Also keep in mind, bucc oath is ONLY good in pvp if you remember to kill random AI ships or bait your opponent to stay around settlements. If you're running events like cutthroat it's essentially useless and there -are- better armor options.
No doubt! I definitely wouldn't run it solo pvp based on speed alone. So many more viable get up and go builds with other ships. I've been seeing an uptick in small ships out and about. Have you seen anything on those?
@aggressivemayo I'm all for small ships. I run a sloop myself primarily for pvp and forts since they get a natural 40% structure bonus. S2 made small ships very viable, but I don't think the community as a whole has really looked into what made a few of them really great. All small ships got heavy arsenal from upgrading, which gives broadsides +50٪ damage done. Sloop got a 10% damage delt debuff for anything it hits, paired with S2 drops makes it extremely tanky and can go toe to toe with anything on the seas. I've had dozens of brigantine and sambuk players ask why they felt like I was eating them alive while they did almost nothing in return. Everyone just seems to underestimate them, which I don't blame since they were suicidal to stick with in S1.
@@davidmessemer5895 omg where have you been my whole life? That's amazing! Nothing beats the underdogs being the unexpected powerhouse. Now I'm loading back in today to play around with them. That's what originally got me into the Sambuc, just so many who refused to touch it because the rammer was all in with dardanelles. Then ofc everyone went to the healer ship because it didn't get the same wind penalty so it could speed away if you could dodge the surlocks and avoid tears. You should join up sometime and war boat around. Season 2 finally made being a pirate viable which I absolutely loved about it. Fingers crossed Season 3 really brings it home.
I've not seen a viable snow since season one. With the anticipated damage mitigation changes inbound, Sambuc is going to worm it's way back to the top of the list.
@@aggressivemayo sambuk is crazy with the fire bombards you just cant block the damage for long also the secondary damage is crazy both pvp an pve...im all about the brigantine just love how it looks and with the long guns only if the game didnt bugged whenever i enter battle wind no wind max speed 12

Still can't sink a rigging/prince snow. I've harassed enough sambuks to know their effort is futile. XD

@@user-IvanStoev oh god that down wind penalty hurts so so much. Cruising along at 20 knots to hit a sandbag of wind to 12 😭😭
@aggressivemayo somedays no matter which direction I go wind is all the time moving against me :D
