    I am a Former Security Policeman, back when the career field was divided into Law Enforcement and Security ...I was a Security Specialist 6 years Active/9 years Air National Guard. I was stationed at Dyess AFB for 3 years in the Strategic Air Command..we had a squadron of B52D's..4 Nuclear uploaded on alert at all times. As an A1C I was a Sentry on uploaded B-52's or on a Boundary. I was a ART/SRT member and also a Fire Team member in a Armored Vehicle (we had 6 Fire Teams on Alert at all times).When I made Senior Airman (Below the zone). We also had 3 squadron's of C-130's. I did Fly Away Security. We trained 4 times a year in Air Base Ground Defense at Ft. Hood Army Base against the US Army 7th Calvary Scouts. I was on one of the first EST's..Emergency Service Team's (SWAT) in the Air Force. I got to attend the FBI SWAT School and we got to put on EST training demonstrations along with the Combat Control Team across the street from Security Control. (We loaded on 2 C 130's with a Combat Control Team climbed to 20,000 ft., the CCT did a halo jump. After deploying the CCT the 130's spiraled down and did an Assault landing on a dirt strip. We deployed in our Armored vehicles out the back of the C130's and took the objective, reloaded with the nuclear weapon we recovered from the “Terrorists” and did a Assault takeoff)!! I was stationed for 1 year in Turkey at a Secret MUNSS site. As a SGT...I was the NCOIC of Arms and Equipment for the Security detachment and also the Team Leader for the RRT ( Recapture and Recovery Team) a joint Turkish - American Anti-terrorist Team. When I rotated back to the World, I was assigned for 2 years at Langley AFB, VA to Headquarters Tactical Air Command. The unit I was in is the Tactical Air Command Guard...we were the Security for the CINCTAC (Commander and Chief Tactical Air Command..4 Star General). and I was a Flight Chief (SSGT) for Bravo Flight. During my time in the Alabama Air National Guard I got to go to "Sliver Flag Alpha" in Indian Springs, NV, the USAF SP Desert Warfare and Survival School. I did a lot of different things in the Security Police Field....AND LOVED EVERY MINUTE... except for the time I spent in a Turkish Military Prison..but that is another story! Some times I wish I had stayed in the Air Force........but I had a good career (25 years) as a State Trooper SWAT Sniper. If I had stayed in I would have would have been a Raven for sure.

    So TRF is part of DAGRE? I’m so freaking lost! This is actually a career change decision for me. I’ve been training religiously the past 8 months originally wanting to go 18X but I’ve been told the Air Force deal with way less BS than big army but I don’t FLOAT! So I’ll never be a PJ or CCT. So my best bet with the AF is security forces/TRF.

    • @funnymankeene
      @funnymankeene หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      So TRF is the tactical response force thats used for the security operations at Malmstrom, Minot, and FE Warren AFB. TRF isn't a specific class/school house that you go to and then now thats what you do. How it works is you arrive at the any of those duty stations, wait for them to hold try outs and then if you pass thats really it. Sure theres some schools you can go to that are ok and you learn a little more tactic stuff but its not anything what people hype it up to be but once you leave those duty stations, it doesn't follow you except saying that you got to do it (but im not taking away from what they do because its an important job). DAGRE is a school you go to which is designed to support Special Operations, but that's just it. Its a support element. You wont find Security Forces members who are DAGRE certified going out and performing Special Operations missions (I just mean acting as operators). The DAGRE certified members I have encounter basically fly out with an air craft and provide security for that air craft while the operators perform their mission. But again, like TRF, if the unit youre at doesn't have a DAGRE mission set, then you sort of just wear the tab to show that you've been through it. At the end of the day, it's good training and a cool experience but if youre looking into Special Warfare type jobs, neither Security Forces who wear a DAGRE tab, Raven tab, Air Commando tab, etc are special operations operators. Huge misconception, don't let anyone try and trick you. Source of my information is 14 years AD (still in) as a Security Forces Defender.

    • @funnymankeene
      @funnymankeene หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Please don't let my post deter you. Security Forces does have many amazing opportunities and schools to go to and TRF, DAGRE, RAVEN, etc all teach viable training.

    • @OnesReady
      @OnesReady  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      For what? DAGRE? I don’t believe there is a DAGRE air guard contingent, but we can ask. The pipeline for active would be- switch services, go SECFO, establish yourself on team, apply for selection, get selected, hit training you need from there. It’s a short time gig- you’ll go back to REG AF after your DAGRE time is done. - A

    • @funnymankeene
      @funnymankeene หลายเดือนก่อน

      Theres typically no specific rank requirement for any school except Professional Military Education (PME for short) what you'll need those is to have gone through basic training, tech school/training, and then your unit has to be able to offer/support sending you. Theres many variables to how a person would get to the schools.

    • @flurbie133
      @flurbie133 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      i think they do pretty much the same thing, only difference is who they work with. as far as i know dagre focuses more on doing special operations support and ravens do more support for air mobility rather than spec ops. not 100% sure but thats what ive read.

    • @Frisco_Schills
      @Frisco_Schills 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      From the video, it sounds like Dagres secure AF assets C-130 size or smaller during flight and on the ground working solo, duos, or trios.
      Ravens are securing C-17 size craft in fire team size elements.
      Again, this is just based on the video.

    • @jacobking7800
      @jacobking7800 2 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      Aside from who they work with, what really separates DAGRE is that their mission is physical security of SOCOM assets in just about all areas. Meaning not just aircraft and aircrew, but SOF operators and medical elements. An example being working with STS for global access where the USAF doesn’t have to ask the Army for help or send in extra controllers to post security, but has dedicated teams from a career field that literally focuses on that task.
