You're blessed, to only get hit once, while Bush hogging, my first encounter with yellow jackets I was stung 79 times, years later while Bush hogging again they got me 53 times, yellow jackets kill more ppl in the US than any other insects

Gasoline also kills them. Application is the tricky part.

A bic and can of carb cleaner is far cheaper then those bullets but all have a way to put it out if you need or want to. After all the angry prepper will agree fire can and will get out of control and destroy anything it wants. I like to clear a spot start a small smoky fire and let it drive them a way

Yesterday I did some stealth overnight in medium windy conditions, I was thinking about you and that fallen tree, so I found a spot without high trees. Everything went smooth. Stay strong C.F.P.!

Got hit five times at once mowing last summer. One by my eye. I'm not normally allergic, but they hurt like a mother.... I couldn't hardly close my hand to make a fist for 4 days. Guess I'm getting older.
I got my revenge though...waited till they went to roost at night and filled the hole with diesel and gas mixed and set them on fire.

I got trashed up by about 30 to 50 yellow jackets about 2 weeks ago cleaning out my back yard from an underground nest.. man they tore my ass up.. had to take a double dose of Benadryl and chill.. I think thankfully I was bit the week before so I think my body built up a bit more resistant.. hope you're doing well brother

    • @youbetterwakeup2449

Damn man, that's crazy! Glad you're okay. The ones around here are about as aggressive as honey bees(not at all). We get 100's of them flying around the shop in the fall, and we've been stung only a few times in 30 years. Usually it's the red wasps and the tarantula hawks we have to look out for.

@@youbetterwakeup2449 worst part was is I ran it over with my lawn mower so I didn't even know it for like 30 seconds until I was covered with bees and they were fucking me up. By then they'd already released a pheromones because I ran like more than a hundred yards away and they were still attacking me I had to rip my clothes off and running the house

@@SurvivalLiving I carry a tourniquet as well, but honestly, I've got to learn how to use it rather than just reading the instructions. I have an old style one that I bought from a military surplus store. Learning and practicing is a journey, never ending.

OH NO!!!!!! I was introduced to yellow jackets in the Florida Panhandle. Didn't know they existed until I was weeding flowers and a giant yellow cloud came up out of the GROUND!!!!!.... what the???? I feel your pain

Reason I always carry antihistamines and when available an EpiPen, more than a couple stings and I could be in trouble through wasps/yellow jackets

Another tip is pay attention to the self pruning trees like the Loblolly pines of the South.

Oh gosh. Reminded me when I stepped barefoot on a wasp which stung me on my little toe! Omg that hurt. Chewed up some Copenhagen and spit on it lol. Stinger came out I guess. But mistake by putting on my boots always wore western boots and when I went to take them off the left one was hard to get off my foot that was stung swelled a whole lot! Lesson learned! Lol

  • @saraimata06

Glad it was only one sting. Those bees are ruthless. I'm allergic to bees but not deadly allergic and need to get a sting kit. Drone footage was pretty cool. I have the Exo X7 Ranger Plus. Already smacked it into the house and onto concrete. I never knew what a widow maker was. Glad I know now.

that looks like fun! the few times i been stung by my honey bees; it feels like there's a softball under my forearm (or eyebrows ha). Bet your device helps with that. we grew up with 'after bite' for mosquitoes. I think it's basically ammonia.

  • @TXMamaM.O.
    @TXMamaM.O. 2 ปีที่แล้ว

Wet tobacco put on a sting will draw out the poison too. Works pretty quick too!

One of those extractors would be great for around here to extract snake venom, since we have copperheads and rattlesnakes. Massasauga's are the worst, as they're small, blend in with the dirt/clay and are highly aggressive, like your little yellow jacket buddies. Kinda surprised me, as the yellow jackets around here(paper wasps) are about as docile as a honey bee. Different breeds I suppose. Stay safe out there!
