Just recently returned from my own crossing of Australia ...had to bite down on the 'mouth piece' on the ride back to cover 1100kms from Ceduna to Fraser Range station on my Africa twin....(done with the addition of an expensive Touratech seat for making it more comfortable)...can only imagine how difficult and uncomfortable it would be riding a Monkey bike. Great effort and achievement

They have 9.3:1 compression. They could run perfectly on 91 or 95. The yellow bikes better economy could be due to Colin's work on tuning , exhaust and gearing choices.
I'm watching you saying things like "I've found a side track" and "Here's something interesting" and my first thought is "Just get to Perth!" But then I watch the drone footage and it's so much better than just the highway. So well done for showing us more of that part of Australia than we might normally see. And if you do decide to leave the bike in Perth and fly home, I still think you're a legend. There's no failure in making the call.

You guys are "Champions"! It takes alot stamina to ride those Monkey bikes as far as you have! They are tough little bikes for sure! Upgrade the drive chains to a "double O-ring" chain and clean a lube often, you get less stretch and more miles! As always the drone footage is outstanding! Keep up the great ride for a great cause...Be safe, and enjoy the ride!!
Hi Octane only gives you better MPG if you have higher compression ratio or advanced timing.. If you don't need the higher octane gas your MPG will go down ..
