A Temptin' Tribute To Norman Whitfield | Happy Heavenly Birthday, Norman!

Today my Temptations Community, we have another celebration! Yesterday would've been the Temptations well-known producer the late, great Norman Whitfield's 84th birthday!
There is no need to describe the man's genius that help reshape the Temptations sound and their continuing huge success in the 60s and early 70s! When he took over as the Temptations main writer and producer, Norman gave them a whole different sound than what they had with Smokey Robinson. He gave them a more edgy, touching, psychedelic, funky, and a whole lotta soul. Norman gave us such classic Motown songs like "Ain't Too Proud To Beg," "(I Know) I'm Losing You," "You're My Everything," "Cloud Nine," "I Can't Get Next To You," "Just My Imagination (Running Away With Me)," "Papa Was A Rollin' Stone" and many more classics that he written.
Most of the songs he written were also helped by other legendary Motown writers, as they were Barrett Strong, a few with Rodger Penzabene, and a couple with Eddie Holland. Another thing to add to his legendary status, Norman was the first Motown producer, along with the Tempts being the first act to win a Grammy award for their hit song "Cloud Nine" in 1969. He continued to win a few more with "Papa Was A Rollin' Stone" a few years later in 1973. Norman had a great 7 year run (1966-1973) with the Temptations and written and produced so many classics that a lot of us still love today! Norman was definitely a very important piece to their already huge success. Thank you, Norman Whitfield for your contributions to the Temptations and being a not just Motown legend, but a legend of your own.
