I have a Hohner 280C, which has a note that doesn't ring out immediately when i draw air. It starts ringing out after a few seconds if I continuously draw air. What could be the cause? A slight misalignment of the reed, or some debris stuck in the reed perhaps?
I've just bought an old 57/120 large Hohner Echo Harp, I want to completely strip it down to clean inside, how should I go about this?, especially as the top and bottom covers are fixed in place by pins, thanks in advance.
How do you clean a 16 hole Echo M.Hohner that is nailed together on the sides? The one my grandfather gave me as a kid is rusty, needless to say I didn't take care of it then, and I would like to restore it.
The 10-hole diatonic type favored by most blues and rock musicians. Yes, I would love to know how to safely disinfect a vintage Marine Band or Special 20 harmonica.
If the wood isn’t sealed, you can’t sanitize a vintage harp. If the harp has an ABS or sealed comb, just take it apart, remove any build up, and dunk it in isopropyl.
My grandmother has a Hohner Super Chromonica that she got when she was 15 as a birthday present. It no longer plays because it is so dirty... is there a service/restoration center close to Chicago area or where else could I get this restored? It's one of her most prized possesions and i'm nervous to ship it somewhere far away and it get lost.
Can you please do a much needed video on Melodica cleaning/maintenance? I understand why you used brand new harmonica for the demo (visual aesthetics), but an instrument in need of cleaning would have been more realistic-they can get very gunky, Brush your teeth or rinse before playing-•
Hi, how often should I be cleaning the harmonica using the following technique? What are the suggested "routine-like" cleaning process that would be helpful for maintaingin the harmonica clean?
I thought this would be a great help to me... until I discovered that the reed plates in the 60 year old Super Chromonica I have are nailed/riveted on, not screwed. I guess there's only so much I can do to clean this one. A nice heirloom, though (and still a good video).
Those are small nails. My old Chromonica has them also. Just carefully pry the reedplate away from the wood comb with a flathead screw driver....CAREFULLY.
I was wondering how tight should I screw the two holes that hold the plates of my harmonica together? Should I tighten the screws all the way until they can't turn anymore? Or if I should leave them a bit loose? Please help
Is it applicable for all types of harmonica? If a unexperienced person wants to clean, it is preferred to make it clean by himself only or by a music instrument expert? Please comment!
You can use this on all harmonicas, really. If you're a novice to cleaning harmonicas, have a pro help (or watch any number of videos about here on youtube.)
I have a Suzuki Manji Harmonica and I would like to have a kind of disinfecting cleaner, but I had read that some of them can damage the wood... which fluid cleaner do you recommend to use for my Harmonica Thanks...
Giordano Fronte Hey. The Suzuki Manji has a composite comb made of wood resin and plastic. You can simply use water and soap or 91% ethynol alcohol for cleaning. The alcohol might take off the painted key marker and Suzuki label, though so be careful if that matters to you.
If you are a heart surgeon, don't think you can operate on harmonica. Please don't ever decide to operate on harmonica because you will kill him. And you have to buy a new harmonica.😢
while cleaing my Hohner super chromatic 64, one of the valve is bent, now the sound at that hole is hoarse. can you help me to fix it, a video will be helpfull. From Dhaka, Bangladesh. imgur.com/a/Z9I7N

You mean a diatonic harmonica as opposed to the Chromatic one with the slide button you see in the video

When unscrewing and screwing the reed plates watch out you don't slip and bend a reed out of its position

請問有繁體中文解說嗎?
هیچ وقت ساز را باز نکنید ،زیرا گند خواهید زد به ساز
Good vid except better close-ups would help, plus would rather watch her w/ the Chromonica than watch him talking just saying guys. Cheers
