If not for the public panic "Typhoid Mary" had caused she may have well earned her day in court to fight it.

Sentenced to life in prison in 2009 and currently serving his time at Garsten Abbey, a former monastery in Upper Austria that has been converted into a prison. His case was the subject of the movie "Room". I can remember watching this on the news and later watching a documentary about his crime. Another case in CA of Cameron Hooker who was arrested for the kidnapping & torture of a young woman, held as a sex slave in a box under he & his wife's bed for seven years. Still alive. Numerous books, films & TV shows about his case.
