    My comment has been deleted twice! There's a store called jet pens that you could search for D1 refills. They have the jewel version. The only problem with jellyone refills is that they don't last long.

      What's a "jewel" version?

    Wow - that fits a lot into a standard size pen. Thanks for sharing.

    That is a nice pen! I switch between a mechanical pencil and a pen multiple times a weeks at work. This could be a all in one! Thanks for the review!

    Super cool that you can cycle between the different inks and pencils. Also really cool if they are made by blind people. Thank you for showing it!

      I need to confirm that from multiple sources. But yeah, it would be cool if they were made by blind people!

    Many of the contracts the Govt/Military gives out. They will “prioritize” certain groups or institutions. Like a US Veteran owned buisness or Americans with Dissabilities. The “Berry Amendment” mandates that certain products the US Govt makes… have to be manufactured by Americans in America from American materials. By law. I believe when the Govt does contracting. You’ll be incentivized if you fall into certain categories. I know much of the textile materials. Like poncho liners and whatnot issued when I was in the Marine Corps were made by companies who employed a certain number of partially or permanently blind Americans. This being an NSN’d product made for the military… it’s probably why it was made by those with visual impairments. As far as my experience… there is no degradation of the quality/quality control with the products from these companies. Blind people can make quality American made stuff!!! :)

      That is great to know! Sometimes our military and government can do some good.

    Is refilling the pencil easy?

    • @SurvivingtheDaily
      @SurvivingtheDaily  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      When comparing it to a standard mechanical pencil, we're placing the lead in this one, it takes one extra step. And you're replacing it from the bottom of the barrel instead of the top.

      @@SurvivingtheDailyCan you replace the pencil compartment completely? And put another pen refill?

    Pens are something I think we all need to really consider how many we actually need versus want these days. We don't need to write that much these days, due to phones, tablets, laptops, etc. I bet if one were to do a survery of how many pens are laying around unused in American drawers, we'd be shocked.

      All very good points. It really is a lost art. When taking notes, I retain a lot more when I write it down verses type it into a device. Apparently we use a different part of the brain for each. I don't know if we have progressed in this area.

      @@SurvivingtheDaily you are correct about retaining the information better if you write it down, there is plenty of research to back this up 😉

      I take meeting notes in pen and pencil on paper because I use more than just words, and sketch ideas and thoughts. I review them after the meeting and digitize only the key items in OneNote. If I open my laptop during the meeting, I get distracted, multi-task, and am not as engaged. Plus I am a pen and pencil nerd, so it just makes me happy. To each his own.

    The FOD stands for “foreign object/debris”. In the military on the flight deck… you’ll see all the junior rates in a huge line… and they walk the flight deck from end to end doing a “FOD walk”. Their all looking for tiny little objects. Like springs or rocks or anything that’s not the flight deck. All of the FOD can be “ingested” by the aircraft’s engines. And cause serious injury or “un aliving” for the crew or pilot. So when they say “FOD” I believe that is to show that there are no little pieces that could pop off and be ingested by an aircraft’s engine. Not 100% on that… but pretty sure. Thanks for the video. I just ordered one of these. Looks like an awesome three in one writing implement.

      Jeesh! I love military acronyms. Lmao

    • @jastrapper190
      @jastrapper190 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@SurvivingtheDaily it’s a culture onto itself. Tennis shoes become “go fasters”. A flashlight is a “moon beam”. A wall a “bulkhead” the floor is the “deck”. Doors are “hatches”. Pens are called “ink sticks” or “writing implement”. Books are called “knowledge”. And on and on. I was in the Corps… so much of our terminology has a nautical bent/tradition. It truly is like learning another language… and then you add in the acronyms. Lol.
