Aw, touch to non-touch buttons :(. And it's so interesting how this is from 1990 & it has those Westinghouse lanterns that they discontinued in like the 70s. I guess Atlas used them for much longer.

Yes, Atlas used them until the end of the first generation of the Classe A model until around 1992. Then the 2nd generation of it had electronic systems and components. If I'm not wrong Atlas probably used the Westinghouse lantern for some 40 years, I saw them even some early 1960 Atlas "Ciclomatic" ones with pop-out buttons.

Well Atlas had a technical partnership with Westinghouse back then, so it's not a surprise to see some Westy traits on Atlas elevators.

I know I just find it interesting how I guess they kept those lanterns longer than Westy did.

That's not really a 5500 mod, but it was modded with Linea.

      Isn't it like a 6500 or something?

    • @idl3k_elev

Hard to tell, because as far as I know, when an old elevator gets modernized with a Schindler 6500 the old car is completely replaced with a new one. The same thing goes with Schindler 6200 (for elevators in narrow staircase) and 6300 (a model which is based on the 3100/3300).

Probably just a "slap on" mod to look like a 5500 because I doubt this is a real 5500. The original elevator car seems to be retained after the mod. Door operator is probably Fermator.

Well... probably. I'm not too sure about Schindler's modernization models for this market, if this was in the US, no doubt it'd be a 6400NA. Atlas Schindler mods are kinda strange... there's even a version of Linea 100 with an older NeoLift indicator and internal chimes similar to that of the 500A. It's a strange thing they did to offer a modernization model they had, but with a new design. "BS GS Mod Global", they're called, although they're not the ones used here.

I found a similar case last year in Spain where there were two old elevators that had received an FIGL touch sensitive slap on mod. I doubt they're Schindler 6300, because as far as I know the Schindler 6200, 6300 and 6500 doesn't retain the original elevator car from the old brand. Instead, the old car is replaced with a completely new one.

    • @livionaves
      @livionaves  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1
