      @@hellium6613 I agree Kipchoge's performance at Boston shouldn't be the reference. But you can't denie that Evans having won three major tough marathons in his last three appearances is something to be underrated. Because who else has won three like him? I can only rank goat Kipchoge and Kelvin kiptum above him.

      Tbf there is no pacing and the last two Olympics were won in 2.08 - if Kiptum goes out like usual with a 61 minute half marathon, there will be guys who can hold that pace almost all the way, but nobody will be able to hold onto him if he drops his usual

    Talk about how crazy this olympics will be!!!! Kelvin Kiptum is able to perform a sub 2:02 everywhere he runs and Kipchoge Wants to win his third gold medal, so, are you getting it? A true historical battle, I am extremely excited about it

    • @19Kamau79
      @19Kamau79 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Paris forecast could be +28C° or 83F° and superhuman Kiptum will be surely affected by mother nature. No one will ever outrun weather conditions and also it's possible Kiptum will not win, there's deep field of marathoners and someone always do the best in the heat. Actually Kipchoge has shown potential in 2016 Rio.

    • @Nini-pw4uf
      @Nini-pw4uf ปีที่แล้ว

      You can’t predict weather. The temperature range at this season is very wide, it may be 15C, 59F (on the morning), for instance 2023, just as well as over 40C or 105F, for instance 2019.
      Just wait and see.

    • @joelmacinnes2391
      @joelmacinnes2391 ปีที่แล้ว

      @19Kamau79 in rio kipchoge only ran 2.08 (I say 'only' 😅) so it wasn't as if he was throwing in the kitchen sink - i don't imagine the temperature will have a huge impact in Paris. If its a slow race guys like Kipchoge and Kiptum will be able to pull away towards the end, and there would be potential for an upset, but if kiptum leads with a 61' first half then nobody is catching him in the 2nd half

    • @19Kamau79
      @19Kamau79 ปีที่แล้ว

      @joelmacinnes2391 Kiptum will hit the wall if he goes out 61half in the heat, thought if there's rainy and cool day in Paris no runner will follow him. We don't actually know his potential as he has done three cool weather marathons and he did them sensationally. Heat or altitude affect individually all of us no matter are you jogger or elite or best of the best.

I am pretty sure than Hassan first ambition is now to win the Olympic marathon. She also said that Kipyegon was an inspiration and that she still wanted to increase her speed. For a gold in Marathon and another medal, 1500m and Marathon, or 5000m and Marathon are two options. One thing is sure if the people who do the selection of the national teams do not get it right they get run out of the country before sun down.
    They are like Brasileiros when it comes to their futbol selection team. The debate rages for four years between World Cups.
    I hope for the selectors sake they get it right.
