The Congregation of the Fathers of Mercy, which was founded in 1808, originally under the title of “The Missionaries of France.” The community was founded for the purpose of re-evangelizing the people of France after the Catholic Faith had been subjected to years of attacks and persecution during the French Revolution. It is now exclusively an American community. The Generalate of the Congregation is located in Auburn, Kentucky. The primary apostolate of the Fathers of Mercy is to conduct parish missions and retreats throughout the United States and other countries when called upon. The Congregation also staffs The National Shrine of Our Lady of Champion in Green Bay, WI, and two rural parishes in the Archdiocese of Louisville, Kentucky.
Thank you for bringing up Harrison Butker’s speech. More priests could have easily brought it up in their homily to be reminded that we must stand in Truth. I’m a traditional Catholic and his speech sparked an interest to attend the Latin mass more often.
I listened to the commencement speech in entirety...heartfelt and truthful..no wonder people were offended. God bless that young man, and God bless you father, for this faith filled speech/ sermon.

Amen and AMEN!!! I thought Mr. Butker's speech was eloquent, refreshing and beautifully said. God bless him. And, thank you to you too, Father Wilton. You ARE helping conquer the world for our Lord. You have definately helped me, and no doubt countless others, through your Spirit filled proclamation of the Word of God and repeated homiletic exhortations and encouragement to draw ever closer to the Word of God, to His Church, and thus to Him through 1) prayer, 2) regular participation in the Holy Sacraments, and 3) knowing Church techings (Catholic Catechism, etc). You are a faith-filled and courageous shepherd of God's children. May God continue to work through you and bless the ministry and mission He has called you to.
"O Lord, may You find shelter and rest gently within the heart of Thy priest... Make him, O Lord, a priest according to Thy heart: meek, humble and zealous, so that all he does will be for Thine honor and glory. Mold him into a man of prayer and labor, insensible to earthly things, and sensible only to Thy love and to the graces of the Holy Spirit." Amen. I encourage all who read this to become a spiritual mother or father of our priests and pray this prayer daily for Father Wilton and ALL Priests, Deacons, and Seminarians. Also prayer warriors, lift daily this prayer to our Blessed Mother Mary, the "Immaculate Queen of Heaven and Earth, refuge of sinners, and our most loving Mother, to whom God willed to entrust the entire order of mercy." 😌🙏🕯🕊
