But keep dipping into the Filipino water....the country is filled with perhaps the finest singers in the world today. It is stunning how much talent that country produces.
You have to relisten to the part where she displays her incredible breath control and doesn't take a breath for long time. Vocal coaches are always amazed by this. Her tone is so warm, like a blanket of love. That's what sets her apart as well from other vocalists.
Anyone better than her? Some can sing amazingly well, no doubt. But she just hits the spot for me, all the time, no matter the song.

She is from the Philippines. Her rivals: Katrina Velarde ("I surrender") or Gigi De Lana ("Through the fire / piano in the dark"). Though they are not really her rivals and you cannot really compare them - but they are probably as good as Morissette, with each having their own qualities that distinguish them from another.
Wow. THAT was unexpected. From sweet charmer in the beginning, to powerhouse finisher. What a voice! As for other really fine Filipina singers, have a listen to Gigi DeLana. Her style may be a bit different, but perhaps equally talented (as well as beautiful). Sigh... I imagine a duet between either of them and Ksenona...

I like to say that Mori is the queen, but there are many princesses. The Philippines is not called "The Land of Singers" for nothing. For additional wonderment, I would suggest Gigi de Lana, Katrine Velarda, and K.Z. Tandingan just to name a few. Let the shock and awe begin.

back in the day, when i was a Food and Beverage manager in Thailand, through my work i got to experience a lot of Filipino entertainers and musicians. solo acts, bands, family bands, and even bigger show bands. i was always amazed that one place could turn out that much talent.

Her voice's tonal quality is really very, very, very pleasant to ears and to the heart. Morissette did not expect "Akin Ka Na Lang" (Please Be Mine)to be where it is now. In the first place it did not win any award at the 2014 "Himig Handog: P-Pop Love Songs" songwriting competitionwritten. Francis Kiko Salazar composed it for her.
However, the song attracted interest because of the way Mori sang it, including the whistle.
In 2018, Morissette sang the song on ASAP together with Ogie Alcasid and fans from Malaysia, South Korea and the United Kingdom. In the same year, she sang the song on Wish 107.5, which helped the song to gain popularity with over 170 million views so far.

Better than Mori??? I would say SoHyang from South Korea, of course she is about 20 years Mori's senior. So take that for what's it worth. Now as amazing as Mori is, my favorite singer from the Philippines is actually Gigi de Lana. Katrina Velarde is fantastic as well. I call them the 3 Queens of the Philippines.
Mori is the best but there is an Australian singer who can rival her. Have as listen yo Vanessa Amarossi singing live at the 2000 olympics, Heroes alive forever. Best live performance I have ever heard.

Katrina Velarde is not a better singer, she is almost as good as Morissette, but she is grittier and herr songs have less polish but more passion than Morissette. Morisette is like Miss Perfect, and Katrina is like her edgier cousin.
