RIP Trevor. I'm absolutely gutted to we lost such a legend.
@Strength Monk me too. such a special guy in such a special band ☹️
I've cried several times now.
This hurts. My heart goes out to the family, band, friends and all of us fans.
Yeah, but you're cringe
RIP Trevor!!!! Never, ever forget the time I got to see you guys in concert. Absolute legend
I'm in absolute shock and sadness by the fact Trevor has passed away. We may have tragically lost him, but his personality, his impact on metal, his role in TBDM, and his spirit will forever be remembered. May he rest in peace (1981-2022)
He was born in 1981
I’m just… speechless
I got to speak with him on several occasions. Always a gentleman and a scholar. We love you Trevor.
What is TBDM?
@@rytkosenjussi The Black Dahlia Murder
Still rockin in 2020
Still my favorite TBDM song 👌
Still my favorite too , fuckin smacks
Same. Time to rock some etid
Yeap it still is
I can't wait till yall come back home to Michigan!
This was the first song I heard from them and it was love at first sight (listen?). I'm really sad about Trevor passing away. A great human being, an explendid musician. Rest in peace wherever you are, much love from your fans!
Same for me
He was such a genuine dude and always humble to the fans.when I met him we talked castlevania for a good 20 min.this sucks
Yeah… reading that post was fucking surreal man. Saw them many times live with my bros so many weed/liquor fueled memories all possible because of this LEGEND! R.I.P :’(
What a terrible night to have a curse, was mine. 🥺
Mine too, it was in Saints Row 2 and I was like 15 and never heard anything like it, truly amazing.
Just paying my respects. Crazy how someone I’ve never met has had such an influence in my life, there’s really no words.
😂😂😂😂 weird
No words? Than let Trevor sing them for you!! 🤟
Likewise 😢
RIP Trevor. One of the sickest vocalists to grace the metal world. Been head banging to you for over 10 years and will never stop. Rock in peace
Holy shit man. Your comment made me realize I've been listening to them for over 10 years as well. I doesn't feel like that long ago I first heard Necropolis and was hooked. Trevor was my inspiration for wanting to learn to scream. Maybe I should pick it up again.
I discovered these guys summer of 2003 funeral thirst kickedy as towers bleecker street NYC. And then shortly after the sword!
RIP Trevor…. Absolutely a gutting loss. Long live the legend
Rest in power Trevor. This was one of the first songs to get me into the genre. My condolences to his friends and family.
Their first album got me into the genre, but this song solidified me as an absolute fanatic. His poetry is still some of the most beautiful words I have ever had the pleasure of seeing/hearing.
What a horrible night to wear a shirt
underrated comment!
@@PandaCristos absolutely! Hope it's original
You re right that’s why i dont wear any
Great night to have beer tho
Trevor hated shirts.
Lmao
2021 AND STILL PURE GOLD
What about 2022?

Metalheads in real life : THIS VIDEO
Nicest people I have ever met in my life...😊
I took my 10 year old son to a Slipknot (his favorite metal band) concert years back and told he instantly understood how we are family.
Shannon Lucas is a MONSTER on the drums.
Ho-ly shit does that guy have some serious endurance.
still hits in 2024
Got into these guys the last 3-4 months just introduced to them, literally been obsessed with their discography, what a vocalist and all round good guy, speak up guys it’s ok not to be ok 🖤
i gave birth with this song playing in the background
Now that's what i call fuckin metal! \m/
Dylan Konik Be careful not to cut yourself on that edge.
+Maegan krystal Now that's fucking brutal.
Sex designed to procreate...fucking gross. - Nathan Explosion
Maegan krystal did Satan come to claim your child's soul? o.o
These guys don't take themselves as seriously as a lot of other bands out there, and that is why they're amazing
This band was the start of my unending love for extreme music. RIP to an absolute legend 😞
RIP, Trevor. Looks like a lot of us came here to pay respects. Thank you for all of the memories and amazing tracks just like this. Never again will we see or hear a vocalist with such raw energy, passion, and range. You will be forever missed.
There's enough metal in this song to rebuild the Twin Towers
hahahahhahahah!!! Rolf!
Then Obama destroys them again
LMFAO!!!!!!!!!
touche!!!
Awesome coment is awesome
funniest comment I've read in a while
You’ve been immortalized by your music and overall impact on the metal scene as a whole. Gone, but never forgotten. RIP TREVOR!
RIP you metal legend. Trevor wrote lyrics like no other, and kept me going a long time. journey well, metal brother.
If I had a penny for every pixel in this video, I'd have two dollars and forty cents. Hell yea metal blade!
It was 2007 before HD was supported.
+Anton Kalaj wait 5 years and pixel will be vintage :)
Obey Silence lol
Millennial alert ...
@@ObeySilence holograms would be way less practical than pixels, if that's what you're implying
He had so much energy and together they were perfect. So sad we lost Trevor so early. I am glad the band are continuing with Brian as the singer and they are sounding awesome.
Yes, I'm excited to see what comes, they still got tons of energy and great chemistry with the current lineup
Still. To this day. Anytime I feel like I’ve improved in drumming. I listen to this song to humble myself.
"Dude, the drum isn't that hard" -Basically nobody
he was one of the very first vocalists who got me into doing extreme vocals. His highs always stood out for me , he has such a distinct sound out of all the other deathcore/death metal vocalists and his delivery, the way he makes the music 'creepier' is just amazing.
His music would always give me some sort of unknown energy, he was the one who really made me push myself to become a better vocalist, motivated me to grow even though I knew I was horrible and isn't even close to his level - the energy I felt inside while screaming his songs was all I needed to move forward.
It's really sorrowful to lose such a man. Rest in piece, Trevor. And even thought you're gone, your soul you've put into your music will always be in our hearts and carry on forever.
The song that got me into death metal.
+shav12 Hell of an entry point. The bar was set high for you my friend. Mine was Deicide - Once Upon the Cross. :)
-GodJa- Gotta love deicide. About 7 years ago I first saw their video for homage to satan. Man I was only about 13 and it scared the shit out of me lol
shav12 Glen's vocals, that intense riffing, and the frantic drums...they're the complete death metal package. Legends. :)
Me listening to Once upon the Cross for the first time (was about 15): "O_O Holy shit!!! I need more of this......NOW!!!!!"
Six Feet Under came after that. :)
Good times.
+shav12 oh my god same. this song was on rock band 2 and i loved it ever since, that was like 7-8 years ago or something
Zanderr Hell yeah exactly how I found them too. I remember starting up expert drums getting ready for the song and failed within 30 seconds lol hooked ever since. Actually just saw them live on Friday. One of the sickest shows I have ever seen and I owe it all to Rock band.
Been crying all day. This track introduced me to the most influential music in my lifetime. RIP I love you brotha
I just found out about Trevor today and I’ve just felt bummed ever since. Back in high school I just started getting into heavier music and an old friend exposed me to Nocturnal. It blew my mind how catchy and melodic that music could be. Everything about it just hooked it’s claws into me and I couldn’t get enough. Shannon became one of my favorite drummers, the guitar work was extremely memorable (to the point I could/can hum entire songs, even the solos. Lol) then there was the vocals. Trevor’s vocals were so unique to me and still to this day most vocalists pale in comparison to him according to my ears. From those deep growls to high pitch screams, the speed and how well he would enunciate his lyrics. I even love how he’d occasionally roll his “R’s”. Besides his screaming I was always amazed by how well put his lyrics were. So descriptive and catchy, he could paint a picture just using words. My friend that exposed me to BDM eventually got tired of me playing them every time we’d go somewhere haha! We even listened to their entire discography in chronological order on a road trip once. Lol Everything was BDM all the time. If I wasn’t listening to them I was thinking about them or looking at the latest interview with them. Eventually I got to see them play and come to find out it was one of Shannon’s last shows before he left. So I got to meet Shannon and Trevor, both were super nice to super nervous young me. Fast forward to Everblack, they were shooting the Goat of Departure music video and was there head banging with the Ape. Talked to Trevor after the show for a sec and took a picture with him. Then he proceeded to do the same thing with nearly everyone there. The man loved his fans. Well, I guess that’s enough venting for me. Time to listen to Nocturnal for the billionth time!
Yeah man.. I usually don't care about celebrity deaths but this actually hit me super fucking hard.
TBDM is nothing less than lyrically magnificent.
Cody I agree. There is no filler. The prose of it is the best though.
Very true my man....gotta try death grips! They're insanely lyrical
It's funny that people hate on em so much
@@aaronvoegele3482 they do???
Oh yeah people say they're overrated. But I put them above most melo death bands.
This song is timeless. I revisit this song all the time. It will forever be on my list of all time best metal songs ever made
RIP Trevor 😢. What a cool and talented man he was. Thanks for the music.
Legends never die. They Rest In Power forever.
This song started it all for me with your music. You made such fun and brutal music. A true PhD in Metal. This man stayed digging in the crates till the end. RIP Trevor!!!
🤘
This song might contain the most iconic and recognizable metal guitar solos of all time.
It's a perfect guitar solo.
@@theblackestvoid with blast beat in the backgrounds, will destroy brand new metalcore breakdown
Hearing this on Headbanger's Ball in 2007 was my first foray into melodic death metal. TBDM's composing abilities and Trevor's vocals even more so were forever seared into my brain that day. RIP to an absolute legend. You will NEVER be forgotten.
Brian Eschbach is a true musical genius.
ryanexsus Aye men Brother
Dude. The church I (used 😆) to go to. The priest's last name was Eschbach
Agreed
100%
I couldn't agree more ... He has a huge sense of dark catchy melodies.
Fuck I just came here to listen to a favorite song, from my all time favorite band. I didn't know he was gone honestly. I've never felt the urge to cry over someone I never knew but his songs got me through dark times, knowing I wasn't alone when I felt suicidal and stuff. His vocals and lyrics always made me smile, and honestly it's just extremely unfortunate that he passed away.
Stay strong man, I guess I know how you feel....
Trevor was one of my idols, singing for one of my favourite bands. His vocals, lyrics, his smile and his goofy demeanor. What a fucking legend. I will forever regret never seizing the chance to watch him and the band shred live, and I will forever miss him. It makes me profoundly sad he has left us too soon. May he rest in piece. I will treasure their songs until I myself leave this earth.
Dude was always smiling, always being goofy and making jokes. The peopel like that are the ones that are often suffering the most. Robin Williams being another.
I feel like the singer really hates shirts :D
Be wears it until he soaks the bastard.
I think he's allergic to fabric
Who doesnt?
But he loves shOrts ;-)
I still am in disbelief that Trevor is gone. This man was so badass! He will always be a legend. Going to miss you my man! 🤘🏽
One of their best songs.
After this song I never wore a shirt again
To this day the shirt still has never been worn.
Good god he used to be tubby
My favorite music video moment ever is when Trevor is singing this atop some stacked pallets while the rest of the band looks on seemingly confused. Cracks me up every time. RIP my man!
I’m so glad metal blade rolled with the punches with this bands “aesthetic” really put a cool new light on death metal
"Into the tower never go the horrors multiply
gears can mince the strongest ones leaving heroes paralyzed" Is obviously about the Medusa Heads lol. Great song love these guys. Got to hear them play this live Sept 2008 NOLA
BRO *FUCK* THE MEDUSA HEADS. AND THOSE ANNOYING FUCKING HUNCHBACKS. I honestly have no idea how i got through in the first game with my sanity. (Not all of it)
2024 and still hands down my favourite metal song
This video locked me in to this band. Great music by dudes that don’t take themselves too seriously. RIP to Trevor. My condolences to his family, band, and friends
I'll never forget discovering this band through a Rock band dlc pack. Thank you so much Trevor. This was one of my first songs to learn to scream and I'll never do it justice like you did. RIP man you more than earned it.
I wouldn't even be into heavy music without this legendary band. Rip Trevor you are surely missed.
*2016 and this song still kicking ass!!!*
oh, this song will always be a beast
This was the song that got me Into death metal. I still remember the feeling I got listening to Nocturnal the first time. RIP Trevor, I’m gutted by your passing
love the fact everything trevor has written is just so brilliant ❤❤
RIP to a legend. One of the first bands that got me into metal.
I'm devastated... Rest in peace, Trevor...
When this song came out I was 2 months old so I’ve been listening to this pretty much since I was born RIP Trevor
Thanks for everything, guys. RIP Trevor. It's crazy how much this song takes me back to that sweet-spot in life where you're old enough to go out and party/hit shows, but still young enough to avoid some of the more major "adult-life" responsibilities that hit a little later on. Stoked that TBDM was and still is a part of this mess I call a life.
This twisted wretched place shadowed by the utmost darks of hell
In dreams of black beyond the bound of a withered witch's spell
Where the doors surely are locked when the sun threatens to wane
Where shamblers dwell in dim moon light beyond the warmth of day
Liars line the roads at dawn
Watchful eyes are upon you held
Sacred weapons to the sacred revealed
To be unleashed upon this council of hell
Blood flows down the streets at night where wolves cry out for flesh
Where a horrible curse taints the woodlands nearby
With the forms of the walking dead
Unholy inversion of hope twisting the faith of the meek into hate
Driven insane by the dark one
To bring fourth the foul biddings he speaks
The undead are among us at dawn they shrink back to their silken beds
They dance by night and drink the blood of a child's broken neck
His spires are growing taller still
Their shadows spreading throughout the land
Freeing the evils that sleep within the weaker minds of man
Into the tower never go, the horrors multiply
The gears can mince the strongest ones, leaving heroes paralyzed
The rivers flow with poison
The sands swallow you whole
The ghouls that roam this darkened wood are thirsting for your throat
Unholy inversion of hope twisting the faith of the meek into hate
Driven insane by the dark one
To bring forth the foul biddings he speaks
The undead are among us at dawn they shrink back to their silken beds
They dance by night and drink the blood of a child's broken neck
His spires are growing taller still
Their shadows spreading throughout the land
Freeing the evils that sleep within the weaker minds of man
I cried for Trevor. I grew up on this music. Been listening to him half my life.
There is no band I've seen live more times than TBDM. Thanks for all the great shows, Trevor. REST IN POWER 🤘🏽
Same here I saw them 8 times, and I must say..... They absolutely KILLED it every time. A legendary performer he was!
A little late but me to, their live shows are so fucking good. Was introduced when they were on tour promoting Unhallowed, believe they were playing with Between the Buried and Me, but I could be wrong. Went to so many shows back then lol. Bought the album that night and never looked back! They have a show coming up in October here, think I'll go. I haven't seen them since Trevor passed though, don't think it will be the same without him.
RIP Trevor. Best Death Metal singer of all time in my opinion. Thank you Brother!
An absolute classic, where it all started for me with these legends.
R.I.P. Trevor. Forever remembered.
By far THE greatest era of TBDM. Nocturnal and Miasma will go down in the metal archives as being some of the best technical melodic death metal ever written and performed. Rest in Power Trevor.
I agree but I would also add nightbringers to the list
RIP you legend. I will miss you even though we never met. Your band has carried many of us through dark times. Our thoughts are with you.
R.I.P Trevor you absolute GEM of a human being, you where my favourite death metal vocalist and I can't thank you(and TBDM ofcourse)enough for the work you did!
This is my favorite era of black dahlia. Good dynamic. Yet all realize the importance of a good time.
Trevor was one of the best DM vocalists... and just one of the best dudes in general, it seems from interviews and gigs. 41's still too young to go. RIP, man.
Hands down my favorite band. Still blasting yall 2023.
Descansa en paz, Trevor. Nos dejas tus gritos desgarradores y tus letras salvajes. Nunca olvidaré el concierto que disteis en Madrid junto a Virvum. Fuiste un grande del metal.
Saw these guys in Bloomington, and this song made the crowd go effing bonkers. Can't wait til they come to town again.
Same here in Dallas. I have seen them 4 times so far, and the crowd goes effing bonkers on cue. Even at Mayhem Fest 09. They played the Hot Topic stage in a damn parking lot. When I made it to the venue the temperature was already 104F. They played nearly two hours after I arrived, so it could have been several degrees hotter by then. Brutal show.
Thanks Trevor for getting me into death metal with this song many years ago rip brother
This was the first song I ever heard by them. Love at first listen. And one of my favourite pics of me to this day is with Trevor himself. Rest In Power.
RIP Trevor. Hearing this song for the first time blew my mind. I didn’t know music could sound so hard and evil. I loved it.
R.I.P Trevor.... I never thought I would see this happen being a fan for 15 years.. love you man..
Am I the only one who thinks that this was really good production for its time? When I first heard it, I thought it was made recently. I was very surprised when I learned it was 2006
2006 isn't that long ago...
for real, way ahead of schedule with that shit haha
You kidding? It's bloody 10 years ago (I feel old now)

Ren Hoek oops, my bad
Rest In Power, Trevor. You will be missed.
RIP Trevor.. i will forever love you and this band! I grew up with yall and it will forever be my favorite band. This hurts...
It's weird to think that I found this video nearly 8 years ago and it is literally what got me into the extreme side of metal. This was my gateway!
love this song.... fan since i was a 16 year old.. just hit 30. still rock this shit the fuck out.
Makes me tear up every time I hear this song. What a brutally beautiful all-time metal song. RIP Trevor
Castlevania II:Simon Quest anyone?
What a horrible night to have a curse

more than a reference, the whole song is about it (^_^)

Sam Healand Into the tower, Never Go! The horrors multiply!
whenever someone asks me what Melodic Death Metal is, I'll just show em this song
and yet it is so different from CoB who are also mdm...
CoB is most likely the weakest form of melodic death metal there is.
Don't get me wrong, they have been my favorite band when I was younger, but they are a very weak melodic ''death'' metal band. Their sound is just way too soft compared to Dark Tranquility, Be'lakor, Ceremonial Oath, In Flames, Hypocrisy, At the Gates, etc... TBDM is much heavier than CoB, more death metal than they are tbh.
***** Ofc. I agree with everything you said :)
@@Metalurgy995 lmfaoooooo those bands are also weak Melodic Death
14 years later and this video and song is still my favorite 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼 BDM!!!!!
This song is legendary
i remember hearing this band for the first time years ago and thinking holy shit this sound is so earth shattering, them vocals are so harsh and raw. unique and so well executed. Awful news about the singers passing, nobody should feel alone and we need to talk to each other more about mental health. the stigma is still real.
This song used to get me through work days. I truly love this band. Rest in piece metal brother 🙏
Rip trevor, best tbdm song
This week could hardly get any worse. Trevor will be greatly missed, absolute legendary lyricist and singer
RIP Trevor. You and your band's music helped me get through so much.
Seeing these dudes next year so stoked!
they are so amazing live
Revisiting this comment I made ten years ago and I cannot believe it was the first and last time I would see Trevor live
R.I.P. to the king
Hope he's living large now wherever he is
