Are you accessing SAP GUI from Ubuntu or on Windows ? If you have some additional info on Ubuntu, it will be useful. I also trust we can use eclipse on Windows to access the ABAP & HANA from Ubuntu once the container is up.
After installing SAP GUI in Ubuntu, you can run it like any other application. If you install it using the default options, the SAP Clients folder will appear in your home directory. Lunch shortcuts can be found inside. I use Linux for everything, including SAP GUI, Eclipse, and Visual Studio Code.
Is there any ETA on when you plan to enable this container on docker hub again? I'll only be using it to practice ABAP on a clean machine, so I'm not worried about the log4j vulnerability.
Hello, SAP maintains the Docker container; I am not linked with SAP in any way except I work on SAP products as my job. According to SAP's blog, they are working on a new release for 2020, which will be released soon.

Hi... How much RAM does your equipment have? When I start the abaptrial, I get this message: "Got unhandled signal: 28". Do you know what it can be? I am using Debian 10.

It has been long time, I could not provide docker image due to EULA but now you can download image directly, ABAP 1909 image is back.

can this be installed on a system with 8GB RAM.? If not is there any other way to get SAP ABAP on a system with 8 GB RAM?
Minimum RAM required for 1909 is 16GB. There was Sybase based installation which could have worked with 8GB but it was removed recently.
