I used to love Floyd. Had all their albums, even Atom Heart Mother. Piper was one of my favs… loved Echoes too… Worked at Catalina Island and me and my friend used to freak everyone out in the cabins playing it super loud.

i feel so sad for people that has stopped using their imagination as they grew older. Thank you Tony for all your hard work and effort, you have no idea just how much you elevate my lifestyle and experience. Thanks again

It’d be hard to grow up, and use imagination these days, what with all the insipid media, cell phones, video games, virtual reality, the web, etc. (plus probably far less reading, with all the audiobooks available), unless your Folks made you go and “play” outside. Which I and my fiancé have absolutely decided would be the rules of the road. Plus no cell phones, for as long as possible. Flip phones maybe.
      Thinking of switching myself.
      Cheers

I think it’s the young people who seem to have no imagination. They are so used to having everything supplied, they don’t need to picture anything in their minds. It’s terribly sad really, I used to love living in the worlds my imagination built, so complex and detailed, literally all I could dream of!

@@StalinLovsMsmZioglowfagz Yeah you’re right. I remember building forts and you had to know the password to get in. I don’t know who we thought was trying to get in, but it made it much more exciting.

@@jennifermcdonald5432 Great point. I made mine with my cousin, Marianne, I thought she was “pretty cool, for a girl”, haha. I have zero idea what the hell we were defending from with the massive (to us at least) constructions of wood and branches. Thats funny, I actually got a memory of it from just you saying “passwords”, and it was HUGE, in my memory. Reckon they don’t adjust for growth too well, how funny.

My eyes popped out on stalks (just like in an actual cartoon!) when I saw that one of your latest offerings was an absolute long-time favourite of mine. I first came across it in the early 70s when we 'did' it at school and it's kept me spellbound ever since. So a massive thank you. Hopefully you'll carry on doing these classic children's stories - I would vote for the Uncle stories, Joan Aiken's short sories, Narnia (of course!), E. Nesbit's children's stories, and Alan Garner! I'm getting over-excited now - I need to get a cup of tea and take a deep breath.

    • @sugarfalls1

Was this the whole story? I ask because it sounds as if you remember if there is more. I didn't have the opportunity to read this as a child or have it read to me. I'm in the states, so these weren't regular fare although I read a lot of the Just So Stories. Tony read this so well. I was spellbound! This is a link to the novel en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Midnight_Folk so it looks like it's longer than this recording, although I could be wrong. Thanks for your input!

@@sugarfalls1 No, this only takes us part of the way through Kay's adventure. But I'm keeping my fingers crossed it won't be too long before Tony downloads the rest of it. And then there's the second book A Box of Delights to look forward to it, which in my humble opinion is even better!

So much more to come from Nibs (my cat is called Nibbins) and rollicom bitem light foot and the Pouncer seven.
Perfect fit for the time of year and will delight anyone who hasn’t heard of it yet.
