I started in 1981 with Basic, then machine code. I had no assembler so I would write a function / routine in assembler then hand translate it to op codes and type in hex codes into Basic which would poke into memory and then call the function. Then I learned Pascal, C, Delphi, C++, Java, VHDL, Javascript and Python. What I use the most is Delphi because source is readable, full control from high to low level, quick compilation and fast code.
