    Love you brother Yinka! Please don’t change yourself. I have been in America about 20 years and got a higher education in America and having Americans as my clients but I still retain my Nigerian accent oooo

    I love his humility & originality. In a world where so many Naija’s are always forming, authenticity took Lamb to heights he never thought he’d reach.

    What he is saying is real jare. Me too marry an American man and language na barrier for us cos sometimes I barely understand what he's saying and he barely understands me too but because we live together we now understand each other better 😅😅

    The average American loves to head a foreign accent. Only the truly ignorant or racial ones don’t. As a Jamaican married do an American our cultural differences has sweetened our 21 year marriage. Yes don’t change -
    Adapt but don’t change.

    More Nuggets
    13. No matter what happens, don't change who you are from anybody. (Caveat: This does not extend to improving yourself or correcting your flaws.)
    14. Be You. The best You you can be is You, yes You.
    15. Education is Fantastic but the Street University can teach a lot. You can learn from many sources.
    16. God knows the journey of every man and sees our hearts. He alone will make us cross paths with the right people.
    17. Be discipled and be a good person.
    18. When you cross paths with the right people, don't mess it up.

    I have never tried to change my accent neither. My brother in law came before my husband and I, he did all he could do to make his accent disappeared but unfortunately nobody till today understands what he says.
    One American lady told me to never try to change my accent to please people or to try to fit in this country. I was thankful to her because I felt understood.

    • @diddlydooha
      @diddlydooha ปีที่แล้ว

      you are RRRRRIIIIIGGGHHHTTTTTT... your accent DOES NOT NEED TO BE CHANGED. All you need to do is speak English in an intelligible, clear manner so that people can understand you. Everyone in The US is from another country... and speak with their own accent ... EVERYONE ... except the Native/Aborigines, who the NEW AMERICANS have ostracized and tried to kill off. Only their children have rejected their parents' accents and are trying to be all fairytale like in thinking they are superior because they were born in that country. I see it before my eyes each day when even children of Central and South Americans reject their parents' Spanish JUST to speak "American-sounding" English. 99% of them do not even speak Spanish and that hurts their parents but they do not care because, "I am American, not Spanish!" ha!
      Do not let ANY so-called "Americans," with that fake Hollywood / fairytale accent, make you think you are not equal because you do not speak in THAT way. You have waaaaayyy better vocabulary and grammar than them, they just have a made-up fake accent. However, you cannot believe that people in The US will understand your accent too. However, you will need to MELD into the pot and speak in a clear international fluent English. Try not to say "baggah", because YOU DO NOW there is an "R" in the word, and "R" sounds like rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, not "ah". Therefore the word is burrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr-gerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Say that and you have then spoke clear international English which EVERY English speaker will understand. No need to try to put on an "Ah, meyyyyyrrrrr- ih- kayyyyynn" accent when you say burrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr-gerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, that's all. Just say burrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr-gerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. As long as it is not baggah then you're good!
