فانضموا إلينا لاكتشاف بستان دانا، مشروع الزراعة البيئية الموجود في الفحيص، الأردن. تعاونت دانا مع مستشار الزراعة البيئية توماس فيرنلي بيرسون لتحويل قطعة أرض جافة تبلغ مساحتها 3 دونم وذات منحدر حاد، إلى بستان غير تجاري ينتج الفواكه والخضروات والأعشاب العطرية. 🍃🍓
تعرض هذه الحلقة إنتاجًا عضويًا ومستدامًا رغم التحديات مثل الموقع الجبلي الذي يؤدي إلى انجراف المياه. تعلموا كيف يجمعون مياه الأمطار باستخدام مفهوم "البطيء والانتشار والتسرب" من خلال بناء مصاطب حجرية طويلة الأمد تميل قليلاً نحو التل وبركة لإدارة المياه الزائدة في فصل الشتاء. 🌧️🌳 يبرز المشروع أهمية إدارة المياه، والاستخدامات المختلفة للأشجار، وإنشاء نظام بيئي ذاتي التنظيم إلى حد ما. 🌿💧

Join us and discover Dana’s orchard, an agroecology project located in Fuhais, Jordan. Dana collaborated with agroecology consultant Thomas Fernley-Pearson to turn a steep, dry 3 dunum plot into a non-commercial orchard producing fruits, vegetables, and aromatic herbs.
This episode showcases organic, sustainable production despite challenges like its hillside location which leads to water erosion. Learn how they harvest rainwater, using the “slow-spread-sink” paradigm, by building long-term, stone-based terraces that are slightly inclined towards the hill and a pond to manage winter’s excess rain events. The project highlights the importance of water management, the various uses of trees, and the creation of a (somewhat) self-regulating ecosystem.
