My "techniques" were just put every skill building item all over each free corner lol
I used to merge the pre-built rooms together with no roof. 😅😅😅😅 also would put the giant telescope in the back yard
For some reason I always used the tall wall for everything I have no idea why. I also had no idea that there were half walls for like 7 years lmao

I recently saw one of my first build in current save (I always play in the same save) so it was probably 2 years ago and it was so freaking ugly, way worse than yours noob one here xD it was just one long big rectangle
with uneven windows, no decorations inside (beside fish tank which I always used back then)

This is such a fun video!! I used to try to do industrial loft style houses in sims 2 but I didnt know how so it was just a massive 2 story box with a teeny tiny second story balcony style bedroom lol! At the time I thought it was great but in hindsight? No sis - just no 😂

My houses used to be the weirdest shapes. 4 floors and a basement for no reason. Pools that were super close to the house too
