Her family is based somewhat on Amish culture and a lot of young adults do get to go out and experience the outside world and decide if they want to stay in the community or leave. So I imagine when she got her cutie mark she was allowed to go out and explore and ended up deciding to live in Ponyville because of the general friendly nature of the whole town.

The creators of MLP are also known for using real-life culture from around the world to create their characters and locations. It really does make sense to have the Pie family be based on Amish culture, and I think it can help to make people from all backgrounds feel included. :)

Me: Oh no, he didn’t even give his daughter any personal space and treated her like a filly all throughout the episode, I do not favor him at all. Safe and secure? Ha, what a laugh, he didn’t read up on her body language that she’s not a filly anymore and she is a grown mare and should be treated like one. That’s a big thing in parenting, don’t baby your children. Don’t coddle them, or do anything that makes them really uncomfortable. Even my mom knows that she should respect my personal space and when I want hugs, I’ll initiate the hug or give a nonverbal gesture that I’d like a hug.

Me: The reason why I don’t like this guy is because he’s TOO supportive of his daughter. He didn’t even give his daughter a reality check that she’s not always going to be the best at some things, but she should still try her best. What he had been doing all throughout the episode could be considered illegal in real life; Trespassing on a military base, disrupting the peace on multiple accounts, bringing explosives [fireworks] to a show, and endangering the performers lives. Also come minor annoyances like distracting RainbowDash which caused to to slip up and accidentally cut Spitfire’s tail.

Me: Crap, I wonder who #1 is? Welp, I agree that Bright Mac is an honorable stallion and father to Big Mac, Applejack, and Applebloom. He’s also my favorite of mane 6’s dads.

Me: This guy ditched his daughter because of who she loved, that’s not honorable by any means.

Me: Passive too much and let his son walk all over him.

Me: This guy spoiled his daughter way too much and didn’t teach her the meaning of the word “No” and he could be hit with a lawsuit for blackmailing his renter. It isn’t his shop so he has no say in who she hires or not, that’s just not his place.
