I've had this IEM for about two weeks now. It works really well with Divinus Velvet wide bore tips. Also if you want a bit more sub bass, if you have a 15 or 25 Ohm impedance adapter lying around it does wonders with this IEM. Only affects the bass and leaves the rest of the IEM alone.
They do decrease planar timbre somewhat, making them easier to listen to for prolonged periods. 50 Ohm balanced adapter from Penon is a great option, too. In any case, impedance adapters are a must with these, else braindamage is real. They really should be priced $100 less or so, if only just to afford those adapters.
@AntonYadrov777 Sorry, L take honestly. These are phenomenal IEMs that are totally worth their price. The adapter thing is just a nice gimmick to have.
@@MidBoss2998 do you even realize how many people are sensitive to mid/upper treble, especially BA and planar timbre, to the point of severe migraines, nausea and tinnitus can that last for days? Hyperacusis is real. Just because something doesn't affect you, does not mean it's the same for everyone. It is honestly scary how many people cannot comprehend something this basic...
@AntonYadrov777 I'm sorry but tinnitus can be caused by loud noises not by high frequency unless you crank your music up to concert levels. If you have a pre existing medical condition okay sure, but then there are literally hundreds of other tuned IEMs on the market as alternatives.
Awesome review, Andy! I was looking at getting this set but I'm thinking I would be happier with the Hype4. I love my Chopin so much out of all the IEM's I have and it seems like the Hype4 would be an upgrade from the Chopin, tonality speaking of course.
This one seems to be polarising, with reviewers either praising or panning it. Personally, I think that is a good thing because it means the Braindance does something off the beaten track. Thanks for the comprehensive review (most reviewers don't bother with trying the various stock tips)!
Being off the beaten track doesn’t necessarily make something good, this one’s a real miss without the impedance adapters. It’s like having a broken leg and calling it “quirky”
Ahh Andy I was expecting some comparison between your fiio fa19 an shure elecrtrostatic, regarding details stage and separation. As it seems it only got flaws in bass department and if it has good driver then peq might take it to next level. Gd explanation still, thx for review. ❤
@AndyAudioVault Wow as expected. I hope you get hands on other new sets like alpha omega ra, tea pro n hbb punch, as your reviews have great comparisons. I own dc04 and dc07 because of u. Thanks for the reply. ✌️
i think even that size and weight is still comfortable to you is because you have develop a good ear muscle after so many iem tested in this channel. 🤭
hi Andy, I'm very satisfied with your recommendation on tanchjim 4U, and I used it either on setting monitoring or neutral; now my question is would this BD be suitable for me ? and what would I get extra from BD compare to the 4U had given me ? thanks 🙏 and pls reply.
Yes I would say BD is aligned with 4U tuning and offers more resolution overall, so this may work for you especially if you already like 4U (Monitoring/Neutral switch)
Nice review like always...you already have HYPE 4 but i see in all of your video, is still no review for Hype 4...will you review it later ? 😁🫡, i want to hear from your insight...but THANK you... next i want to ask...this BRAIN DANCE need proper source, is my OLD DAC like TRUTHEAR SHIO can handle this DUNU DK3001BD (properly) ??? because im still hunt for upgrade IEM... THANKS 👍⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Thanks. No I will not have a full video review of Hype 4 because I personally find it not to my liking and will likely be a video of me talking about less favorable things about it. I would rather not do that. SHIO is 4VRMS from the 4.4mm BAL so it is more than enough
Hi Andy! You recommend the Onix Alpha dongle. But they say that it is not compatible with all devices. I want to buy this dongle and I don't know if it will be compatible with my REALME C51 smartphone? I'm afraid I'll waste my money. Can you clarify?
@ yeah. Haven’t heard but two deal breakers, lack of mid bass and harsh treble. Unfortunate because It’s a unique design/make up and im a cyberpunk guy. I’m lucky as I just bought 2 sets around this price and the madness just might stop now as they’re what I was looking for.
DK3001BD uses the Micro Planars for high frequency and it sounds like many other BA type of Treble which is highly detailed, crisp and resolving versus the airy Magneto Static
It's no where near being a Basshead IEM. Also some of the highest end TOTL IEMs I have tried so far are largely V curved which happen to be one of the most favored tuning still. Variance in tuning style exists to cater for different needs. Just because they differ from our taste does not mean they are trash

@@AntonYadrov777OOOOO penon sells 4.4mm impedance adapters!? I've been looking on aliexpress for some and I can't seem to find any in 4.4
Thanks for the review You saved me money on this one...
You are most welcome!
Seriously looking forward to your upcoming timeless ii review! Been binge watching all your videos, our tastes match up really well
Thanks. It's coming soon. I am just a bit busy now
Thanks for the detailed and thoughtful review. It is really helpful in the search for the next item.

Definitely Hype 4 or Xenns tea pro would be a nice upgrade from chopin.

Hi Andy, thanks for this great review!
My pleasure!
finally, i can consider this option as my new sidegrade for elysian pilgrim.
I hope you are a treblehead. 😢

FA19 will still be superior with outright details and layering versus DK3001BD. So does Shure KSE1500 which operate on its own territory of supremacy

Haven't heard it yet but the midbass and treble gain looks like the opposite of my preference.

What is the score on your IEM SCORE table?
Already updated. Thanks
Your iem has 2 pin connector? But all the online ones have an mmcx connector. How is that?
I guess mine was another variant released after the initial batch

Unfortunately I don't have Realme C51 to test so I can't be sure if there will be problems with ONIX Alpha Xi
@@AndyAudioVault ok
All this needed was some mid bass to balance that treble. Could’ve been great. Many will pass.
The treble is too harsh for me, even while using an impedance adapter. 😢

Are most reviewers treble-heads or just deaf? I was also eyeing this model. Not anymore.
@@FabioKasper not deaf but sponsored.
Wow MP145 at 14.5g? Let’s go buy toto.
Jom!
I do notice that because of their weight, the MP145s ever so slowly try to creep out of my ears...😂
What do you prefer, this iem or 64 audio u4s ?
Me personally? I always use SIVGA Nightingale or Letshuoer S12 2024 all the time over everything else I have with me
Is this brighter than the FA19? Thanks, Andy.
Yes. A little brighter
How good the treble compared to est driver iem ?
The treble is too harsh for me, even while using an impedance adapter. 😢

Brain damage

Can't be as bad as my TIN HIFI-G2 but not for me. Then again no iem is for me, as my ears don't accept them
Dang those are so big you can barely fit them lol.
