I love your content, you are doing a great job and your content is interesting and keeps me coming back. I would enjoy more hockey love but i understand you live in the States and that's your focus. My curiosity about the hobby as a whole is what draws me here and you are doing an awesome job. I appreciate the time you put into these videos. I know its a passion, I have it and I know your viewers do as well and that's what is great about card collecting.
Thanks for appreciating my content and seeing my passion for the sports card world 🙌 I wish I did more hockey for ya! Sorry about that one. There is just never enough hockey singles for sale where I live. I did grow up loving and collecting the 1990 first year of upper deck hockey…Jagr, and Bure. They were my favs 😃🏒
Submitted my first cards ever for grading and decided to go with SGC. Love the fact they seem very transparent and no up charges. The upcharge thing as a whole seems like a bad business practice and something just seems fishy about it.
Agreed. I’m so torn cuz turnaround time is very important but resale value is very important too 🤪 I sent in two orders with SGC last week, can’t wait for the results! Thanks for watching 👍
I sent an order to PSA for one card. Just one card. I am currently on week three of that one card being in the grading phase. That’s really unacceptable. However I can’t discount the value in the market placed on PSA over any other grader so I deal with it.
I like the 20% strategy. Going to do the same I think. SGC cards sell just fine for me at my card shows so it will be interesting to see how they do on eBay
That’s good to know they sell well for ya at card shows 👌 I hope SGC works out because I’ve been wanting to grade with two companies again. Good luck, and happy grading!
Vintage and lighter border cards just look so damn good in the tux. Recently purchased a 2016 optic purple tyreek hill sgc 10 for less than 1/2 what a psa 10 does it was just a hair over a psa 9 price. I do love PSA still but also love SGC
I have been waiting since first week of February to get my reslab back from PSA, when I got my slab from PSA it was cracked and now they are taking there sweet ass time, I'm done with PSA, I have been using SGC and I am loving them.
NIce to see variety in the order. I keep wanting to send in a SGC order but need to find cards that would not be so underwater off the bat. With no OCt PSA special maybe I'll give it a go. I think pricing at PSA prices and trying to hold as firm as you can is a good start for people who want to get SGC sale comps up. Also, people buying SGC and SGC fans need to be willing to pay the higher prices otherwise nothing will really change. I do hope we see a some sort of PSA pricing response but not sure they have to yet since they are still grading a million+ a month while SGC is 100-120K a month.
You made some great points 👌 Let me know if you start submitting to SGC…I’d like to see what you send in. And yeah, unfortunately I don’t think PSA will lower their prices anytime soon :( Last month data showed over 1.2 million cards graded…I think that was their highest ever. Thanks for watching and commenting always 🙌
I will definitely be keeping a look out on how your SGC sales go. I was thinking about this while watching the vid. I have been wanting to start grading cards for PC and resale. To start out with PSA you are going to need a min $500 to get the bulk price. $100 for the subscription and $400 to grade 20 cards. If you started out with SGC, you could grade 10 cards for like $150. A good way to start a bank roll provided they sell well. I haven’t tracked any SGC sales numbers but I sure do like their turn around time and price point.
I think going with SGC to get your grading feet wet is a great idea 👌 And once you get the hang of it, you can then look into PSA (you do get the most resale value with PSA) 👍 Or just stick with SGC if you’re happy. Thanks for watching!
Hi.....I have a couple of 1986 Fleer Michael Jordan 'R" that I pulled from packs...The bad thing about it, is that they have 'Bug/termite damage'.......One is worse that the other...They have track damage, which is how they ate the card, One card is 90%+, the other is 95%+ plus complete...Of the 2 cards both have 3 corners still there, with 5/6 corners red tips, 1 slightly white......My question to you will SGC, grade these as Authenick, as these cards are direct from packs, with a non human made defect, no marks, alterations, etc...just ate by bugs...Would appreciate your input. Have been in cards for 68+ yrs, never sent a card in for grading...Thanks
Still very cool and valuable cards…even with bug bites :) Doesn’t sound like they were altered so PSA or SGC should slab them authentic if you choose to send them in to either company👌 And I recommend you do get them authenticated 👍 Good luck and happy collecting!
Altough it may be true that SGC cards go fo less than PSA, but with vintage cards its a whole lot differant. I have a 1986Topps Football Jerry Rice Rookie SGC 8 and a 1986 Topps Football Jerry Rice Rookie PSA 8. The SGC is going for the same if not higher than the PSA 8.
I just did my first submission 5 baseball cards a mix of modern and some 8 stuff def love the slab and grades were def some were exspected other were a real surprise
SGC slabs definitely don't sell as well as PSA. I've had SGC cards for sale for years that haven't sold, then I crack them out, send them to PSA and they sell within a couple months.
PSA definitely sells for more, and sells better for sure 👍 But I want to give SGC a fair shake and try them out a little more in the next few months, see how their sales do in my store. Thanks for watching! Happy collecting 🙌
I'm a big fan of SGC for PC stuff because I feel they are the most accurate of any of the grading companies. To your point about using PSA because of the ROI I wonder if there is something to be said about being able to churn through 3-4x the amount of cards using SGC than waiting for PSA. Basically if you can get 3-4 orders back from SGC in the time it takes for one order to come back from PSA I am guessing there is a selling strategy you could use, especially with how volatile the market is.
I like your thinking....that is exactly where my mind initially went too. I think I have an SGC strategy in place, so get ready for more SGC reveals, and updates on how well they sell off my ebay store. I figure it's worth a try. Thanks for the thoughtful comments always!

Imo, even if he plays well this year, the Bucs wont make any real noise and the younger guys are taking up market share! I wish i had that card rhough, looks super clean and a good year for Prizm!
The Bucs have a really easy division, so I’m thinking his stuff will steadily climb until playoffs 👌 I also love 2018 prizm…the silvers were actually short printed that year 👍
Anytime I send an order to PSA I feel very uncomfortable, I feel like a few of my cards are going to come back damaged, they keep my cards for at least seven to eight weeks, you have to wait for special for it to be affordable, their customer service is extremely slow, they're grading is very inconsistent, then they want to up charge you for certain items, and you have to pay a membership to take advantage of any specials, when I send an order to SGC I feel happy knowing my cards are going to be taken care of and I will get them back very quick and their grading will be typically on par with my pre grading very consistent like.
I’m curious on your opinion on the looks and feel of the sgc slab opposed to psa slabs. As far as aesthetics and quality of the slabs what’s your thoughts
Good questions! I think aesthetically I like SGC better, and I actually like the way it feels in hand better👌 But as for quality…PSA is better. PSA seems sonically sealed nicer, thicker, tougher, and harder to crack open. I can crack SGC slabs one with just my hands 🤪 Hope that helps! Thanks for viewing!
By the time you get the grade you want on that Jeter, the grading fees will be more than the card is worth. I guess you could try GEM or one of the other low-rent graders next.
Totally. Yeah, that card was just a bust, a loss. I shouldn’t have cracked it out the first time. Sometimes mistakes are made. Most of the time I get it right though 👍
when I want to sell cards I send to PSA, if I want to grade for my PC I use SGC, but with SGC being sold to PSA I may not be grading my PC stuff if the slabs, price or turnaround time changes.
I sent in 39 cards to sgc. Fast turnaround. But....1 cards that a 8 looks like a 10. Thats going to psa. And a few others seem to be undergraded...majority were 9s.
Weird…from my experience they grade a lil easier than PSA. May I ask what years your cards were? Vintage, 1980’-1990’s, modern, ultra modern? Thanks for watching 🙌
Thanks for this. Interested to see if you kept sending them stuff. I’m mainly curious about items you thought should pull a 10, what likelihood or % did you actuall get that 10 vs 9.5 or 9s?
You know how you get sgc to same price as PSA? Stop selling for less. You just laid out all the reasons why its better. Things don't change until things are done different and we actually control that.
Return shipping was only $25 bucks, grading fees (12 cards x $15 bucks equals $180), and cost for me to ship them to SGC was $8 bucks. So a total of $213 bucks…not bad 🙌 Thanks for watching!
I cracked like 10 sgc slabs this weekend. I was ticked about my last sub but after cracken them and taken a closer look they was right I just gotta inspect better. I started getting to comfortable because inwas getting those 10s and 9.5s.
@littlevictoriessportscards197 they are gradeing much tighter 9.5ing people to death i asked many people and they said they same 9.5 after 9.5 glad I sent my biggest cards a few years back and gem 10d the mahomes rookies and the haliburton zebra rookie. Of course they gems the amthony richardsons and he's the worst q.b ive ever witnessed
I only submit and buy SGC cards. I have BGS and CGC cards in my PC but I’m done with PSA. With the amount of business PSA gets and the amount of money they have coming in they should be tops at everything; consistent grading, speed, prices and customer service and they aren’t. The only reason PSA demands a premium is all the fees, amount of BS you go through using them and the large amount of this community that uses them because they are so invested in them. PSA is garbage.
Usually I would defend PSA a little but my recent psa order has been stuck in Assembly stage for over a month ugh! 😡 I’m pretty sure I could have gone through 10 SGC orders in the amount of time it’s taken for this order. I have two fun SGC orders finishing, should have their reveals next week 👌 thanks for watching! 🙌
Unfortunately they seem really backed up right now :( But the lack of a good monthly special this month should speed things up. Thanks for always watching!
Dang :( sorry to hear that! They’re pretty backed up right now unfortunately. I’m thinking things will speed up soon cuz their October monthly specials were not good.
PSA is the best, no doubt. But I also don’t want there to be a complete monopoly…I think it’s healthy for the hobby to have other good grading companies 🤙
It really doesn't matter the price or what they do. PSA and Beckett have the brand recognition and trust. People don't like SGC as much and nothings going to change that(you yourself said this after I commented, I wasn't even trying to be negative, your card is amazing either way)
I don’t think SGC has less quality grading 👍 They have great quality. Their resale value is just less than PSA. But quality is on par with PSA 👌 Thanks for watching, really appreciate it!
@@littlevictoriessportscards197 no 8.5 i was lookin for at least a 9 the tiniest bit of white on 1 corner like you REALLY have to look for it with a magnifying glass to see it look like to 2 corners dont meet yea also cost me a good bit of $ at the time the card 8 was at $600L- $800H now it sits at $200L- $350H-8 $400-9
It's crazy how these companies differ. All in all, I know it's opinionated when it comes to grading. However, when there are huge gaps in the difference of grades, that's where I'm like what are these people looking at. Haha. Nice sub, though! 🫡👍
Yeah, I wish there wasn’t so much discrepancy between the companies 🤪 But I feel like I got the hang of how each would grade a particular card 👌 Thanks for always watching!
SGC is a nightmare, as well as a joke! Full of promises and don't deliver on what they promise. Sent in a lot of 22 1933 Goudey baseball. Cards were on their way back to me, when Purolator could not read the shipping label. After a couple of weeks they were sent back to SGC for relabeling. The horror story was just beginning. During this two week period of the cards being MIA, i received four different emails from Purolator that cards needed a signature and to be at home to sign. I live in Canada, the F'in cards never made it past the Carolinas and here i am waiting in to sign for something that is not even in my country. After the few weeks of waiting the cards arrived. The box was put in our porch and the driver took off. The box looked like an accordion that had been kicked around for months. no wonder the driver didn't stick around for a signature. Inside the outer box was SGC box, it had crumpled paper around three sides of it. It was the worst packing job ever. The SGC box that contained the cards was damaged on one corner. Three of the cards had shattered slabs. There were others with scuffs but i did not send those back in for fear of not seeing them again. I was promised priority shipping both ways for the damaged cards. I was told to let SGC know when the cards were being shipped back to them and the cards would be reholdered and sent back to me priority. I sent the email stating cards were on there way. It took two days and they confirmed receipt of the cards. Three weeks later i received the cards back. SO MUCH FOR THEIR PRIORITY RETURN. Before i sent the cards back they did give me $100 of the $500 i gave them for grading and shipping. When looking at the grades i received on these cards, i had to think they had Stevie Wonder doing the grading. Example: A almost pack fresh, 1933 Goudey Lewis Gabby Harnett with great corners, surface and edges, but off center, both top and bottom, receives a SGC 2.5 Someone got dropped on their head too much as a child i think. Even if the three grades are a 7 and the centering comes in at a 3, that is still 24 divided by 4, which ends up as a six. The only way i can figure it is the grader gives a minus grade of minus 8 for the centering or something stupid like that. All the cards were graded badly. You put away cards from your childhood only to have a company tell you they are not worth much. Maybe i don't know anything after collecting for sixty some years. One thing i do know is SGC will not be grading anymore of my cards. All in all, BAD SERVICE from both SGC and PUROLATOR. If you don't mind being totally screwed around the try SGC, that is one thing they do well.
That does sound like a nightmare 😬 I’m really sorry that happened to you :( It would be really interesting to see what PSA would grade that Gabby Harnett. SGC slabs are easy to crack out if in the future you decide to do that 👍 Sorry about that bad experience and I hope your future experience are way better in this hobby 🤞

Thanks! I’d say 15% I end up actually sending in to get graded 👍 I wish that were higher! But it’s good to be picky 👌
You know how you get sgc to same price as PSA? Stop selling for less. You just laid out all the reasons why its better. Things don't change until things are done different and we actually control that.
To me, everything kinda changed when they got bought out. I still love both companies, but SGC’s resale feels a little less of a concern now :(
So how much did it cost you total? Including shipping there and back? I’d love to get an idea of overall price
I always gotta inspect better too 🤪 But keep me posted if you feel like SGC is grading a lil tighter. Thanks for watching! LV
Psa is so inconsistent It took them over a month and half just to log my order in. I honestly thought they lost them
Unfortunately they seem really backed up right now :( But the lack of a good monthly special this month should speed things up. Thanks for always watching!
I wonder why they are backed up I still think 16 a card is a little to high seeing what the prices of cards are going for
My PC is SGC, so I’m not buying any other slabs.
That’s good to know! 🙌 Cards do look the best is in the framed SGC slab look 👌 Happy collecting!
How does SGC do with Spectra cards (which are a little thicker)? PSA seems to be pretty tough on them.
It’s been my experience that SGC grades thicker cards (like spectra) one grade higher than PSA 👍 Thanks for watching!
Another Oregon channel, what part? I'm in Springfield.
I’m around the Albany area right now 👌 I love Eugene, Springfield area!
My PSA orders arrived in July and it’s still in grading process 🤦🏻♂️
Dang :( sorry to hear that! They’re pretty backed up right now unfortunately. I’m thinking things will speed up soon cuz their October monthly specials were not good.
Jeter will get a bgs 6 now I bet 🤷🏼♂️crazy
You’re probably right 🤣
I was thinking the same thing, so I ended up just selling it in the SGC slab 👍
Just got my second ever submission back from SGC was very pleased with the results I just posted a video on my TH-cam channel with the reveal!!!
I want to watch your reveal! 👌 What’s your channel?

PSA is the standard. SGC will never be on its level. Seen many reveals and time after time SGC grades higher then they should.
PSA is the best, no doubt. But I also don’t want there to be a complete monopoly…I think it’s healthy for the hobby to have other good grading companies 🤙
It really doesn't matter the price or what they do. PSA and Beckett have the brand recognition and trust. People don't like SGC as much and nothings going to change that(you yourself said this after I commented, I wasn't even trying to be negative, your card is amazing either way)
I wish Beckett would do something constructive and innovative with their brand recognition 👌 Thanks for watching!
i love sgc slabs i’ll still buy psa but sgc prolly is a close second and i’ll only grade thru them psa isn’t as consistent
I love the look of SGC slabs too! That frame look is 🔥
Hello , was wondering if u are located close to grants pass
Hello fellow Oregonian 🙌 I’m more North near Salem 👍 Thanks for watching!
Ouch on Jeter
Yeah that card has been a nightmare 😵💫 I should have never cracked it out of the BGS slab. I’ll definitely own that mistake. Thanks for watching!
Hey what’s the tool people are using to crack cards it starts with a D
Sounds like people are using a…Dremel tool 👌 I might look into one too
@@littlevictoriessportscards197 thansk
Did they get rid of PayPal ?
Yep 👍 I remember when that was their only payment option too
I love psa
But I love sgc
I love them both too 🙌 thanks for watching!
So you are saying that SGC has less quality grading?
I don’t think SGC has less quality grading 👍 They have great quality. Their resale value is just less than PSA. But quality is on par with PSA 👌 Thanks for watching, really appreciate it!
howd it go
Doing well! Thanks for watching my content 🤙
65 days is still better than the year and a half it took to get my Luka Dončić rookie card back from PSA
Wow! That's awful, sorry to hear that. Did they at least give you a gem 10 on it? You earned it waiting that long
@@littlevictoriessportscards197 no 8.5 i was lookin for at least a 9 the tiniest bit of white on 1 corner like you REALLY have to look for it with a magnifying glass to see it look like to 2 corners dont meet yea also cost me a good bit of $ at the time the card 8 was at $600L- $800H now it sits at $200L- $350H-8 $400-9
Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
The problem is the SGC black tuxedo is really really ugly. Hence they are not desirable to collectors. The do look better with older vintage cards.
Also not sure why u r sending generic low value cards that you know are off can not possibly get a descent grade, certainly not a 10????
Sometimes I don’t send cards in just for profit and selling.…sometimes I just like the card 🙌
I may be weird but I actually like the Tux look 🤪
The Grading took less time than watching the video. Too much rambling. Also with keep breaking the slabs and resubmitting, you kill your ROI
Sgc cgc are the best grading companies
I’m still a fan of PSA, but I’m so glad I’m grading with SGC now! They’re great 👍 Thanks for watching
Always, my friend. Keep those grades coming. And I'm gonna petition for the disco thumb band-aid to come back! 🎉😂
@@therealmccoy7782 lol…I’ll def bring it back on my next cut 😂
SGC slabs are easy to crack out if in the future you decide to do that 👍
Sorry about that bad experience and I hope your future experience are way better in this hobby 🤞
