"Walking down the street watching ladies go by WATCHING YOU!" - That sounds like Steve Arrington (Watching you) did that MELODY first. All due respect, but David Ruffin Jr. pulled that melody from someone, so who actually gets the credit? He changed the words to the original melody. I'm not in the music industry, but an answer to that would be interesting.

Well Toni Basil doesn’t get any credit for the song “Mickey” or whoever wrote it. It’s listed run DMC and Rick Rubin, and they used the cadence from that for the chorus of it’s tricky….🤷🏾♂️
