Its 20-meter barrel allowed it to fire 750 kg rounds up to 45 km.
The rate of fire of the gun according to technical specifications was 12 shots per hour.

1 round per 5 minutes is still impressive for the time though
The Karl Gerät had a fire rate of one round every 10 minutes
Your comparing 420mm with slightly less than A Ton from 1957 with 600mm of around 2 tons from 1940 (But the transformer had at least a increase in Range)
The Karl Gerät was much older and "chambered" in 600mm not 400mm. The soviets could have done a lot better but considering it was more of a propaganda project im not surprised they didnt put any money in it.
The Mörser Karl is a 600mm not a 400mn
totally useless artillery, it has about 0 accuracy, huge and slow, easy to be detected by anti-artillery radars and destroyed in counter-battery battle, can be used in battle against civilians but not against the army
@@Devnbp1 Well first of all mister reddit general, these were ww1/2 artillery there was no aRtiLlErY rAdaR. Neither were there any jdams or laser guided sdbs you could drop. To reinforce these machines they also were placed fairly far behind frontlines and protected by several anti air batteries and usually a flight of several interceptors on standby to do what they do best and intercept any incoming bombers. Were they easy targets? Yes were they slow to reload? Yes. But getting to them was a lot more difficult and their accuracy was good enough to fulfill their purpose which was blowing giant holes into big bunker arrays on a reinforced front.

The swedes were and still are engineering marvels from cars to planes and tanks. The Bkan 1C was a terrifying spg with its insane rate of fire, the archer is another quick firing swedish spg, The stridsvagen 103 series of tanks were amazing for a fixed barrel MBT with its cool suspension, and the list goes on and on.....
But the archer is quite unpopular with customers, it is considered too much complex for the performances.

8:45 2B1’s barrel length is about 20 meters. The barrel length of the German Paris gun from WWI was about 21 meters. Basically what the Soviets did was put a Paris gun on tracks. Mobile Paris gun. And up the caliber by over 200mm.
So they did their own thing...

The one to hold the cup is the Little David test launcher used by US ordinance development, with a bore size of 914mm.
😱😱😱😱😱😱
914mm?
@@ayuayu958 Yup. It was a testbed launcher for aircraft bombs that could launch anything the bombers would carry while not needing a runway or an experienced pilot. The projectiles were, of course, shot with a sabot that made them fit the massive barrel.
Can little David destroy battleship ONE SHOT?
The Oka and what ever the other one was called they were never put into service because they literally destroyed their self with every shot that’s how power full they were
No
May I just ask why you keep forgetting the SU-100Y? In videos where you feature tanks of the Soviet Union, you forget that the SU-100Y was a tank destroyer, and in this video, you forget it was also an SPG (Yes, it's both an SPG and a tank destroyer). If you want information, I'll give you some history of it. The SU-100Y is armed with the 130mm B-13 Naval Gun which was intended to destroy Finnish fortifications, but since it was manufactured after the Winter War, it was brought to Kubinka. And when the Germans got to Moscow, it was pressed into service along with the 152mm-gun-armed SU-14. It survived the war and is now at Kubinka Tank Museum. Don't forget it next time. You can find the rest of the information and history somewhere.
SU-100Y was not an SPH tho
He hate the tank
Ehh the SU-100Y is more akin to the Tank Destroyer rather than a Self Propelled Howitzer which this video specifically called for
Brummbar? KV-2? FV4005?
the kv-2 is a heavy tank and the fv 4005 is a tank destroyer not a artillery gun
