At 7:20min on SEEK for R/BL. It refers not to the size of the ship the Harpoon should look for but the distance from the designated target at which the Harpoon's seeker will begin searching: SML (10,000m or 5.4 nm), MED (20,000m or 10.8nm) and LRG (30,000m or 16.2 nm) - ED's EA guide and Chuck's manual. Other than that, this is a very well made tutorial. Thanks!
@@echovictordcsworld Maybe that's actually a typo? I've never heard about a Maverick variant with datalink, while the Walleye did receive a DL upgrade. Seems more likely to me, they took a modular Mav seeker and combined it with the DL of the aging Walleyes. You get a decent modern seeker and the DL remains compatible with already existing systems. It's possible somebody mixed up 62 and 65, leading to the names being swapped and sadly noone caught the error.
That must be the case, yes. I was confused as to why the Maverick was mentioned with the datalink. So hard to find data on these types of missiles without creeping towards Sensitive information. Thank you both for pointing this out, I'll put a note in the description
@@echovictordcsworld Interesting wrinkle, I checked my hard copy of "The Illustrated Directory of Modern American Weapons" (2002) and it stated the same as the FAS source. Either we are wrong about the existence of a Maverick datalink or both sources have the same error! The book also has detailed entries for both the Maverick and Walleye and does not mention a Maverick datalink in the Maverick section either.
Thank you for your video! Unable here to get the SLAM camera active. I am only trying in TOO mode. Basically the timer does not start. Do I always need to have the datalink pod onboard to get it working? Because I am flying with a fuel bag instead.
Yes, unfortunately you need to have the AN/AWW-13 Datalink pod to have the video active. This acts almost like a "WiFi" between the plane and the SLAM to send the video. Also, make sure to select WEP -> The weapon you are firing to link the datalink pod and missile together. Hope this helps!
Thanks for the comment, this point has been put in the description already. The source I used had it written as the Maverick Datalink, which is wrong. Hope you enjoyed the video
The DCS F-4 is modelled on the newer -E variant that only had Sparrows and Sidewinders. The Falcon was only ever used on the older -D variant, so isn't in DCS on our F-4. I'll hopefully be making videos for the F-4 after finishing my F-18 series, so stay tuned!
This is a crazy good video! how is this not more popular?
Thank you so much! I'm only just starting out so hoping the algorithm will pick me up one day :)

Glad you enjoyed! :)
pretty good tutorial

At 0:30 you mixed up the Maverick and Walleye. Sensor is from the Maverick and datalink is from the Walleye.
The guidance system is from the Walleye, and the datalink is from the Maverick. man.fas.org/dod-101/sys/smart/agm-84.htm

Either there is a secret Datalink Maverick or there has been a typo. Thanks for checking that out, I'll have to see if I can find a copy online.

0:34 fyi mavericks don't have datalinks, walleyes do because of the stupid long ranges they could be dropped from an entire factory could be a pixel

@@echovictordcsworld i did thanks, personally don't play dcs but it makes me cry whenever i see how much better off you guys are feature wise 😭
@@echovictordcsworld btw as a side question, does ur F-4 get falcons? or only aim-9s?
