If you're looking for more people angry about this and weird apologists, try the official Three Kingdoms: Total War forums. Grace (or some CA PR) even pretended to be a normal fan to try and switch us back to CA's good side. Downside is that there's probably only 1/100th of the people on there as on reddit so you'll see lots of the same names.
It's such a circle jerk community of people convincing themselves CA isn't scummy, and that the next game will be the cool one with the awesome legendary lords which will definitely make it a good game.

And people think the chans are cringe? They thrive on the depravity of reddit. They just cannot stop white knighting for corporations who shit on us every few years with badly implemented TW games.
I studied marketing and CA is not the CA we all remember, there is a cognitive dissonance between reality and appearance, we are made to remember names and faces. Trademarks are normally represented by a symbol so the customer doesnt get loyal to a developer. You may ask why, well to milk the trademark. Normally it goes like this, you take the biggest rat on the studio and you offer him money to gain control over it, then you kick the talented and ofc powerfull people so you can decide whats gonna been made on it.
Then you hire fresh 20 year olds out of their 3d course and push every marketing strategy so that you, in appearance, make the numbers go up and keep the bosses happy. This of course is held artificially since you are destroying the production capability of the bussines until a worthy oponent rises and finally takes them out.
And then you abandon the sinking ship and do the same to the competitor who took them out. Im telling you all this money grabbing asian type of monetization can be tracked down to the weakest link that is still on the studio

There was an article with an interview with the current game director. He was promoted from a marketing position, and he doesn't like TW at all. He was talking about how to explain to people why they should buy a "boring, generic" game.
ive since talked to long-time CA staff who have since left the company and got in touch with me. the sentiment seems to be that mike simpson and his assistants overrule a lot of the decisions there. people in creative lead positions have good ideas and push for them, and then mike simpson kills those ideas and steers the games in the direction SEGA wants. staff leave because of this, its such a big problem.

Ill never understand what drives a person to shill so hard for a company when they receive nothing in return.
People, mostly kids, are so obsessed with the game it becomes a core part of their identity, so any attack on the game is interpreted as an attack on their dignity.

the one that gets me is "fictional vs. historical". it's just shitty gameplay and design choices, not so much the setting.
people like me avoid warhammer for that reason but play the shit out of med2 third age mod .. the grandaddy of fiction.
shame the camera is so clunky in med2. I'd play the shit out of med2 third age mod with the 3K camera and controls.
I've been criticized for saying this early footage of WH3 looks like a copy paste of 2, with a few changes to battles like in-battle replenishment (trash) and survival battles. I wouldn't be surprised if Cathay is Day 1 DLC. The simps would gladly pay for it.
Keep a screenshot of that post. Whenever the WH3 fans complain about any of the inevitable bugs or gameplay issues caused by CA's greed and ineptitude, simply post the screenshot as a reply. When the mods start deleting the screenshot replies, just quote it verbatim. When the mods start deleting those posts, just rephrase it. Maybe add a childish meme, "Kislev" or something to rub it in their faces.

Facts bro. I recently got back into total war and I was surprised at how literally every post was about Warhammer and as someone who doesn't have any idea about Warhammer it felt like a huge circlejerk with so many cringe "inside jokes"
I backed out when the total war subreddit had a sperg attack over the waifu generals mod for 3K. It was such a toxic dumpster fire for people just trying to enjoy the game in a way they wanted.
Reading this thread legit gave me a brain aneurysm.
Man I can't wait for the game they're sucking off to be bad. They're willing to overlook all the corporate greed in the hopes that they can just get their one game. Hilarious and pathetic.

I don't know why people aren't talking about the Koei's Romance of the Three Kingdoms games as a clear business model for this material, especially considering for the main market they're after. This is 14 titles that cover the exact same time frame, events and character's as TW:3K. Now those go back for decades but all the same... they slightly remix the gameplay over and over and give people marginally better graphics with each iteration. I believe I once saw RoTK XII for $100 on release. I bring this up because I have every reason to believe I've just described the real "future of Total War: Three Kingdoms."
I really, really, REALLY love how CA abandoned Three Kingdoms just like they did thrones of brittania, and just like they will abandon Troy. The whole point of three kingdoms was to fix what thrones of britania did wrong, and how it got abandoned. And now, with it's abandoment, CA proves it just flat out lied, even when selling to the damn Chinese. I think I said the word "abandon" more than a divorce lawyer lol.

I find it interesting is CA Grace response on all this. She defended the game design choice and the hard work of the Dev team and now she flip and surprise that people are angry about the shut about the game. I know this is normal for PR , but still.... When you have the player defending the game more then the PR team that is saying something about your company. What does this say Grace. 1: She close to someone high up and doesn't want them to get fired for there poor decision making. 2: is good Grace is very good at her job and knows how to control/trick the total war community or 3: The higher up are just keeping her in the dark about business side of things just put in the frontlines as a shield for the company. Because a smart PR move would not to respond to the reddit post at all after the video.
Also the CN player are spilt on the shut down. One side that are happy about the next game and think the next game is going to add stuff the total war : Three kingdom didn't, They think Navel battle will be in the next game.......

Crusade mean that formula which Ca decided to go, theyll ended support for 3k and start developing another game from 3k romance so history with Rome and Attila repeat again.

I’ve said this so many times but the DLC for 3K was an absolute scam. Most of it should’ve been in the original game. What they did was make you pay for the prologue to the start of the 3K era and pay for a vital part of the the 3K era with the warlords DLC. The 8 Princes make sense because it’s after the 3K era but the rest are just cash grabs adding nothing to the game
I booted it up a while ago for the sake of making a video, and I was baffled to find a DLC that quite literally brings the campaign backward a few years with little meaningful change. We went from Fall of the Samurai, a standalone game set in a completely different era with its own balance and distinct UI and music, to this.
Chinese gamers refusing to buy dlc is pretty smart. Western gamers could learn from this.
Most dlc is trash.
Most new Games at least give you a new experience.
Devs need to actually produce something new for a new game, or its too obvious.
Alien Isolation is fucking incredible m8, you should get it when its cheap next.
Paradox does make some good games, but their monetization can get hectic.
But then I remember that they ain't a huge company like EA.
I still don't like the monetization, but I understand as to why.
But with Total War however,
In Warhammer 2 one has to pay for Ratling Gunners, and Warplock Jezzaails and a nuke boi when it looks like they should have been there from the start or an update.

I like warhammer tw but it’s completely gutted every other total war. Also CA working with GW is NOT a good thing lol at the redditors skimping for CA.

while i do dislike the modern total war games i have played and especially the community around them. i have played alien isolation and it is a very emmersive well made horror game.

Reddit is the bottom of the barrel leftists who all clamour together to defend paying for uncompleted and unpolished games talking about "budget constraints" etc. When we are paying full price and more for DLC's and FUCKING BLOOD SFX, we have every right to criticize and commeny on the pitfalls. As much as I want Medieval 3, I am honestly really worried about how its going to turn out, and all the simps that will defend it, if it ends up shit.
