It just calculates all the buffs from characters giving to each other , zenkai as well, and equipment bonus.
You can autofill the team to have the highest possible ability bonus

diddy vegito blue prevent dragonball and card destruction at start of battle for i think 40 counts so gogeta blue getting his gauge and destroying all the opponents strikes doesnt work on VB he can still strike card you forever.

I'm going to be honest you lost most of your matches because you did not use your green with UI like at all you used it once in a combo and that does not work like that you need to use it to bait someone or start a combo and then you get a free combo you're in a 2v1 with Vegito you could have save UI and then use the green with UI
