i would of told them that everything they eat besides kelp give op enchants. this way they think they can only eat kelp and you would get enchants way faster.
Minecraft manhunt where if the hunters eat I get fed. Basically where if the hunters eat anything you get the exact same amount of food and or saturation that they got basically putting you into a constant heal. You no longer have to worry about food because your hunters are doing it for you
I was playing as a merfolk using the Origins mod and dried kelp is extremely useful in a pinch! It's great to use alongside more substantial food, actually. You can fill up your hunger bar most of the way with kelp, and then finish up with fish for the saturation!

I mean similar idea but probably easy to code( know that I have never done coding ) but everything they eat only gets them 1/4th or 1/2 a hunger bar thing
