Wow i never though about the story on this level. I see it all in a whole new light now.
Yeah we really enjoyed being able do really get into this show and discussing some things other people might have taken for granted.

Fun Fact: in the story of Journey To The West, Wukong wanted to get a weapon for himself so he went to his friend's palace but he wasn't satisfied with anything there, then he straight up took one of the palace's pillars and took that instead :)

Seiten Taisei is the Japanese pronunciation of
齐天大圣 (in Mandarin Qítiān Dàshèng, in Korean Jaecheondaeseong) meaning Great Sage, Equal of Heaven. It's the title Sun Wukong gives himself after discovering that the Jade Emperor of Heaven named him Stable Boy and isn't really considered a peer in Heaven. He later on proves himself to be the equal of heaven when he singlehandedly repels an invasion by the Army of Heaven (which is alluded to in his flashback). It's a title eponymous with Sun Wukong.
In the same kind of vein, Nyoibo and Kinto'un are famous belongings of Sun Wukong in literature. The way they were name-dropped in this episode, you could consider it being similar to if a foreshadowed character yells "Excalibur!" or the like.
The only reason the wand was small is because the man is abnormally big. In the Manhwa, he’s like double the size of regular people. But he should definitely have a custom-made wand lol

But as a bias webtoon reader I still have to go with ToG due to the sheer whiplash I feel while reading GoH
Yeah we talk about it a lot in the discussion but since we can only go off of what we have actually seen. Which is just the anime adaptations we both prefer GOH. But who knows if we would think differently if we read the source material.

I agree with your thoughts about the adaptation. Cause even thought i liked tower of god more, as a webtoon reader of both I can say that i didnt feel overwhelmed or annoyed by what they cut out. Cause they did cut out a shit ton more than tower of god, but unlike tower of god, none of it was super important, most of it where just random pieces of dialog or fights. So yeah, I enjoyed it despite its flaws.
agreed, when I was first watching this I was a bit annoyed when it came to ep 12&4(kinda, I was sorta annoyed even when it was in the webtoon) otherwise I can say this adaptation was a 9/10, my only real complaint was them cutting Moris and Jegals first fight, I wanted to see their choreography animated

Yeah, has a Webtoon reader of both TOG and GOH, i liked TOG's adaptation more even tho it wasn't that good either. Besides, this is the best moment of GOH, everything after this is convoluted and doesn't make sense, unless they fix it in season 2.
Yeah GOH did start going downhill but it got better and more hype again especially when satan appeared imo

I dont remember much about it since its been a while since i read it but first Mori ressurects or changes form or wahatever the fuck he did, and changes his hair color which makes zero sense at all. The powers also make zero sense, people start doing shit for no reason and pull out random abilities outta no where. its just extremely confusing and dragged out as fuck too. i havent caught up yet so i dont know how the story is going but honestly I was feeling like dropping it after season 2.
I love the design for Jin Mori when he unlocks his power, Those who have read the Journey To The West novel.
Obvious one : The crown on his head is used to control/disciple wukong because he was extremely mischievous and arrogant
The tiger skin he wears, in the novel wukong saves Sanzang from a tiger after he gets released from the mountain, as you know Wukong is a monkey he doesn't wear clothes, Sang askes him to cover himself up, to which wukong skins the tiger and uses its fur to cover himself
About their age, I remember Mujin saying something about emotions needed to awaken the key and it's being easier in their age. I can't remember if it was in the third episode or in the sixth

Jin Mori is factually surprisingly smart. He actually got very good grade at school (which surprises Mira).

There's a lot of good here but it also had more bad than it really should have. Its a solid 6.5 for me. The fights (along with the choreography) is great, the animation looks great, but that second act (middle) was poorly done, got sloppy and yeah if episode 12 didn't convey it enough I don't even know what was happening on screen. Fun fact did you know the only reason Jegal lost in that final battle between Jin is because that Magician's grandfather weakened him? Yeah how were we even suppose to know that little tidbit of info? Anyway the finale episode was "fine" once you activate your Michael Bay Transformers brain and just dont really even think about the plot. Hopefully with the bait and switch high school tournament out of the way we can get a nicely paced and well thought out narration going forward.
18:03 I'm sorry, but he isn't Jin Taejin, the real one is basically the most badass character in God of Highschool, casually mocking gods and kicking them in the face after months of captivity and with a missing arm, not that depressed old man
Re zero is pretty much the Anime of this season for me as much as I enjoyed this it was rushed to oblivion and quite predictable
For me great pretender or may be deca dance for Anime of the season
This only had 13 episodes so it was pretty rushed, re:zero has 25 so at least they won't be rushing arc 4

i would like to point u guyz that in webtoo. after mori got bit memories he didn't fight jegal saying this is for my friends there he was like a different person. but in anime they changed it nicely as if he fights for his friends. this imp detail webtoo. readers who hate goh won't tell u cuz they don't want you to appreciate the alternate story change the author n director made together.
I actually like the changes in the anime as well in this episode.

It kinda differentiate how Sun Wukong now is different from Sun Wukong before eventhough they are the same person (like when he said at the webtoon how he thinks his old self sucks) . Mori kinda hate his old self because he usually just fight for fun and all. But now he is fighting for his friends.
I like those small changes the anime did and I am sure the author wanted it to be that way if he can goes back.
They’re absolutely fucking over both GOH AND TOG adaptions, and they’re gonna do the same thing with Noblesse. It’s a joke at this point. They deserve Vinland Saga type treatment or at least Fire Force. But we’re getting To The Abandoned Sacred Beasts (AKA trash)

Subaru won't become like Mori, Bam or Eren. Many people are used to think that the main character should be badass and strong by the end of the anime. This kinda trope doesn't work in Re:Zero. He just inspires people.

@Krljavi Dzo He never wrote that Subaru is unlikable character. Subaru inspires people around him in anime(arc 5). The author is trying to say that we should see his good qualities. You might heard that from someone else but he never said that Subaru is unlikable character, quite the opposite.
Comedy is about making people laugh. A good comedian can make a lame joke funny with good delivery, and you can have the best joke in the world, but if your delivery is poor, no one will laugh. The delivery is more important than the joke, just like the storytelling is more important than the plot when determining if a show is enjoyable. I agree with you that the directors/writers did a good job with storytelling. Even if the plot can be considered basic or generic at it's core, good storytelling is what determines whether or not it's enjoyable.
that's entirely wrong good story telling means enjoyable it's not something like a rule or fact anime movies some times with no story telling is enjoyable. one punch man nothing to do with story still was famous. if u finding oscar story in action oriented focus anime u should get out from these type anime. in the end your opinion is your world has different people with different take on liking so put your story telling in your ass.

Curious question from me, are you also gonna react to Kings Avatar season 2? Or even movie lol holy crap amazing fights. It’s the only Esport anime out there, the rest are virtual reality genre that’s over used like isekai sadly. The animation is amazing and story is so goddam clean, the new studio is really serious. You can watch it on WeTV I think or TH-cam actually. The life of a pro gamer returning back for Glory. A true hidden gem in 2020.

Tower of God by far was way more Enjoyable.
We could understand some Plot, very distinct Character design. Very Clear Animation unlike GOH, and Tower of God has been more clear to me through out the series.
Personally we did not have that experience at all with tower of god

I mean I think most people do we understood everything in God of Highschool and felt that Tower of God never gave us enough to understand what was happening. Which is a shame because I think I would have really liked ToG if we had had at least more time to see relationships between characters properly develop in a way that didn’t feel rushed. Or just some more world building so we could have a sense of what the greater plot could be and what was actually important.

Not true at all in our opinion from specifically ANIME ONLY perspective. Yes ToG May have been more “deep” but the adaptation cut too much and completely lost us. Fights are cool but literally only if you actually care about the characters. We actually didn’t react to GoH for two weeks when it came out because we didn’t want to watch a show that was just about fights. We were pleasantly surprised when we started watching it to find that the adaptation did an incredible job of knowing how to cut down the story without losing character development or the bonds between friends that actually made sense based on how the characters interacted and what they went through.

Honestly I prefer a second season of ToG i honestly just couldn't care about this show since I had no idea what was going on after ep 7 and characters that aren't Mori, Mira, Daewi, Illpyo are all irrelevant

In terms of adaptations, I much prefer ToG, since GoH was so insanely rushed and changed all the moments I loved from season 1. And for the manhwa of each, ToG just gets better each season, while for GoH season 2 and 3 are trash. I heard that season 4 gets better, but I only got part way through that season before dropping the manhwa. After season 1 GoH is pretty trash tier, unless you are into the DBZ style insane fights and power scaling, but I hate that stuff.

Finally. It has been revealed the first God of this series. The Monkey King. Pure SAKUGA fest by MAPPA was super satisfying.

on a opinion I am saying this based on the FACTS and the facts are Mori NEEDED Jeabongchim 250.000 x to affect the universe, Goku in Battle of Gods was breaking the universe and after Battle of Gods Goku has all this power in his Base form.
Nah. Ragnarok Mori probably can defeat Cell saga Goku. But anything beyond that is above Mori. And I’m not even a dragon ball fan. I don’t like the series but the power level in that show is ridiculous.
Zap Fune I mean, the dude is just pointing out the basic facts. One can blow up a universe easily and one can’t, it’s as simple as that. It doesn’t matter how much you like GoH, that won’t change the facts.
They do have very different power scaling, but comparing feats has nothing to do with power scaling. If Goku is stronger, then he’s stronger, it doesn’t matter how the power scaling got him there.
