I used to live next door to Action Park in great gorge village! We used to sneak in through the woods. We just had a bunch of wristbands that we saved and we would go on the days when the colors matched again. Also, I personally, never went on most of those rides! You'd have to be crazy!! But my jam was the alpine slide! Saw a few people with pavement burns bit I made it okay 👍🏼😤

This is a really smart way to get a lot of ride length without making the guests climb a 12 story tower.

@moot _ More like a normal Flat ride. Maybe a tad more complicated than a ferris wheel but not worse than a big topspin. Slow rotational speed and high mass aren't problems that good engineering can't handle.

It looked like 360 degree footage projected onto 180 degrees or perhaps some other angle. That will mess the angles up like the footage shown. It might have been nice to interactively shift around the viewpoint on the 360 degree footage... possibly in VR.
Anyway, I've managed to find different footage of the slide on this channel at:

I still don’t get how at the end when going towards the exit the tube goes from pointing down away from the exit to all of the sudden now pointing downwards heading down to the exit.. does the right do complete 360s somehow while you’re not aware on the ride? How does the ride just go from pointing downwards away from the exit to then pointing upwards and then downwards towards the exit?? Like where is the ride turning and how are they traveling up the tube??

What will be the first US park to go in on one of these? My guess is Volcano Bay. I could also see a park like Dollywood Splash throwing down the coin for the tech. She has been really on top of tech in the last 15 years. DWS also really needs another big centerpiece type area. At this point it’s a day or two park.

have you thought about making that into a water pump with 3 or 4 tubes.. to dip into canals or aquaducts to raise the water at a fraction of the price of pumping it.. even using offset weights that are chain driven to assist in counter balancing the full tubes.. even scaling it up in size to create a 200' version to raise the water 90 feet or so.. half the electrical energy used in california is for pumping water around. it would not work for the giant lifts where in some spots water is lifted around 3000 feet to go over mountains.. but to keep the water flowing in the aquaducts boost lifts could use that as a product.. basicly building a large Archimedes' screw with no losses as the entire water volume is captured instead of bypassing around the blades..

Can someone please explain to me how this is exciting. Ones you are inside it. You come to a stand still while the tube moves underneath you. Pointless. Its main aim is to look good on the outside. Waste of money

th-cam.com/video/jrR39JxKkqw/w-d-xo.html here’s a PoV , you don’t stand still , The spinning moves you around ( cuz the slide is not a straight section it’s got lots of curves which become short drops ) but you’re never actually upside down ( thank Jesus )
