Even though things may be bad now, I have faith in the Lord that things will get better. We just have to stop fighting and hurting each other, and the entire world will be a lot better off. Humanity is still worth saving, and this song is the very thing that helped me realize that.

A truly great song that needs to be played very loud.. Gilmours unleashes his powerful guitar and it literally rips through your body and along with the lyrics leaves you weak and tearful. I find I want to listen to this quite often.

This is beautiful and so very true. By turning away and ignoring the plight of others we only prove that we have no ability to love and care. The human factor or what we are here to do. Feel empathy, love one another, remember that each and everyone of us matters in the eyes of God.
We must help those in need and not hate others for who they are. Although, I don't agree that everyone matters in the eyes of your God. He says slavery is ok and killed first born sons in Egypt because he disagreed with the ruler. I don't think those slaves or children mattered to him.

I did not get a massage, but this song is about how we turn our heads when we see poverty and disenfranchisement. He is saying we must not just look, but let us all help. If everyone helped just one person this would be a much better world. Nothing to do with the virus, you might need some fresh air though. I think I will schedule a deep muscle massage today.

very very nice video interpretation that captures this very touching & bittersweet power ballad of sorts. An anthem to help other less fortunate and the oppressed. Interesting that the first part vocalizes the pain and suffering that goes unattended and the second part gives us some hope that all will not turn away and instead turn toward those downtrodden with real compassion and help. The whisper of hope to call on our humanity.

I was never a huge Pink Floyd fan, and the first time I consciously remember hearing this song was 2 days after 9/11. The lyrics perfectly expressed the way I was feeling and I cried.i cried out of anger, out of fear, and out of sadness for the lives lost, and for the loss of an age of relative innocence. We had our butt collectively kicked in one day. ONE DAY. Completely out of nowhere, showing this great nation how relatively easy it is to knock us to our knees. I watched in horror as the first plane hit the tower, in shock as the second one hit. This wasn't happening. Not HERE. Haha- funny joke. Are the news stations so bored that they start making shit up?
Then came the stories of the Pentagon, and the plane, filled with heroes, that flew it's last into a Pennsylvania field.
After the initial shock wore off, my thoughts turned to, "What now? What happens next?" I couldn't even to begin to conceive of the enormity of the rescue and cleanup in the places where the tragedies happened.
But more importantly, "WHAT NOW? Who did this? Why? Will it happen again soon?"
I wanted answers. Now. And in my fury, I wanted heads to roll. Show them, whoever they were, they couldn't do this to America, and not go unpunished. And to let other hostile countries, not to even DARE to consider it. Not America. Not us.
My husband and I were discussing it (who wasnt?) and I commented that these countries and radical groups think they can walk all over us with no fear of retribution, and I'm sick of it.
To which he replied, "Im tired of just turning my back and pretending it's not happening. No more turning away!"
It wasn't ten minutes before this song came on the radio.
I know this is a lengthy explanation for my love of the song, and I apologize.
I have a tendency to ramble.
I'm 68 years old, and my husband has since passed away. It's just my little dog and I, and he's heard all my stories. So I have to find new audiences. He especially likes his adoption story.
But that's for another time and place. I won't bore you further.

This was downloaded on what would have been my dear mum's birthday. Sadly my mum passed away suddenly 2 weeks before. My mum was Pink Floyd fan. So thanks for downloading on my dear late mum's birthday. I know it is a coincidence.

My life has changed for the best and l know with all my heart and what l have been through with my son in jail and nevered gave up on my son. And I'vebeen through a lot myself. My son, had friends that study the bible with him in jail.,which l was thankful for, Amen. I write letters to his friends in jail to change their life's and make a better choice in life. With what l have been through from losing my life, l feel this is what the good Lord Jesus Chirst wanted me to do. Reach out too other ones, Amen.

Last year I was coming home from work around 4 am. It was January and there are always homeless people hanging around the off ramps to the highway. It was around 10f and there was a guy standing there as I was waiting for the light to change. Something made me roll down my window and talk to him. He uncovered his dog who was wrapped up in a blanket and his dog looked up at me. I happened to have a 100 dollar bill in my wallet and gave it to him under the condition that he got his dog and himself into some cover. I never saw them again
