Love this tutorial series, simple, short, crisp and educational. Thanks for that! It should perhaps be mentioned here that you have to activate "Compute Tangents" in the Create Attribute node. Otherwise you won't see anything if you put the noise on the bump map at 4:14. That was deactivated by default and gave me a short WTF moment. :)
I have gone back through a few times and I can't figure out why when I put the null into the Bump Map, it makes everything go black. When i put it into the color map its fine, but then the bump makes everything go black. any idea why?
After checking the warning in Render a few times (I assume you get an alert in render too), I turned on Compute Tangents and Compute Normals on under Attribute Create, then the expected visual showed up!
I'm stuck @4:12 where you're supposed to drop the null to the color map / bump. It has the sideways arrow when I click but not the plus sign. A small grey box that says "colormap" pops up but has no way for me to select it. When I hover over that option it disappears. edit: after some trial and error I was finally able to figure it out. I had to go through and recreate some of the components in the chain. I had started with an "attribute" instead of "attribute create" for instance. These videos and the contributing comments are incredible. THANK YOU!

How and where do you activate "Compute Tangents"? I'm stuck on that exact step. Can't even get the node to attach.
