    I had a really bad beg bug issue in my room, I brought them from college, I didn't know till it came out of my bed and it was bad. I went into my closet and it came to my surprise they loved tote bag material, its the first thing they go to. I got rid of all tote bags from my home, I had cleaned out my closet rip out my carpets, sadly I got rid of my bed but I put de and in some ways, it has helped a lot. I took all the pictures down, posters, they hide in tape ect, I looked in corners of them and once I found some on top of wooden pictures so I just scrubbed my pictures under really hot water as steam hot. i use de all over my rugs and it has helped and on top of tubs to make sure they don't go into tubs. I use Vicks on my body I make sure to warp myself with a rather large blanket from head to toe-tie my hair pulled back and put a beanie on to cover my ears with it since i heard they can crawl in your ears. and also i wear gloves, i tuck in my pj inside my pants and tuck my pj pants inside my socks. I put all my things in tubs and always wash my clothes in the sink with hot- hot water with a good soap. I always look around my furniture and I see them around screws so i put de and brushed it lightly on each crack and on screws. . I heard heat doesn't work, but never tried it. its been like this for a couple of months since i discovered it. the beds shouldn't have box springs go to mattress sleep and get a good mattress that is on clearance with a metal bar frame, put de along the rail of the matress were you rest the bed but as someone said just take an artist makeup brush like and lightly dip it in de and dust it along your mattress and furniture. i noticed when i do this i don't have much of a problem as i once did. im not saying its a cure but its better than i was at. and to be honest somethings work and some things don't i think there is different kinds of bed bugs and there all different if this happens. but best of luck to all you who deal with this nightmare.

      They dont crawl in your ears. And heat 120 degrees for a half hour will work too. But rubbing alcohol is no failPlease start telling people that 91% RUBBING ALCOHOL KILLS BED BUGS and eggs!!!!. ABSOLUTELY 100%and rubbing coconut oil on your body thickly and hand sanitizer helps keep them from biting. And saucers filled with oils and the legs of chairs and tables keep them from climbing but that's an ugly prevention

    Isopropyl alcohol is very effective in my experience, when spraying live bugs directly. My last point of infestation was our couch. Haven't seen a bed bug since using isopropyl alcohol. We bought a new couch and completely disinfected the entire area surrounding the old couch. I applied Harris DE in every crack and crevice, vacuumed, and steam cleaned the entire floor.I also used Harris bed bug spray with egg kill on the carpet after the steam cleaning. Get a very bright light and a magnifying glass and be diligent until you are absolutely free of these monsters. Leave no stone unturned!

      Discovered bed bugs 12-02-2018. My wife's room was infested. We haven't seen a bed bug since the end of March. I made some mistakes at first and that was costly.
      Get DE ASAP! Apply DE in every crack and crevice surrounding infested area, after completely vacuuming with a good shop vacuum. Bag all sheets, clothes, and blankets, and carefully put them in a dryer at high heat. Do not return them to the infested area. Isolate all non infested item and keep them in a safe area. Use isopropyl alcohol in a spray bottle to kill all visible bugs.
      Saturate your box spring with the alcohol, after it dries spay with Harris bed bug spray with egg kill and seal in a bed bug proof mattress cover. Isolate the infested area and repeat process until they are exterminated.

      I'm partial to vinegar over alcohol because it takes longer to evaporate. Mixing it with salt and/or soap is even better since most bugs hate either, but salt tends to eventually clog most spray nozzles.

    I got some after some new neighbors moved in. I haven't found a lot, I washed everything in the apartment and ran everything in a dryer for about an hour. I told the landlord, I had exterminators come and treat my whole apartment. I've sealed everything in bags, I threw out old clothes and other things that I didn't have a need to keep, (I sealed them in wrote in big letters on the containers labeling them bedbugs, I'm getting some climb traps and some cimexa to put in the outlets and cracks in the walls. I reported them immediately when I found them. I have my mattress wrapped.

  • @Viktir123
    @Viktir123 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    Mattress and pillow covers are extremely important. Also don't let your bed sheets and blankets or pillow fall on the floor, keep them on the bed because bed bugs hiding in the carpet can easily hitch a ride then you bring them into the bed. They haven't found a way into my bed because of the type of bed frame I have, but, they learned that they can crawl up my internet wires and get onto my computer desk. My neighbors in this apartment all have them but I only see about one per week, my neighbors around me admit they see about 40 per week. I vaccuum every night before bed and dump the plastic vaccuum chamber into the toilet so I can see if any are floating in the toilet water. I see about one a week usually, mainly nymphs who are hard to see because they're kind of a beige color with a tiny black speck on their butt-side. I see the grown adult ones about once a month. I'm using a "proven" all-natural bed-bug spray but it seems to wear off fast and I have to use it literally every week and it's getting expensive. The "all natural, safe" bed bug sprays seem to not be worth the money in the long run from what I'm seeing. Many "safe, all natural" remedies seem to just barely help the situation, and will add up to a lot of money and require a lot of maintenance to help, I so far don't believe any of their claims due to first hand experience.

    You are absolutely right about there being many more infestations than reported. Many people get embarassed thinking people will think they are messy or dirty when bedbugs care nothing about the cleanliness of a dwelling.

    Perhaps because this video is 5 years old, but he says bedbugs are not good climbers and that is so not been true in my experience at all. They are excellent climbers & have learned to “claw walk”, like tiptoeing through desiccant dusts. One of the universities had a film on it I wish I’d kept.
    Metal bed frames and interceptors haven’t even slowed down the infestations I’ve dealt with. He’s a great speaker and does have some good info though.

Watch his other video, he talks about them and putting encasements on box springs. I'm still having problems with bed bugs and I tried a cover over the top but my queen mattress but is to heavy and hard to lift to slide a cover over it to zip it up I'm elderly. I can't use harsh chemical because I have two small Chihuahuas that sleep with me. I was thinking about down sizing next month to a affordable twin bed with a zip up cover. I have tried a bedbug spray and Diatomaceous earth and it didn't do a hole lot of good. If I was Rich I would leave everything behind but the clothes on my back. In another review I guy joked around about burning his house down and stating over and I have felt the same way he did. I know were I got my hair/body lice because not long after I used a blood pressure machine at the store I became eat up with body lice. For Goodness sakes if you pass a blood pressure machine at your local store DOES NOT USE IT FOR GOODNESS SAKES.
