The musical demos at that time were still an exported audio of our written music sheets. Few years after the retirement of this production, I tried revisiting our musical sheets and available footages of the show to recreate the song that left a mark to our audiences.

we have a filipino community in our international university here in Japan. Multicultural week is coming up and for Philippine week, we wrote a play inspired by the story of the ibong adarna. We can't wait to use this song and share our culture with so many people abroad!!!
We used this in our "Sarswela" in Filipino against 1 other regular section and the Special Section and won 1st place with the best Ibong Adarna award😊

Somehow the tune of the song sounds so familiar. Very similar to the ibong adarna theatrical play I watched back in grade 6. It was the first full length play I watched as a kid and it was amazing. The Aaaaah's of one song sung by the actress playing the ibong adarna were very much like this.

Background:
The lyrics was part of Sir Dan's full script of Ang Hiwaga ng Ibong Adarna for Tanghalang SLU, Center for Culture and the Arts. The melody and chords for Song number 2 (Awit ng Ibong Adarna) began from me as a harp, and vocal music score, and Mark Jay Felipe helped add guitar parts and lyric syllabication check. Nhatz Melchor played violoncello. Handiong Kapuno and later, Nhatz had their own percs. Mama Pitch (Michelle Monzon) sung this in the first season, then Mariane G. Calsiman at the last season.

We'd really appreciate it if you could get in touch with Dan Rommel Riopay for us so we can have some sort of formal letter or communication about the permission cause it's such a great track and incredibly on-theme with what we're doing.
It's for a symphonic folk metal track and we'll be changing the key to D minor to better fit our instrument tunings. It's great you guys got the sheet music already so I only have to transpose it instead of notating by ear.

For singing this live, the ahh🎵 parts are sang using head tone, which is a smooth tone. This is how this song was sang in the theatre production. Still, if you can, you're free to sing it in full voice like Maika did in this video.
