Might be a dumb question, but why does the hot staging ring need to be separate? Couldn’t the top of the booster just be built strong enough to withstand the staging?
This version of booster cannot handle the weight of the ring for landing burn, the Booster is very outdated and wasn't designed for the hostage ring, the hostage ring is only a temporary solution for staging
