Thank you so much Tom sp. Patterson for the new Aphonopelma! These are the species I got ~ Aphonopelma gabeli - hardcorearachnids.com/products/aphonopelma-gabeli Aphonopelma moderatum - hardcorearachnids.com/products/aphonopelma-moderatum Aphonopelma sp crinirufum - hardcorearachnids.com/products/aphonopelma-cf-crinirufum
Aphonopelma saguaro would be pronounced "Sah-whar-oh" like a saguaro cactus. Thanks for the video! I loooooove the "boring browns" they're so beautiful! Glad you appreciate them too
I keep all of those same species. You got lucky with that gabeli. They're almost never that calm. In my experience, it's one of the more spicy Aphonopelmas out there. Mine will readily throw up threat postures, and slap at anything near it. Another "Aphonopelma but probably something else" you should look into if you don't already have one. Aphonopelma anitahofmannae, the Pedregal tarantula. They're fluffy! I believe they are going to be, or have already been, moved to the genus Dugesiella though. But it looks like Aphonopelma, it walks like Aphonopelma, and it quacks like an Aphonopelma, soooo... yeah, they're pretty cool tarantulas. Also recommend Aphonopelma vorhiesi, Aphonopelma armada, and Aphonopelma iodius. All 3 are native to the US, and are distinct in both appearance, and "personality".
a. chalcodes (the arizona blonde specifically) was one of the first tarantulas I truly fell in love with. i've never understood people's tendency to tell other people what they should like. like i'm sorry you don't have taste but i fail to see why that's my problem.
Aphonopelma saguaro is a tiny little dwarf species from Arizona! They max out at about 2.5 in. DLS. Barely bigger than Cyriocosmus, but with a much much longer life span. :D
Not that I should play favorites of my arachni-kids , but my Aphonopelma chalcodes has me the most smitten by far. They are such a curious little sweetheart and i adore watching them, and about the size of your larger ones. I need more aphonopelmas
mechanical damage is the main worry i have with my tarantulas biting, way more concerned about urticating hairs in the eyes! some of the slowest growing of my spiders have been the most rewarding :3
I love my little Aphonopelma chalcodes sling. I've had it for about 1.5 years and it's getting ready to molt for the second time. It's still the size of my pinky nail. I'm looking forward to the long haul experience.
I love my chalcodes sling too! I've had mine almost 2 years & it has molted a few times. It has not gotten THAT much bigger, but I'm still surprised by the size it has put on. Growing them up from being super tiny does take patience, but I feel accomplishment with every molt. I feel like my little one is fat as he'll, but always looks like it wants to eat, so I call it "fat, fat" or "McFatterson". Lol And it can't make up it's mind if it wants prekilled or live prey. When I give it live, it acts scared, but always eats it later & when I put prekilled in there, it leaves it alone & then eats right after the 24 hour mark...I'm like "make up your mind already. I don't want to stress you out or have you eating spoiled food".
I literally just learned about the moderatum and I'm SO JEALOUS you got one! Agreed, anyone that thinks aphonopelma are boring has only seen 2 species of them
Hi Kat!, Aphonopelma saguaro is one of the miniature Aphonopelma. It will stay small! Aphonopelma madera will also be small, they are a montane species. Thank you for spreading the good word haha. I study Aphonopelma (PhD) and they are for sure underrated.
I love aphonopelma too! Microwilderness mentioned some awesome colored species on his podcast with Richard from Tarantula Collective a while back...he even mentioned one with white on it & I could not believe it. I actually made a note while listening on my phone & now I want to look for it. The ones with the blue chelicerae are definitely a species I will add to my list! So jealous of your unboxing today. Tom always gives you the best boxes!
I love my Alphonopelma species. I was inspired to get my first Tarantula, an Alphonopelma steindechnari by this channel. I have an Alphonopelma seemani that is stunning. One of my most beautiful T's.
Would you ever get a crab spider? We have them all over the place down in Florida. Also thank you for your channel! I have the most horrible arachnophobia and your channel has helped me come a long way with conquering it. ❤
I love your content, because of you I went from absolutely no spiders to a jumping spider all the way to two tarantulas, thank you because my Alphonopelma Chalcodes, Seraphim, will always be the treasure of my collection and very special to me
Back in the early 60's as kids we use to collect (we called them night spiders) spiders at night on the farm house windows. We looked for the ugliest. We used glass mason jars. We had jars everywhere!LOL Grandma thought it was funny.
I would love to watch breeding guides! We are collecting morphs that we love, and thinking about breeding in the future. (Ball Pythons and Bearded Dragons) I'd like to get into invertebrates also. No reptile facts for you.
I ADORE my Aphonopelma Calchodes Dolly. I got her as a freebie from an order and she is my treasure. She is so timid and gentle and I cannot imagine not just loving her on sight and without hesitation. She’s also very fast for all this is said about how they are a do-nothing species. I also have a moderatum, but that thing burrowed the second it got the chance and I’ve not seen it since. Hoping that it is more out in the open when it gets bigger in twenty years.
I am a Tliltocatl, Brachypelma and Grammostola girl. 100% a lover of the so called basic ts. I do love the Ceratogyrus genus too. 😄 I do not own a single Aphonpelma and have 30 ts and 3 jumping spiders. It almost seems criminal. 😂 Such a cute genus. Great video as always Kat. ❤
I love Aphonopelma 🥰 currently raising 2 Hentzi slings 🥰 and this Sunday there’s a show I will go to and hope to find some more interesting ones - I want a Moderatum too 🙈
I feel you girl. I keep a Black Milk who needs a bit of humidity in his enclosure so I have dirt under my nails 24/7 bc I'm mixing up his substrate like twice a day 🙃
I like you enjoy the Aphonopelma species most out of my critters. They were described as the bulldozers of the tarantula world. And they are. Tom Moran just a rehousing. A great watch.
I think it is mostly the tarantula look itself which makes them cool and is independent from the color. A. chalcodes is one of my dream tarantulas I wish to have one day and I would also love to have an A. hentzi. Also, when I saw a tarantula for the first time and fell in love with that animal as a kid, it was a simple brown one, so I still like such pretty much.
I mailed you some of my art some time ago(11 by 17 inch originals) , I'm not actually sure how long it'd take to ship, oh and the slings look like something I'd want to add to my collection as well I'll have to keep an eye out for them where I'm at.
I wish I had more money to spend on these spiders. I love, love, them!! I wish I had more. I just had my Mexican Red Knee. I wish I could make a channel and sponsors. You do an amazing job with those cute babies and adults and explaining things about them. Your my favorite channel ever!! 🕷️🕷️🕷️🕸️🕸️!
Bro i got my first adult turantula aphomopelma chalcodes sorry if i spell it wronf but i love him so much he was so cute and gentle when i first unboxed him im in awe all the time. Hes my first handled big turantula since i got over my fear of spiders two years ago started from jumping spiders and wolf spider and velvet spiders to these beautiful ones who make me love them so much
I think I've commented this to you before, but I am a sucker for the Aphonopelma Genus. There are 11 of the different species that I absolutely HAVE TO HAVE from it lol. So far I have 4. They are so curious and sweet. I love them! My subadult Hentzi and subadult Seemanni are my two largest, at 4 inches, my Moderatum is about 2.5 and my baby Hentzi is almost 3/4 of an inch :) I'm looking for the rest that are on my list. A couple will be difficult to find. I wish you the best with your new babies! Let us know what you name them all ;)
Awesome Video Tarantula Kat 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
I've had so many tarantulas grow up well into the juvi stage before my aphonopelma chalcodes sling molted one time. I love it but this is the slowest growing T everrrrrr
my first full grown t i bought is an a seemanni and she is the most gorgeous and sweetest girl in the world, i hope to introduce more aphonopelma to my family
Hello! new subscriber here,I live in the Philippines and i can say that Tarantula species here are relatively common for example i see people selling B.Hamori slings for like 150 pesos or 2 dollars which is pretty shocking 😮
I have another Stichoplastoris (probs spelt that wrong) species, it's the Nicaraguan gold one, eo if my crinirufums end up being that genus too then I'll be perfectly happy with that. Tbh my crinirufums don't seem to burrow as much as my Stichoplastoris does.
Brown is my least favorite color so to me, they are a bit boring in appearance(i just like bright colors). But do i find them boring in general? No, i love learning about the different kinds, and its fun watching someone like you who loves them!
I'm a Canadian and for the longest time we couldn't even get most Aphonopelma species here! I finally was able to get an A. chalcodes and it verified my suspicion that aphonopelma are in fact THA BEST
My dream tarantula is an A. hentzi, but it would need to be an adult or sub adult male. You see, I am 65, and I figure I have at least 20 years to enjoy my tarantulas, so a tiny sling wouldn’t grow up fast enough, lol!!!
I personally feel that there is no boring spider. And no boring coloration.. I mean each spider has its own unique look. And none of them really look like the others identically. I mean there's always some variation of pattern in coloration. But you know for people to say that spiders are boring they're not even certain species of spiders are not boring. My Aphonopelma seemani is one of the prettiest T's I have. Her tummy is a lovely peachy color and she sits head up in her burrow right in the corner and I see her fuzzy little underside all day. Aphonopelmas are awesome. I also have a Aphonopelma calchodes. 😀

Aphonopelma supremacy!🔊🔊🔊
That little one was doing the cat not going into the carrier move. So cute.
I love Aphonopelma and Brachypelma idc how "basic" they are
a. chalcodes (the arizona blonde specifically) was one of the first tarantulas I truly fell in love with. i've never understood people's tendency to tell other people what they should like. like i'm sorry you don't have taste but i fail to see why that's my problem.
This!! 💯
Yes! I have one A. Chalcodes and I absolutely love her. So much personality and she's always sitting out. I find her super interesting and pretty!
The only species i have multiple of
Aphonopelma saguaro is a tiny little dwarf species from Arizona! They max out at about 2.5 in. DLS. Barely bigger than Cyriocosmus, but with a much much longer life span. :D
Awesome!! I love dwarf species

The way you build new enclosures, and the knowledge you display, makes you the NUMBER 1 authority on spiders on the internet!
I like them but they also grow so so so slow 😅. Means they’ll be around for a long time!

You are my fav youtuber!! Don't take haters seriously, you're the best!!! Keep of the good work
I definitely need some Aphonopelma action, they are lovely looking T's
They are so adorable!
I did an order with Hardcore a few weeks ago, super awesome experience
Back in the early 60's as kids we use to collect (we called them night spiders) spiders at night on the farm house windows. We looked for the ugliest. We used glass mason jars. We had jars everywhere!LOL Grandma thought it was funny.

Aphonopelma are great! They have what I call a “subtle beauty” about them, they are not boring at all.
I love Aphonopelma 🥰 currently raising 2 Hentzi slings 🥰 and this Sunday there’s a show I will go to and hope to find some more interesting ones - I want a Moderatum too 🙈
Thanks to you I start my own collection of tarantulas and I love them all ❤😊

it's cute the way she butched ' Saguaro ' !🌵✌🤔😅

Just got my first ever spider (P. regius) today! Your videos really inspired me to learn more about these creatures.
AMAZING I love these special cut tarantulas!
Nice enclosures and nice spiders!
I love aphonopelma geniuses and big fan of you kat you been a inspiration to me on keeping tarantulas 💯
I think it is mostly the tarantula look itself which makes them cool and is independent from the color. I have a bunch of PO Box stuff I’ll open soon 😊
Is there another new plush in the works? Your couch is looking a little more crowded vs what you’ve released! 😮
🤫
The tan one? She already did that one and I missed it 😭😭😭😭

I love this genius of spider I have 2 Arizona blondies. My nephews named one of them Kiwi 🥝
Great vid Kat and what cute lil Ts these are.
I’ve got 4 aphonopelma, different species. Love Them 🤎🧡💛🤍
They are gorgeous creatures!
Based. My Hentzi is one of the cutest I got 💕
I love the neutral colors my favorites are the light browns and blacks. Just something about them.
I can't watch this video until my 5 year old niece watches it with me tomorrow. That's what she told me anyway. LOL. She calls you Spidergirl.
My a. moderatum is surprisingly spicy, got as a sling in 2022 and its yet to molt even once with me
Great video
I love my aphonopelma chalcodes she does the best happy dances after stuffing 2 crickets in her mouth at the same time. ☺️

I'm in BC and patiently waiting for an aphonopelma chalocodes. Haven't found any aphonopelmas yet
Cool new tarantulas !!!!!!!!!!
Can not believe you have haters? Who could hate Aphonopelma, they look amazing
Check on hard core arachnids they have a new spiders
Aphomapulma hentzi! Let's go!
A “hater” is anyone that doesn’t agree with you and has a different opinion!
KAT! name the one at 4:35 Opal!!!!!
Your fingernails look like LOVE! :D
I really want one of your enclosure. Not sure if I can order from the uk
My dream tarantula is an A. hentzi, but it would need to be an adult or sub adult male. You see, I am 65, and I figure I have at least 20 years to enjoy my tarantulas, so a tiny sling wouldn’t grow up fast enough, lol!!!
Yeah tom!
Aphos from northern Mexico are the best looking IMO
I personally feel that there is no boring spider. And no boring coloration.. I mean each spider has its own unique look. And none of them really look like the others identically. I mean there's always some variation of pattern in coloration. But you know for people to say that spiders are boring they're not even certain species of spiders are not boring. People that really are into the spider hobby would understand that a bit more.
I would LOVE to keep all the North american Aphonopelmas.
Saguaro is the same as the cactus, pronounced Sah-Wah-Row
I have alot of aphonopelma slings but man they take forever to grow😅
SAGUARO is pronounced
" suh-war-oh" . It's the very tall, armed cactus in the southwest.
you beat me to it! ah, man...
How can anyone say that an animal is boring is beyond me and really makes me wonder if they should have any animals at all.
Tarantula Kat I have a question to ask you. And the reason I'm asking you this specific question is because I don't remember if you've ever owned the species of spider. But have you ever owned a Ogre spider before?
I need a Gumbo update next! 💕😊
He’s alive but been living in the dark a bit to kill an algae problem lmao
I like your videos.
Are you gonna be the Show me reptiles event April 21 at cape Girardeau Missouri the Osage Center I would like to meet your family
I love all of mine.
My Aphonopelma seemani is one of the prettiest T's I have. Her tummy is a lovely peachy color and she sits head up in her burrow right in the corner and I see her fuzzy little underside all day. Aphonopelmas are awesome. I also have a Aphonopelma calchodes. 😀
I have seen some INSANELY blue A seemani, they are so beautiful and underrated!
My chalcodes is such a sweetheart thats it pains me that i cant pet it
