My mom wanted me to do the same. Just remember it's your choice where's best for you and I promise it will probably be for the best to leave a comfort zone! If price and such isn't an issue then you go for it.

I love watching these dorm videos, but what I don't understand about the US are your comforters! Why do you not have a duvet for it, like with the pillow you "dressed"? Here the comforters are sold as plain white and then you buy separate duvet cover sets. What do you do when you want a new theme for your bed? Buy a whole new comforter? So confused!
Haha good question!! We have duvet covers too and I have one on my bed at home but I just wanted this specific print so I got this comforter :) But you are so right duvet covers are a really good idea!

kiaraaaa i remember watching this video when it came out when i was in 4th grade. i was obsessed with college move in vlogs and now here i am, a rising senior!! the time flies and i just cannot believe i’m already almost there! I remember watching this video thinking that you looked so old and adult but now as i rewatch this vlog, you look like you’re my age and it’s just insane to me! thank you kiara for sparking my excitement to go to college way back in 4th grade 🫶

I've watched this video like 5 times now because I'm going to college in the fall. I'm so nervous. I love how this vlog was so raw and relatable and you vlogged every aspect of that day. College seems so far away but i'm already planning it all out. How did you get the idea of decorating your dorm in that way and would you recommend having community- style bathrooms or having a bathroom in your room? Love your vlogs

I'm a senior this year in high school and I'm applying to USF Florida southern college University of central florida since I live in Florida. I was wondering did you have the butterflies when you entered your first college class? By the way love the video.
Thanks so much for commenting!! You're at such an exiting time in your life! And to answer your question, yes I did have butterflies! To be honest I was wholeheartedly dreading leaving home and the life that I have known for 18 years!! But something weird happened the day of move in and when I saw my room and started to set it all up I was legit so exited I could not be nervous! And I have not been homesick at all besides a few moments when I am feeling down and think about home and work myself up when it is no big deal. I am so happy to be here and college is so new and exiting there is so much to look forward to trust me :)

Oh my goodness my dorm last year in Hamilton was literally the smallest living space ever haha. I didn't realize the GSH dorms were so big and nice!
Oh yeah I have a friend in Hami and she is so jealous of our room haha I feel very spoiled ;)
as an animal lover, i have to say that your fish “tank” is way too small. not to mention that having it uncovered could also lead to some other problems; and the bowl, because it is round and his view of the room is weird, can stress him out and kill him. it’s been years so he’s probably not living anymore and you have probably changed. but i feel it’s my duty to tell you this because i know the fish can’t talk
i also find that buying beta fish is super sad because they're usually alone and spend all their lives alone in a small tank :(

I've been keeping betta fishes for a long time and they actually fine with leaving in a small space cos they're alone. You can't put them with/or beside other fishes cos that will stress them out.

7 years and University kind of is college. Google is your friend for anything else.
University is a bigger form of a college.... just more students and most likely a bigger campus. Most people go college for 4 years but some go 2 at the least if they do decide to go

Definitely don't bring your whole wardrobe or bring tons and tons of decor. Most dorms are small and won't fit all of that.
There are lots of college lists - I suggest checking out your housing website for information.

Have a blast during your freshman year of college, it can be a little hard to get use to things in the beginning but honestly just enjoy every moment cause it FLYS by so fast, i know mines did and I loved every moment of it!

To me this is an interesting video because I'm in college and still live at home. It must be hard in the beginning to be all by yourself but on the other side you have YOUR SPACE which is really cool cause you can decorate it just how YOU like... Awesome video!!!

Awe good that's exactly what I made it for!! I am so glad you found it helpful! Also if you want to get a nice room here you MUST do your housing app in december when it comes out or else you will get stuck in a prison cell room! We were so so lucky that we got to switch into the room I have now because we were at the top of the list!

Liane Giago global scholars is just the dorm I am staying in and although the honors college lives here other people can too regardless of their GPA :) but if you are still curious my high school GPA is a 3.95 😊
