybe a classic Tyrannosaurus vs Ankylosaurus battle. Well there can be introduction for dinosaurs like Celurus, Othnielia, Ornitholestes, Mussaurus or Hypsilophadon, which has been featured in jurassic park novels. Although there had been all along a charcharadontasauridae were missing, so from that aspect I think Acrocanthasaurus would be perfectly suited to fill that gap.

True! But also, the aquatic reptiles sadly have only a minor role. I'd like to see the elasmosaurus, the liopleurodoan and ictygosaurus. And on land I miss the Troodon. It was the most multifunctional dinosaur ever. It was omnivore which is an exception in the dinosaur world. It could hunt in daytime, but also at night. This is thanks to it's eyes. There is even speculation that some subspecies of Troodon lived in regions where used to be ice in winter!
Yeh... yeh... I'd love segisaurus or edmontosaurs since it's a huge hadrosaur. Would absolutely adore micoceratus, adorable little bugger. Would love that or any other small herbivore or carnivore likr segisaurus, very unique and cool dinosaurs. Gotta love that diversity.
I say we need some sort of Therizinosaurus. It’s been sidelined in Jurassic Park and in dinosaur media for far too long. Imagine a tense scene with a bewildered therizinosaur as it takes swipes at the heroes. It’s cool!
I really want to see Giganotosaurus (this is my favorite dino, so you know). But also, I think VERY, but VERY interesting will be Yutyrannus appearance in JW III. First thing, this will be the first feathered dinosaur, ever seen in entire franchise. Also Yuty is very beautiful (it names, Yutyrannus huali, means beautiful feathered tyrant), and quite big. AND another dino I really want to see is Therizinosaurus. I think the way in this dino could be shown, could be interesting. Because we all know, that almost none of all dinosaurus in JW and JP looks like their real equivalent. And Dimetrodon. Yeah, this could be the first type of that animal. I mean how it looks, way how it moves and other things.
I like these picks Klayton. But I would absolutely love it if Dilo could return. I don't know if it's in any JP/JW lore that I know of but I would love for Giganotosaurus, therizinosaurus and monolophosaurus to make an appearance. You could even have Giganotosaurus as the main villain for JW3 and Monolophosaurus to add to the size roster of medium carnivores. And Therizinosaurus, well it's Therizinosaurus what more could I say😁 great video Klayton.

It's been greatly overlooked, and never mentioned anywhere in any JP material (as far as I'm aware at least), but an Oviraptorid would be awesome.

But sucomimus is in jurassic world when the ACU pass the river rafting and it's there with the stegosaurs

I say we need some sort of Therizinosaurus. It’s been sidelined in Jurassic Park and in dinosaur media for far too long. Imagine a tense scene with a bewildered therizinosaur as it takes swipes at the heroes. It’s cool!

I really want to see Giganotosaurus (this is my favorite dino, so you know). But also, I think VERY, but VERY interesting will be Yutyrannus appearance in JW III. First thing, this will be the first feathered dinosaur, ever seen in entire franchise. Also Yuty is very beautiful (it names, Yutyrannus huali, means beautiful feathered tyrant), and quite big.
AND another dino I really want to see is Therizinosaurus. I think the way in this dino could be shown, could be interesting. Because we all know, that almost none of all dinosaurus in JW and JP looks like their real equivalent.
And Dimetrodon. Yeah, this could be the first type of that animal. I mean how it looks, way how it moves and other things.

I like these picks Klayton. But I would absolutely love it if Dilo could return. I don't know if it's in any JP/JW lore that I know of but I would love for Giganotosaurus, therizinosaurus and monolophosaurus to make an appearance. You could even have Giganotosaurus as the main villain for JW3 and Monolophosaurus to add to the size roster of medium carnivores. And Therizinosaurus, well it's Therizinosaurus what more could I say😁 great video Klayton.

The Segisaurus just looks like a bigass Compy, that may be the reason we haven't seen it to prevent confusion between the two
